"I'm sorry," Alina said, quickly stepping back. The girl she bumped into immediately turned her face away, her hair falling like a curtain to obscure her features.
"Alina, are you alright?" Marcus's voice cut through the noise, his concern evident as he rushed to her side.
Alina glanced back at the girl, something about her seemed oddly familiar. "Excuse me, do I know you? Can I see your face?" she asked, trying to get a better look.
The girl shook her head, her voice barely above a whisper, "No."
"Kendra, what are you doing here?" Marcus's tone was sharp, filled with suspicion.
"It's not your concern," Kendra muttered, still avoiding eye contact.
