Chapter fifty eight

Alina went straight to her room and flung herself onto the bed, relieved. "That was a close one," she sighed. She smiled, thinking to herself that her acting skills were improving.

Now she really couldn't wait for tonight. It was obvious Kendra would be going to the dance, but Alina didn't know if Evan would make it, since he was still recovering from what Sasha did to him. She hadn't called him after what he went through; she really didn't know what to tell him or what to say.

Alina picked up her phone and looked at the call log. She saw Evan's number and pondered whether she should call him or not.

She took a deep breath and dialed the number. Immediately, the phone started to ring.

"Hello, Alina," Evan's voice vibrated from the phone.

"Hi, Evan. How are you holding up?" she said calmly.

"I'm fine, I guess. You heard what Sasha did?"

"I'm really sorry for what she did to you."

"Why are you apologizing? You did nothing wrong."
