When Audra's mum dies, she goes back home, even knowing she would finally have to face his first love, Chris – who’s also his foster brother. After what appears to have been a pretty painful breakup, they’ve been avoiding each other over the past 11 years. But will the pain of the loss bring them back together? Or would the bad memories be too much? The journey from here only gets more eventful, when her mum leaves a surprise condition on her will that would turn Audra’s life around.
GETTING READY
*Audra's POV, past.
Two sharp knocks on the door startled me as I was putting a pin on my hair.
"Sweetie, can you get that? I'm not ready yet." My mom asked from the bathroom, where she was getting ready for the wedding.
"It's just me, I can wait outside if you're not done yet" Chris answered from the other side of the door, but I was already walking there to open it.
When I did, Chris opened his mouth like he was going to say something and then shut it, looking me up and down.
"Hi" I said a bit nervous. It was the first time in ages since I've worn a pretty dress - let's just say I don't remember having boobs the last time I wore one – and I felt cute but also a bit embarrassed, I wasn't overly confident in myself or my looks.
And seeing Chris looking so elegant in his suit looking me over like that only made me more nervous.
"Hey." He said with a smile.
We stood there, staring at each other.
