Making a deadly deal.

Lana bent forward and buried her face in her hands. She could only think of one person who had done this to her. She made up her mind to fight back.

When she removed her hands from her face, the man she had arrested some minutes ago was there looking at her with a wicked smile on his lips.

Lana's hands clenched. David was coming towards her, she was sure he had bribed the police for him to be freed immediately. She also knew that he was the one trying to pin her down with the fake news about her and Santiago that was spreading in the city.

"Let's get out of here now, don't talk to him."

Lana shook out of Mila's grip but Mila was quick to draw her back as she had made to run towards David.

Lana decided she was not going to bother herself by trying to prove her innocence, not even to Mr Bernard who was staring at her now with a mixed expression on his face.

"You did this to me huh?! I know you're the one behind this!" Lana shouted.

David began to laugh mischievously at her. "Lana, Lana, Lana," David called in a sing-song voice again. "Didn't I tell you that it was bad for you to hate me? Now look at what you have done to yourself. I didn't know too you're a desperate woman. So you have been doing this with Santiago without your sister's knowledge? Oh, what a woman."

Lana's head burned with more hatred towards David. She wanted badly to strike his lying lips off his face.

"Let's go now, Lana." Mila panicked, pulling Lana forcefully to the door. She didn't want to get herself involved in the fight.

"Mark my words, David, I will surely get back to you! I won't let you get away with this!" Lana screamed shoving her hands in the air as Mila continued to pull her.

"Point of correction, Lana. You did this to yourself not me. I never asked you to stab Roselle behind her back. It was obvious that she was in a relationship with Santiago but what did you do? You decided to take her man. With your actions Lana, one can believe that you know something about..."

"Shut up!" Lana interrupted, flipping her shoes off her legs and she threw the shoes at him.

David began to laugh again, this time his laughter sounded more cruel in Lana's ears.

Lana's body was once more covered with sweat as soon as Mila had successfully pulled her outside.

Every nerve of her body helped her to stare without seeing and to walk amid the noise without hearing it.

The crowd had increased by numbers. They were all pointing accusing fingers at her.

She was afraid of the demand from people that she needed to be arrested, but good thing no one was coming to her for any arrest. But they will come to question her, and she had to give a convincing answer. She needed badly to see Santiago.

"Maybe what she's been accused of is true. Can't you see that Santiago who claimed to be hurt that Roselle had been kidnapped is not here? If he had loved Roselle as he claimed he should be here, fighting to find Roselle."

Lana heard someone say as they passed the crowd. The reporters were once more blocking her with their microphones.

Their demand for her to talk to them sounded more like an order.

"Ma'am Lana, what do you have to say to prove yourself?"

"Ma'am, is it true that you have been meeting with Santiago a long time before now?"

"Ma'am talk to us now!" The questioning voices were ringing in her ears.

"Get away from me!" Lana yelled, pushing the reporters away from her. The guards were not following her now. They all had despised her, the whole city had despised her.

Her mind darkened at how the city accused someone without knowing the actual truth. All she needed was to find Santiago and her sister.

With force, Lana and Mila got into the car.

"Run them over if they block us!" Lana ordered Mila.

The reporters hearing this, went out of their way immediately.

Lana shut her eyes. The angry voices of the people still playing in her head as the car zoomed down the road.

"Roselle, where are you? What is happening to us?" Lana cried. She was scared, if this continues she was sure she would lose her mind.

'What will she tell her mother now that things had turned out in this way?' As these thoughts went on and on in her mind, she suddenly screamed again. "Mila stop the car!"

Mila hit on the break immediately and parked by the roadside as Lana rushed out of the car. Mila ran towards her immediately, pulling her out of the road.

"I love my sister, I would never do that to her. I would never plan to kidnap her." She was weeping, crouching down on the floor.

Mila pulled her into a hug as they suddenly heard the screeching of car tires close to where they were. They lifted their head and saw two men file out of the car, the two in black suits forcing their feet towards them.

It was him again, David Anthony.

Lana pulled out of Mila's hug and ran towards David. She landed a hard slap on his face before he could say any nonsense to her.

Instead of David to get angry, he continued his laughter again.

"It will be best for you to comply with me and in just thirty minutes, this whole news would be history," David said now glaring at Lana.

"I will never accept to have anything to do with you!"

"Oh really? Even now that you're in such a mess? Hahaha. You always know how to make me laugh."

"I can see you're very stupid, get away from me!"

"No, I won't. In fact, I will continue to pester you from now on, even in your sleep, hahaha."

"I knew it, David, the first time I saw you I knew that I needed to get you far away from my sister. But don't worry, soon enough I will get the evidence to put you behind bars. Because my sister is missing you want to take the opportunity..."

"Stop right there, Lana. What about you, aren't you taking the opportunity to take Santiago?" David interrupted.

"My sister had never accepted Santiago as her boyfriend in the first place. Why should this be anyone's problem if I choose to be with him?"

"Do you think I will believe that? And does it have to be now that she's been kidnapped that you have to show your love to Santiago in public? I can only say Roselle was too stupid to take you as her beloved sister."

"You're very stupid!"

"Hahaha, yes I know. Can't you see I win people with my stupidity? Your sister had used me, Lana! And I must get back to all of you!" David yelled.

"Good thing the truth is finally getting out of your mouth."

"It's no big deal, after all, your sister is not here to hear it. So if eventually she was saved, I will continue to woe her to love me instead of that man Santiago."

"I can see that you're just letting yourself be controlled by jealousy."

"There's no need to exchange more words with you Lana. Are you going to work with me or should I continue to tarnish your image?" David asked with a dead tone.

Lana's head went into several thoughts, if she let this continue, she didn't know how to control the damage that would be done in her name.

"Alright, I will work with you but make sure you wipe that news."

"Good girl." David smiled deeply, his eyes of wicked intentions.

"Say it already," Lana ordered.
