Great Sage Ranker Vs Arthur

Right after the man's head rolled on the floor, nobody in the room took the young man lightly as they did before. Their previous expression was now changed into fear and shock. The majority of people within the room all knew that they wouldn't be able to defeat the muscular man but the youth in front of them, that was not even 20, did just that.

The expression of the old man now changed as well, he no longer underestimated the youth in front of him but was not afraid just like the rest of the people within the room. His face was solemn but within it contained a slight smile. "I didn't think I was gonna find someone like you here."

"Fighting? That wasn't fighting... that was an assassination!" One of the female fighters exclaimed. The kind of abilities that the man showed that he would be at least at King Rank because the muscular man that was killed in an instant was already an Adult Ranker.

How could anyone in the city, let alone in the arena, face off against someone with the strength equal to someone at Emperor Rank.

Arthur looked at the woman that just spoke up and the latter felt a chill sent down her spine. The atmosphere was dead silent except for the footsteps of the young man. As Arthur was walking he suddenly stopped as a slight headache appeared. A sudden flash of images surged his mind, without minding it much he shook his head and continued walking. Alongside the sudden pain accompanied an unparalleled bloodlust.

Arthur then simply went back to the place where he was just from and put his hands behind his head as he leaned back on the wall. No one dared disturb the young man as to not anger him, they all felt the blood chilling bloodlust that the man had. The silent atmosphere was broken by the overseer of the event.

"NEXT!"

This time the fight was between 2 females, compared to the skill that Arthur that he had just displayed, to could truly be called as child's play. The fight ended with minimal injuries as they bowed each other in respect.

The rest of the fights were subpar to the scene that Arthur displayed while fighting, everyone's fight except the old man and another girl's fight. Their fights were actually something that could possibly compare to Arthur's skills but it was not something that they thought would be the young man's match since the latter dealt with his opponent with ease.

After all 8 matches were done, there were only 8 people remaining from the previous 16. At this point, there were 3 powerhouses in the event: Arthur, the old man, and the girl wearing a purple outfit. In the second part of the event, all the opponents of these 2 powerhouses had all surrendered before they even entered the arena.

The opponent of the girl wearing a purple outfit actually tried to take her on but was only met with defeat. Her opponent, although was defeated, had a smile as he left the arena. With only 4 people remaining, everyone in the audience just focused on these 3 powerhouses on winning the event.

The woman wearing a purple outfit faced off against the other participant where she won an overwhelming victory, other than the skills she showed off there was nothing else to comment about it.

The real fight that everyone in the audience was anticipating was the young man against the old man. As soon as the overseer spoke up signifying their fight would take place, everyone's attention suddenly shifted to the fighters.

"Hmm... what a talent! Listen here, if you want to improve your skills, even more, I am willing to offer you a place at my guild! What do you say?" The old man was quite confident in the offer he was giving to the young man. This kind of offer was something that everyone was tempted by, even if a little bit. If someone were to have a guild then it would be by no means a small force.

Arthur closed his eyes as his headache was getting worse by the moment, he rubbed his forehead his fingers as an attempt to alleviate the pain. "No thanks, not really tempted by the offer." That and the situation where he was already indebted to Joseph. The entire reason why he was here was to get enough money to build Joseph's house.

"Hais, what a waste! Well, if you ever change your mind then just go and search for the "Purple Ravens Guild" and call for me. I can't have a talent like you be wasted." The old man sighed but still felt glad that he was able to find such a young person here.

Although no one here has ever heard about the Purple Ravens Guild, they were all envious of the young man standing in the arena. Even though no one has heard about this name, it was a guild nonetheless, it basically meant that one would be able to have a solid future if one would be in a guild.

The overseer shouted to start the fight and as soon as he did Arthur dashed towards the old man in front of him. The old man simply unsheathed his sword and blocked Arthur strike, which made the latter step back. This exchange was done in less than a few seconds, although perceptible everyone knew that this was fast.

As soon as Arthur was blocked, he once again attacked the old man relentlessly. "Huh, I thought you had some sword training but it seems that I was wrong. You really did just use speed when you killed that man." The old man was unfazed while Arthur was already sweating. His words rung within Arthur's mind, this did not help with his headache that was constantly getting worse.

Arthur still kept on attacking relentlessly as he kept getting faster and faster. The old man was getting surprised as he was no longer easily blocking the strikes but was now actually trying to defend with concentration. As Arthur's strikes are getting faster, his swordsmanship was also getting better. The old man was no longer at ease as he noticed these small changes within Arthur.

"Hehehe! This is getting more interesting! FASTER!"

The old man was actually struggling now as he tried to keep blocking Arthur's strikes, the power behind the strikes was something that the old man was the actual thing he was struggling with but he soon grew accustomed to it. As he got more used to the power behind the strikes, he felt that the power behind these strikes was getting weaker, the old man grinned at this change.

"Hah... it actually seems that you don't have high stamina so I think that this--"

The old man was now filled with shock as his face showed a wide-eyed old man with fear behind his eyes. Although the strikes were getting weaker and weaker, it was at the same time getting faster and faster. Everyone in the audience was actually getting scared of how fast the swords were going and how at this point no was hurt.

On Arthur's end, his headache was getting much worse as he now struggled on hanging on to consciousness. The sudden flurry of attacks stopped in an instant which let the old man take a deep breath and relax for a moment. He was getting overwhelmed slowly over time so he was quite relieved that the attacks stopped even for a moment.

Arthur had now put his head on his head as his headache intensified as an aura of bloodlust appeared, it was so much bloodlust that someone that experienced hundreds of war would fear. The old man noticed the young man's expression, the young man was now smiling devilishly as he covered his eyes with his hand.

"Something... changed, I don't think this is gonna end well for me. I think I am going to surr--"

The old man felt the bloodlust that the young man in front of him was emitting, it gave him a feeling of death as the young man's hand moved a bit to let him see the old man now cowering in fear. The young man now had a completely different aura from before, he had now an aura of someone that had killed innocent people before without batting an eye and extreme tenacity where even if the gods would smite him down he would rise up to oppose them.

Arthur moved at a speed where if one were to compare speeds, his speed from before his aura changed at his max was only 1/10th to the speed he showed right now. A sword appeared between the old man's eyes as the latter was forced to use a technique causing him to fail the surrender.

"Sword Aura"

The entire body of the old man emitted a holy aura around him nearing half a feet. This area was something that his sword could reach in a moment's notice, usually, this was his trump card that would be equal to a perfect defense. However, against the young man in front of him, that moment might be a little bit slow.

The old man's breath was staggering as he felt his body tremble under the pressure of this young man. "I sur--" he was interrupted even faster by Arthur as he used his entire focus on defending it causing him to fail the surrender once again.

"Kekekeke, you are gonna... die..." Arthur's voice had a coldness behind it as he kept on slashing the old man now. None of the spectators except the woman in a purple outfit could see the sword strikes, they would only see the sparks that could actually cause a fire to come out. The woman in the purple outfit could barely see what was happening as she spoke out to the overseer, "Hey! He surrendered, right? Stop the fight right now!" She was actually scared of what might happen to the old man.

"No can do... unless they fully state it, the match won't be ended." The coldness made the woman angry but she could do nothing as what he said were the rules of this event. The old man now had to now bring out one of his trump cards in this place.

"Limiter- Off"

"I can't believe that you could force me to use my actual power. What an interesting lad!" The old man's power seemed to increase by an extremely high margin. "Well since I am actually a Great Sage Ranker, this fight is now over. I tried to hide my power but you have forced me to use it, I won't surrender anymore. The only outcome here is that you either surrender or die from my hand!" The old man felt that this was quite a fruitful since he was able to find someone of having this kind of strength at such an extremely young age.

Everyone felt fear and respect towards the old man, their king was at King Rank but the man in front of them was at Great Sage Rank! A whole 3 stages of the difference of power, they could only be at awe seeing such strength in front of them. They could only be considered as lucky.

Being at Great Sage Rank, he was already able to form a foundation of either body strengthing or mental strengthening which was something that a Sage Rank could do. This kind of foundation was essential if one would take the path of body strengthening or mental strengthening. All the previous stages before Sage Rank were all a pathway to familiarize themselves in controlling their strength and finding which path would be most suitable for them, be it physical or mental.

There would be an extra trial in which path they would take, if one were to choose a path that is unsuitable for them then it would only cause a negative effect in the future. The old man took the path of body strengthing so he was extremely confident in physical fights.

Arthur did not respond with a surrender but with a crazed look in his eyes, while he's grinning, he looked at the old man as if he was nothing else but garbage, "Huh?! Does that matter?! Hahaha, then let's have more fun! I've been trapped in that godforsaken mind of this idiot and I've gotta let off some steam." Arthur had now moved even faster while swinging his sword more efficiently and even more deadly than before.

The old man's calm attitude was still there but his arrogance of being a higher ranked person was gone. The speed and mastery of the sword was something that he was now being faced with was leagues above what he was fighting before. At first, the old man was trying to gauge the skill of the young man's talent but now he was dead serious as he felt that this was an actual death battle.

With a wave of his hand, the old man now masterfully used the sword to block Arthur's attack. Everyone was already shocked by the events of this battle, everything seemed to become numb as they watched a fight of people, no, a fight against monsters.

At first, the old man seemed to block Arthur's strikes without much issue just like he did before. Although they were now fighting each other like experts clashing for the title of the best, one could not simply ignore the youth that could contend against someone at the Great Sage Rank. Sparks flew ever so ferociously as the battle kept on going without any moment of hesitation.

After blocking a few more strikes, the old man noticed the shadow of an afterimage appear in front of him showing an extremely irritating playful smile. "This..." the old man did not want to believe that the young man in front of him was simply toying with him. This kind of monster was something that will rule even the heavens in the future and this was considering that no one was helping him. Being agitated, the old man finally took the first strike against Arthur.

The sword aura the enveloped his body suddenly surrounded the sword as he struck Arthur. The young man was just smiling throughout the entire fight as the ground below started to crack as the old man did this. After rising his sword, an aura of power suppressed Arthur's bloodlust by a little bit but did not affect him whatsoever.

"Flash"

A sudden movement of light appeared behind Arthur as the sword pierced the latter's body. Everyone was shocked that such an intense fight would be ended by a single strike, however, it did make sense since the attacker was someone at the Great Sage Rank while the young man was just young, how powerful could one get with so little time.

A sigh of disappointed accompanied the silent atmosphere, "Such a waste of talent, if only he listened he could have had actually been someone that would have had been a great existence." This one attack actually had a lot of power behind it and was enough to completely kill someone at Sage Rank without much issue. the latter's body fell on the ground lifeless while the sword was doused by his blood, this body produced a thud sound.

A slight rumble made the old man who was still in his battle mode to be alert as he used his sword to block a possible threat from something. After looking at where he heard the sound, he saw Arthur standing still with a smug expression on his face.

The audience could no longer keep up with what was happening as some just closed their eyes and opening them once again to see if they were actually seeing this correctly. Arthur stood on the arena completely fine as the body on the floor and the blood on the sword slowly faded away like a wisp of air.

"Ah! It seemed to work! Hahaha! This idiot already knew how to do it but was scared. Pfft, he just doesn't know how to fully utilize I guess." The mocking tone of the young man wasn't directed at the old man but rather it seemed to be directed... at himself?

The old man had already exhausted quite a lot of energy to pull that strike off since the Flash Technique required extremely high energy to boost one to another place at such a quick distance. He didn't have any more strength to fight at his best, so he did what a rational person would do in face of such a terrifying existence, surrendering.

Once again just like before, Arthur prevented the old man from surrendering. "Tsk, tsk, tsk, I won't let you ruin my fun!" These words made the old man him fear for his life even though he was already at the Great Sage Rank. Arthur's swordsmanship and speed were getting better as time went on, the old man could only sigh in defeat as he was forced to use drastic measures.

"I surrender... Argh!" As they were fighting, the old man spoke out these words but as Arthur was about to prevent him from speaking, the old man chose to forfeit his arm instead of his life.

"Tch! Oh well, we still have the pretty lady, right? Kekekeke!" Arthur's gaze laid on the woman in the purple outfit as she felt a shiver down her spine. Arthur felt great! He actually managed to warm up for an actual fight, if he wasn't able to get a satisfying fight then only a slaughter would suffice.

"I surrender!" These words were involuntary as soon as she heard Arthur speak. What kind of suicidal person would dare fight him knowing that a Great Sage Ranker lost to him overwhelmingly. No one in the crowd was surprised by her decision since they all witnessed what monster lurked within the city.

"Oh well... gimme the money! I try the death arena back then. I still need a lot more money, kekeke! As well as have a little bit of fun." Everyone in the room, as well as the overseer, knew what they had to do as soon as this finished. They all needed to get out as fast as they can if they want to live.
