Chapter: Permission Denied

Layla stopped in the middle of training as she heard her transmitter ring to life. Slowly, she attempted to answer it but was immediately stopped by Chimera.

"You're in the middle of training, Layla. I can't allow you to be distracted. Put the transmitter down," ordered Chimera calmly.

"I know we're in training, but what if it's something important? This is the fifth time I've received a call. I think it would be best to see what's up..."

Layla knew that there had to be some sort of reason why Sergeant Duncan was trying so hard to get in contact with her. However, before Layla could answer the call, Chimera snatched the transmitter from her hand.

"Chimera! Come on! Give it back..."

"You should learn to follow rules, Layla. Following rules is the key to survival. If you break the rules then you put yourself at the risk of losing your life."
