Harry took Rose and Charlie to get their Hogwarts robes but as they entered the store a few people are ahead of them since Hogwarts's new term is going to start soon.
"You guys wait here for mom and grandmother, I have to take care of a few things at the bank and Rose watch Charlie, don't let him get into any trouble while I am gone." Harry said to his siblings.
Charlie glared at him while Rose nodded like he gave her the most arduous task. Harry smiled and promised to be back as soon as possible before leaving his siblings at the store.
Harry entered the bank navigating his way through the herd of people going in and out of the goblin establishment. The bank is the same as it was when he first came here with Hagrid but there is one small difference, instead of piles of papers now there is a small rectangular mirror in front of each goblin teller.
By working with his mother the goblins have modified the Magic Mirror to work like a banking system just like on muggle computers. While this system can only be accessed by goblins this has allowed the bank to provide services like the Vault card and function better without creating mounds of paperwork everywhere. Now you only rarely see the goblins produce a paper copy by swiping their finger on the mirror.
This has significantly improved House Potter's standing with goblins everywhere in the world. Just as Harry entered the bank a goblin clerk directly came to greet him.
"Welcome, Mr Potter. Should I take you to House Potter's vault manager?" The goblin clerk enthusiastically asked him.
Harry smiled "No, I am here to see Ironclaw."
"Ironclaw? Oh right. I will take your there right away." The clerk then showed Harry the way to Ironclaw's office.
As they reached the door the clerk went inside and came back a few moments later.
"He is ready for you Mr Potter."
Harry entered the office and found Ironclaw waiting for him with a smile on his face and a drink in his hand. Harry took the glass of firewhiskey and sat down on the regular-sized couch in front of the small goblin desk.
Ironclaw is the same goblin that he bribed four years ago so his parents won't learn about his empty trust vault. Ironclaw was just a young inexperienced goblin at that time who mostly did clerical work and handled the trust vaults of the potter children.
Harry took out one of the rare magical parts from the ritual chamber and sold it through Ironclaw to refill his trust vault and use the rest to open his own personal vault separate from the potter vaults. Now Ironclaw handles his personal vault, looks after his investments and also procures all kinds of things for Harry.
In the previous timeline, Ironclaw was already a well-known financial expert even among the goblin kind. A few years after the war Harry paid a lot of gold to specifically get Ironclaw to manage the potter vaults. This time however Harry met Ironclaw before he became famous and he was the one who supplied Ironclaw with the gold necessary to get started.
This led to Ironclaw rising through the goblin ranks years before it originally happened in the previous timeline.
Harry didn't really get Ironclaw to make lots of gold but rather to handle things for him while he is still growing up. Ironclaw still turned the limited amount of gold from his vault into a small fortune during the last four years.
Now Harry is here to finally collect his vault card, now that he has turned eleven he can finally get complete access to his personal vault.
There are a lot of age requirements and complicated procedures when it comes to a wizard's vault because of the oaths that are in place to protect the wizard and his gold. Due to those oaths, a wizard should only deal with their personal vault managers because only those particular goblins are oath-bound, this means they can't cheat you when it comes to your gold and vault.
When the galleon was first created and managed by wizards its value was all over the place but after we gave the control of the currency to the goblins the economy has been stable for the last few centuries and there is little to no inflation. This is because goblins are innately good with numbers and finances and they properly maintain the magical economy so their own gold doesn't lose its value.
Magical currency doesn't make sense to muggles because having an official exchange currency is not as important to the wizarding community as it is to muggles. A wizard who graduated from a magical school is skilled enough that he can take care of all his mundane needs by himself, he can maintain a basic magical garden, brew day to day potions, transfigure useless stuff into all the things he needs, etc. Wizards are very self-sufficient for the most part and only need a currency to exchange magical goods and services from other wizards.
This is why the wizarding community lets the goblins control their gold and their economy for the most part. But this is not without sufficient oversight and magical contracts and oaths to make sure that the goblins can't mess with their finances.
The magical contract between Ironclaw and Harry is even more stringent especially when it comes to Harry's privacy. Ironclaw can't disclose Harry's information and dealings with anyone, if he tries he will forget the entire thing and if the goblin keeps going then he will face all kinds of magical consequences.
Ironclaw happily explained the various investments he made with Harry's gold and how much profits they made for both of them, the goblin financial experts have their own percentage in the wizard's profits and so the more gold Harry makes the better it is for the goblin.
Harry only nodded along with the goblin as he didn't really care about the gold, he just got this vault so he won't need to keep getting gold from the potter vaults and hide it from his family.
Harry finally got his Vault card after Ironclaw finally stopped talking, he quickly took the metallic black card and left the bank before the goblin can go into another long talk about profits and gold.
