Mikael was sipping his soup, savoring the very first meal he had in a week.
Aurel joined him to eat, pulling pieces of bread from under her nightgown, between her breasts, and placing them on the nightstand beside the bed.
Mikael immediately looked away, darting his eyes in the opposite direction as he caught sight of what she was doing in his peripheral vision.
Aurel offered, "Do you want some, too, sister?"
He felt embarrassed, a flush creeping up his cheeks as he managed to say in a stutter, "Uh, no, I'm fine with the soup. Thanks," while feeling a bit awkward.
Then, without a knock or a caution, the door to the master room swung open, crashing against the wall. Mikael's spoon paused mid-air, and his mouth hung open as he stared at the intruder.
"Uahk!" his companion in the room exclaimed, startled by the unexpected entrance.
