"Sir, it has been two months since the start of the start of the year and the beginning of our search. Are you really certain that this the correct year that the Reincarnated King would appear in this world?"

It is early in the morning and I cannot sleep at all.

It is not like I had a bad dinner. In fact, I was so happy to have dinner with my complete family last night. But my wonderful night is still ruined due to the lingering thoughts that has been sticking on my mind ever since the Old man Reverend named-dropped the power called Harness without any explanation at all.

-FLASHBACK TO YESTERDAY AFTER THE QUIZ-

"Alright old man. We are now in a back alley and no one is probably going to see us so you can now appear right in front of so I won't look stupid talking to myself."

After I told him to appear, the old man came out of nowhere and showed up in front of me. I already expected it to happen but I still cannot help but be surprised.

'Nice to meet you face to face once again, Lief. How was your first experience on using your Harness?'

"Let us get to the point, old man. Why don't you explain to me what the hell is this Harness thing that you are talking about and how did it exactly make my eyesight better or whatever?"

The old man looked at me mischievously and then responded.

'I see, it seems like you are getting ready for your destiny. Great job, Lief! I will one hundred percent support you in fulfilling your path of yours!'

This damn geezer.

"I told you I won't be doing this fulfilling my destiny or whatever! This is so bothersome and why would my fate be decided by someone that is not myself?!"

'If you are not interested then why are you asking me about the harness?'

"Well, I am asking you about it because… Because… Because…"

Shit! I do not know what to say!

'No matter what you say or no matter how much you hate it, your path to greatness has already begun. Did you really think that you are the only one that tried to stop your own destiny?'

"What… What do you mean by that?!"

'Your previous life, my liege, also went through a rebelling stage just like you are currently trying to do. Even the one previous to him did it as well. All of your predecessors tried to rebel as well. Let me tell you this, what you are doing right now is completely unnecessary. Based on what Old man Reverend just said, I must have multiple previous lives and reincarnated multiple times. Does this mean that lives have been doing this endless cycle for a very long time? I understand why all of my previous lives also hated his idea as well. This suck.

Anyways, it seems like due to some kind of event or whatever, m previous life must have done or experienced something tragic based on the words of the old man.

"So you want me to be different from my predecessors?"

'That is right, Lief. I don't want you to suffer as much as what the previous ones suffered. That is my duty as the Chancellor of the previous King. To guide the next Generation. Which is why I am trying my best for you to be different.'

"Fine, I am going to be different than them. I have decided to try my best in order to not fulfill the destiny that was determined for me!!!"

I have already decided that I am going to try my best in order to defy my predetermined fate. I do not know if it is going to work because based on the stories of the old man, no one has ever been successful on doing so. Not that it is going to stop me though.

In order for me to successfully defeat my destiny, I need to know everything about. Which is why I asked the old man to teach me everything, specifically the power called Harness.

He told that he is going to meet me on the next day, and based on the current time, it is officially the next day.

*WOOSH*

He is here. The iconic smoke is in my room.

'Greetings, Lief. Looks like you were waiting for my arrival.'

"What took you so long, old man?! I was getting tired of waiting for you."

'I apologize. I had to stop by in order to bring them with me on this trip.'

"Bring what?!"

As soon as I asked the question, another set of smoke suddenly appeared but this time there are two sources of smoke.

"Geez old man! You got to stop these smokes. It is suffocating me!"

'You are mistaken, Lief. Those are not mine.'

The new smokes slowly faded away, and it revealed two silhouettes. It is a man and a woman.

"Who the heck are the two of you?"

Right after my question, the smoke is completely gone.

I see two people, a man and a woman in wearing weird robes that is similar to what the old man is wearing. The two of them looks like they are around the same age as mine.

"Greetings, Sir Lief. My name is Allen."

"And my name is Lexa."

"And the two of us are the assigned pair that is going to be the future Chancellor of this world."

"In other words, we are both of your loyal servants."
