YOU DARE!

" Traffic! We were behind you but after you crossed, the traffic light turned red. Moreover, the cars ahead of us suddenly broke, making us late for half an hour!" Alinia sighs explaining how fortunate enough they are to not be stuck in the traffic.

Just as they were talking Adrian returned with a clean face getting rid of any tear marks. Alex smiles sadly at her son. She could only hope Lucas would be fine. Only when Lucas declares fine will her own son's condition will be fine.

By the time Adrian returns, Marcus and Reena also finally reach the hospital.

They hop out of the car hoping to see Eugene waiting for them but they couldn't even see the shadow of their son. Marcus couldn't help but frown whereas Reena began to worry.

They knew their son wasn't like this, something must have happened, serious enough for Eugene to even discard his wounded mother.

Marcus led Reena to the 44th floor where only VIPs are allowed, their usual room and where currently Lucas was being checked upon.

Once they reach the 44th floor, to their surprise all their son's family, even the current mistress of Hemsworth and Jonesons with their children were present there. However, nobody notices their presence and the atmosphere is so solemn as if someone is about to die.

Thinking of this possibility Reena was stunned. If their children are here looking so solemn then the ones in the room should've their own. Deducting her theory, Reena suddenly felt uncomfortable.

She looked at her hubby hoping to see his usual cheerful look but when she saw his dignified look she was sure something had befallen their family.

They quickly walk to their children when Eugene suddenly notices his mother and father.

" Mom, are you ok, father informed me you were shot," Eugene worriedly looked at his mother, checking for any wound. He only notices the blood flowing from her shoulder.

He was stunned, so he quickly called for a doctor and sent her for treatment. Eugene moved so fast that she didn't even get a chance to question him about the situation here.

" Mom, go and have the doctor look at your wound, after you finish it we will tell you everything, dad you too," Olivia, seeing in-law's worried face, promised then to tell everything after a while.

Being urged by her husband, Son and daughter-in-law Reena reluctantly went to check up.

Just when Reena went to check her wound, a group of doctors responsible for Lucas's condition led by the head doctor came to them with a worried and dreaded face.

" Mr and Mrs Evans, We think we should have a serious talk inside," the head doctor and neurologist of the hospital solemnly request Olivia and Eugene to follow him to Lucas's room.

Olivia and Eugene look at each other and at the head doctor, seeing his serious face they knew the matter is serious than they thought.

Nodding their heads they followed behind him. Luna and Adrian were also following them but they were stopped by the head doctor, " Only parents are allowed this time, no one else."

The head doctor's voice was full of authority not leaving any words of discussion but how could that stop Adrian from following them.

" Adrian, sigh....don't be stubborn let aunt Olivia and uncle Eugene have chat with the doctor then you could ask the matter later ok. Baby don't make a scene. the more you act like this the more time will be lost. So for Lucas to wake up you have to let doctors do their work," Alex came forward to reason with her son and by miracle Adrian listen to her.

Before Olivia and Eugene follow the doctor Adrian hug them tightly with a promise to tell him everything the doctor tells them, " Aunt, Uncle, you both know how much, brother Lucas meant to me so you can't hide anything from me. Therefore, after the doctor tells about brother Lucas's condition you have to tell me everything the doctor tells you without missing a word."

With a gentle smile, they nodded their head in agreement.

After which they went inside.

The VIPs room has always been the best of the best and the room booked for Evans has always been one of the best among them. It was more of a luxury 7-star hotel room than a hospital ward.

The room was about 150 sq metres with an attached bathroom, closet, living room connected with kitchen and a balcony with a great view of the whole city.

Head doctors led them to sit on the sofa in the living room where the other two department heads were also present.

If Olivia remembers clearly then one should be a cardiologist while the other one was the physician.

" Please take a seat," the head doctor has them sit on the sofa opposite to his.

" Olivia, Eugene didn't anyone tell you, you have to be truthful to your doctors and lawyers in order to save yourself!" the head doctor Mr Drake scold two irresponsible parents in front of him.

He was an old friend of Marcus, he specialized in western medicine and had even trained Lucas for a year in it. In other words, Lucas was his pupil but to his surprise, he didn't even know the health condition of his own pupil. How can he tolerate that!

" Moreover you dare to hide Lucas's condition, my pupil condition from me! You have really grown up, aren't you? You even dare to play with me! or are you afraid I, this old man would betray your trust!" Mr Drake was fuming in anger.

Olivia and Eugene knew they were wrong so they hung their heads not being able to refute doctor Drake's words.

Olivia quickly tried to explain, " It's not that we don't trust you or anything! Lucas didn't want to worry his teachers so even his other two teachers didn't know. You know how much he didn't like to worry his loved ones and all his teachers are his most respected person. So when he knew about his condition he had us promise to not let others know about his condition."

Mr Drake looked sad hearing Olivia's explanation. His eyes were full of tears which is rare. Eugene and Olivia were shocked, their eyes began to tear up, they have already guessed the situation was really bad.

" That child haaaaaa....he really is something but this time he has really overdone it.....I think it's really impossible to salvage the situation.....he is dying....."
