Family Bonding

-POV: Rhaegar Targaryen- 

Today is a special day. 

My second son will soon be born. This will be the last of the kids me and Laena will have. We have enough, two boys and two girls. 

My daughters turned threename days,  one noon ago. They are growing up so fast, it makes me anxious. 

Now let's talk about what had happened for the past two years. 

Firstly. 

Otto was relieved of his duties as hand of the king. My father sent him back to Oldtown. To be honest, I wanted to sent him to the wall. 

He obviously protested, but was taken away. I have some spies from Essos staying in Oldtown and watching over Otto. 

I've been getting reports that he's been meeting with someone every month. That's been going on for two years. 

Next. 

Rhaenyra had her second child. She said she'd take a break for a while, so I guess Joffrey will not exist. Sad but it's can't be stopped now. 

Jace and Luke have been friends with both of my daughters. Luke is still young, so he can't run around like Jace, Baela, and Rhaena. 

But sometimes, Rhaena stays with him. It's honestly adorable that my daughter doesn't want to play without Luke, so she just stays. 

Next. 

Alicent had sent Aegon, Aemond, and Daeron to Oldtown. Aegon and Aemond were at the age where they could start learning. 

Alicent wanted them to learn from her father, saying "he's the most intelligent man I know". 

She's fucking delusional. 

Helaena stayed and will be taught by her on how to be a lady. But I ask Laena to teach Helaena. 

Alicent can't even make her own decisions without asking Otto. My sister should grow up with a good head on her shoulders. 

Helaena has started to show her introverted personality. She and the twins are pretty close though. I'll say that. 

So let's get on to some good news. By blood riders came a three years ago. And to say it caused an uproar would be an understatement. 

Father was pissed, but I set him straight. Other lords complained that, they would be loud. 

They weren't loud at all. They only speak to me and my wife. They call her Khaleesi, while they call my children Little Khal, and Princess. 

I taught them the common language, they picked it up pretty easily. All five of them are pretty good at it now. 

They are all fun to talk to also. 

Now on to current events. The school is still under construction. It's going to be a huge building, so it's going to take a while for it to finish. 

I've already started looking for instructors. There are a few I have an eye on. I've put together all the courses the academy will have. 

World History. Having knowledge of the entire world is imported. Teaching kids about the world and other cultures would open their eyes to new perspectives. 

Math. Mathematics is important no matter the era. The basics will take you a long way, but the more advanced math could give you the answers to the universe. 

Science. Obviously this is important, chemistry, biology, etc. these are things only maesters learn, but this should be wide spread knowledge. Genius minds breeds innovation and Evolution. 

Magic Theory. Magic exists in this world. There may be people out there with magic power, and not even know it. That's why when the school finishes, I'll try and get Melisandre to be the instructor. She should be alive, she claimed to be 300 years old. 

Chivalry/Knight training. This will be a combat class. This class for train the future knights of the realm. The lord commander of the kings guard will be the instructor. With my plans to have a military, these kids will be the first generation. 

Language. This class will be here to teach language from around the world. High Valyrian will be reserved for the royal family. Only those with Valyrian blood can learn it. 

Religion. The kingdom I hope to build will have the freedom to practice any religion. And This class will teach students about each religion in this world. 

Politics. This class will be for the students that want to learn about politics, and the interworkings of the kingdom. Most of the noble children should take this class. Especially heirs/heiresses. 

Economics. This class would be for people who are interested in the stability of the kingdom, and for students to one day become Master Of Coin. Master of coin is not just about having money. It's about how you use that money, and how you make more of it. Resources are the most important factor for a kingdom to thrive. 

Law. Basically teach kids how to be lawyers. This class however is extremely hard to get into. You have to pass multiple test. And this one class could stretch on for about 4 years after graduation. 

Thea are most of the classes. But I'll probably add more. Speaking of graduation, the time one enrolls will be at the age of 15. 

They will graduate at the age of 21. Spending about six years in the school. And if you have a law class, you'll stay for an additional four years.

So those are my plans for the academy and the kingdom. Building for the future. 

Now let's go and see the family. 

-POV: Narrator- 

While inside of his solar, Rhaegar was finishing up some paperwork he received from Essos. 

His people have been sending him monthly updates on the kingdom, and its progress. In the past three years, slavery has been all but forgotten. To some, it was still ingrained into their being. 

But others have moved on quickly. Thanks to the free cities, an army of men has quickly been put together. 

Some kingdoms in the free cities have not joined his forces yet. Lys, Myr, and Tyrosh. This is the Triarchy. 

But he had a contact in Lys that keeps him up to date on all activities of the Triarchy. 

Lysandro Rogare. 

He's the lord of House Rogare, and one of the most wealthy men in the world. With their banks rivaling the iron bank of braavos. 

Rhaegar allied with them for their money of course. But for the fact that Lysandro's daughter married Viserys, son of Rhaenyra and Daemon. 

So securing them was easy. Rhaegar just said he'd make House Rogare the royal family of Lys. 

That's was enough for Lysandro and he agreed to spy on the Triarchy. 

As Rhaegar finally finished his work. The door opened and Laena, along with her handmaid, came inside with their three children. 

The fourth was still in her stomach. He was due any day now. 

The youngest was a boy, being held by the handmaid. This was Naemor, his son. He was currently a year old. 

"KEPA!!!" Yelled his daughters and they both ran up to him. 

Rhaegar scooped them up and placed them on his legs. 

"My beautiful little dragons. Have you been easy on your mother?" Asked Rhaegar. 

"Yes, me and Rhaena seen our dragons. Why do they keep them chained up? It's not nice, and dancer gets very angry." Said Baela. 

Baela and Rhaena's dragons, Moondancer and Morning, both stay in the Dragon Pit. Rhaegar tried to have them stay in the kings wood with Haedes and Vhagar. 

But the little trouble makers leave and mess with the merchants that come in and out of Kings landing. 

Both dragons are pretty big, about the size and a dog. 

"Rhaenyra and Laenor will be visiting. Your father has called for a family dinner." Said Laena. 

"My father and mother, along with Addam and Alyn will be joining." Said Laena. 

"Oh, your father's bastards? Did he legitimize them?" Asked Rhaegar. 

"No he did not, but he did take about it." Said Laena. 

"Well, let's get ready. This dinner will be a long one." Said Rhaegar. 

-Later that day- 

The dinner spread was in a large table and the seats were many. Viserys had called for all of his family to come and dine with them. 

Daemon and his children

Saera and her children. 

(A/n: I lied about Saera age. She in her 50s.)

And Alicent and her children. 

It was a big dinner. Viserys would do these every once in a while. He said that if a family can't have a dinner together, then they would be no more than strangers. 

Rhaegar didn't really care for the dinner. But since his mother and sister were there. He decided he'd participate. 

And apparently, Queen Alysanne will be there. Rhaegar has a soft spot for his grandmother, so he'd obviously go and see her. 

She stays on Dragonstone now. She in her eighties, so she can't move as good as she used to. She said she wanted to stay near Silverwing. 

Rhaegar was sitting at the table with his son on his lap. Naemor was holding a reptile in his arms. 

This was one of Haedes eggs that hatched when Naemor was born. The name of this small creature was Gaelithox. 

Named after the Valyrian god of fire, stars, moon, sun, and the dawn, rival of Meraxes. 

Gaelithox was dark grey scales with a head that had white scales. His horns weren't mature yet, but you could see how they would form. 

They looked like Deer antlers. 

Naemor was feeding his dragon a small piece of meet. Gaelithox would shoot out a pale grey flame and roast the meat. 

Apparently this fascinated Naemor. 

As Rhaegar was playing with his son. Laena and the girls waited patiently. The first to arrive was Saera and her boys. 

Aegor, the eldest walked behind his mother. He inspected the red keep and was generally surprised at its elegance. 

Aenys followed close behind and was talking with Baelor. 

They soon were met by Rhaegar. His presence was still as imposing as the first time they met. 

But after he conquered most of Essos, they all had a new found respect for him. He basically conquered a continent by himself. He had his dragon of course. 

But from what they heard. He slaughtered just as much men as his dragon did. Baelor had been itching to fight him. 

The men in Esso just couldn't cut it. There were a few that gave him a run for his money, but most of them sucked up to his mother. 

"It's good to see you, aunt Saera. You still look as beautiful as ever." Greeted Rhaegar as he kissed her on the cheek. 

"Okay, let's not flatter too much. Or else i may mount you myself." Said Saera. 

Rhaegar just smiled and went back to his seat. Laena just looked at him with a death stare. 

Saera and her boys took their seats. Soon after, Gael along with Gerald and her kids walked inside. 

Gael was arm and arm with her mother, Alysanne seen her daughter Saera and made her way over to her. 

"My daughter, these must be your sons?" Asked Alysanne. 

"Yes mother, this is my eldest, Aegor. That's my second child, Aenys. And my youngest is Baelor." Said Saera. 

"It's nice to meet you, I'm your grandmother." Said Alysanne. 

"It's nice to meet you grandmother. Mother had told me a lot about you." Said Aegor. 

Alysanne smiled and made her way over to Rhaegar. She gave him a kiss on the cheek and interacted with his children. 

After Alysanne got situated. Viserys, Queen Alicent, and Queen Aemma appeared. Behind them were all of Alicent's children. 

Alicent had on a blue dress, Helaena matched her with her blue dress. Aegon, Aemond, and Daeron had on the traditional Targaryen colors. 

Viserys greeted everyone and inquired about Daemon. 

And as he said that Daemon walked in with his son and Daughter. They had brought their Direwolves along with them. 

With Vaelor being eight and ten, he and some of the Stark bannerman had went and hunted some wildling invaders. 

Due to him have and Dragon and a direwolf. The men in the north began calling Vaelor, the Dragonwolf. 

The Dragon with wolf's blood. That's what he's been called. Among other things. His sister Alyssa was also not far behind. 

She and her wolf would terrorize the battlefield. She hadn't claimed a dragon yet. Saying she didn't want to hatch a dragon. She wanted Silverwing. 

So she decided to wait. Alyssa was a fierce fighter. She rode her direwolf into battle and shot her bow with grace. 

She was called Wolf's child. As she and her wolf, Luna would kill any Wildling in sight. She herself being only seven and ten. 

Both Alyssa and Vaelor went to greet Arthur and Ashara. Arthur was betrothed to Alyssa, and Vaelor to Ashara. 

They surprisingly didn't marry yet, despite being of age. 

As they was going on, both Corlys, and Rhaenys walked in. Rhaenyra and Laenor followed behind with their two boys. Jacaerys and Lucerys Velaryon. 

They all had on the standard Velaryon turquoise blue. Rhaenyra included. There were two other boys with Corlys. These were Addam and Alyn waters, bastard sons of Corlys. 

And with that, the last of the family had arrived. With everyone sat, Viserys took this chance to speak. 

DING! DING! DING! 

"I would like to thank you all for coming. I know we've all had our differences, but that's what a family is about. We have some much potential in this family, that we forget to do the little things. May we all have a special night. To us, the house of the dragon." Said Viserys. 

And with that, the dinner started.

Think of this chapter as the calm before the storm. Because after Aegon and Aemond claim their dragons. Otto will begin to be more ambitious. 

Otto realistically has zero reason to usurp Rhaegar. But he's doing this out of fear of being killed by Rhaegar as soon as he ascends the throne. 

So yes, one of the most rational men in the realm is starting a rebellion, due to his fear. Kind of stupid if you ask me.
