Yin Zhu was feeling really out of place when she walked up the stairs, they were too classy and clean, with marble floors and ornaments that were cleaner than her shoes. She was used to staying in her house which wasn't this clean but had a touch of warmth because of the people who lived there but this manor that was too big for her, too clean for her —— Yin Zhu did not feel like she belonged here at all. The walls of this huge manor even though spacious, felt like they were closing up on her making her feel like she was being suffocated by them.
This place was a place where she could not see her father nor could she see her sister who would scold her at the smallest mistake. The entire manor was too silent, there was no sound of anyone talking, no noise of hawkers, no neighbours chattering—— it was too silent for her liking.
