The Winds Of Change

Dunfermline,

Scotland,

1805.

"We have neared the village of Culross sire. We will be there before sun rise." said Robert the horse man.

...

...

Culross,

Scotland,

11:08am.

As the carriage made its way through the rugged Scottish landscape, Dominion gazed out the window, taking in the wild beauty of the Highlands. The rolling hills, dotted with patches of heather and the occasional farmhouse, seemed to stretch on forever, and the sky above was a vast expanse of brilliant blue. The sun shone down, casting a warm glow over the landscape.

The coachman pulled the carriage to a halt, and Dominion stepped out, taking in the fresh air. It was cooler here, and the scent of heather and grass filled the air.

As Dominion stood in the cool, fresh air, he felt a sense of calm wash over him. The breeze ruffled his hair, and he closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. He opened them again, and his gaze landed on a woman standing in a nearby field. She was bent over, gathering wildflowers, her long auburn hair blowing in the wind. There was something about her that drew him in, and he found himself walking toward her, unable to resist the urge to speak to her.

As he neared, he caught a glimpse of her face.

She had high cheekbones, framed by freckles that dotted her nose and cheeks. Her lips were full and pink, and her eyes were a striking green, framed by long, dark lashes. She looked up as he approached, and he felt his breath catch in his throat.

She smiled, and the sight of her smile was like a burst of sunlight. "Good day, sir," she said, her voice soft and melodic. She could tell from his clothing that he was English and a noble. But regardless, she asked "Do you happen to be from around here?"

Dominion found himself at a loss for words, his mind racing as he tried to compose himself.

Finally, he found his voice. "No I am not. I have travelled from London to see that urgent matters are resolved."

He contemplated but finally said "I couldn't help but notice you, out here in this beautiful field."

The woman smiled again, her eyes lighting up. "I am indeed fortunate to live in such a lovely place," she said, her voice full of pride. "My name is Janella. And you are?"

"I am Dominion," he said, returning her smile. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Janella."
