Liliana left the book she was reading in her office open as she was in deep thoughts. She didn't want the friendship between her and Tristan to crumble again. She loved how he makes her feel and how nice he was becoming. Why was his mood now so bad?
"Hey! Boyfriend stress?" Liliana lifted her gaze from the book when she heard Raquel's voice, does this woman ever think?
"I don't have a boyfriend and you know that," Liliana rolled her eyes and stood up to go watch the view from the window.
Raquel was eating a burger as she speaks. "Hey, what's wrong?" She asked, staring at Liliana's back as she took a bite of the burger again. Liliana was wearing a blue shirt tucked in long white trousers. She stared at the window checking the time through the view of the day.
She couldn't wait to get home and hear from Tristan. "It's nothing," she replied in that low tone.
"C'mon Liliana when did you start to lie?"
"When I realize it's not all my dilemmas I tell to people," Liliana's mood was also rotten, causing her to vent her mood on Raquel by saying mean words. Raquel was about to bite the burger but didn't because of what she heard Liliana say. Her gaze followed her as she sat on her chair.
"What had gotten to you, Liliana?" Raquel showed a hint of anger and hurt in her voice and the look on her face.
Liliana realized that she had been mean. "I'm sorry, I'm just too worried about something." Liliana played with the book she was reading.
"Then tell me maybe you would feel less burdened."
Liliana stared at Raquel, thinking if she should tell her or not. She grunted. "It's Tristan," she said.
Raquel narrowed her gaze. "You mean your, evil arrogant neighbor?"
Liliana knew Raquel was always interested in knowing what Tristan does as she despises him so much.
Liliana waved her hand for her to seat back because she was already standing on her feet. "Tell me, he did something to you right?"
Liliana nodded. "He made me this worried," she replied. Raquel let out that sigh of frustration.
"That..."
"No, don't curse him," Liliana hushed her. "He didn't do anything wrong this time."
"Huh?" Raquel was surprised, by the look on his face the moment she set her eyes on him. She saw he wasn't a good man and for some reason, she hadn't figured out yet, she hated that man named Tristan. "I think you are covering up for him. Are you perhaps falling for that ugly man?" Raquel asked with widened eyes.
Liliana narrowed her gaze, if only she knew how handsome Tristan was. "He's not ugly," Liliana told her strictly.
Raquel's jaw dropped and she dropped the burger before fully placing her attention on Liliana. "Did he kiss you again?" She asked. "Because you are acting crazy,"
Liliana pursed her lips recalling how he harped about the kiss yesterday and then recalled his mood this morning. "No."
"Hmm," Raquel picked the burger again.
"He apologized to me for hurting me that night by buying me a teddy bear and sending a note. We cooked together last night and we are already on good terms but he had this bad mood this morning which is making me worry."
Raquel looked in awe. "Really, you guys are friends now?"
Liliana nodded. "But..."
"Do you like him, Liliana?"
That question shocked her. "No! We are just friends okay?"
"I know but Liliana, Tristan is a man and you are beautiful. Up till now, I still wonder how you still keep yourself pure because you are damn hot, I tell you and I'm sure Tristan must have seen that and is interested in you. He would want you for sure especially if he knows you are pure...Does he?"
Liliana's eyes replied before she could. "Yes."
"How? You told him?"
"He found out, and I don't know how."
"Huh?"
"Raquel please don't question me further, I have a lot in my head." Liliana placed her head on the table thinking of the question Raquel asked her just now. Yes, she likes Tristan but as friends. Right? She asked herself.
"Liliana..." Raquel groaned and stare at her friend with concern. What had she gotten herself into? Liliana was clearly into that man Tristan and she didn't know why she felt unapproving of it.
. . .
Tristan arrived at the orphanage he dropped Xander in a few days ago to find it burnt down. He had read in the newspaper of an explosion in the orphanage and he felt bad to see Xander's name among the affected victims. Xander is dead. Why? Why that cute little boy?
Tristan requested he sees the little boy and was led to where they placed the dead victims and he sighted the boy among them, Tristan's heart was crushed as he recalled the hug the little boy threw to him before departing from him. He recalled his cute eyes that made him feel attached to him.
Xander didn't deserve this, he covered him back with the curtain and turned away with a sad heart. Tristan would have burst into tears if he was human but he held back the urge to weep for the poor child. Xander was a good kid, he was loving and cute. Tristan sighed as he walked down the corridor, sighting every part of the burnt areas, and then decided to see what happened that caused the explosion.
Tristan place his opened palm on the ground before closing his eyes and focusing on seeing what happened. He saw as agencies carried the victim, he saw the vision of last night as the workers walked by having conversations of their own and then he stopped reversing when saw two men in Black running suspiciously and then when they got out of the orphanage, one of them pressed a button on the control he had in his hand and what followed was the loud blast that awoke Tristan from his vision.
He looked around to see the disaster caused by that bomb and for what? Tristan had clenched fists as he glared into space realizing that this was his father's plan and skim. Why was he so after his life?
Why did he want revenge on something he did but was ordered to? Tristan's rage increased that he began to hit the wall so hard multiple times holding back not to scream out. He caused the death of that sweet little boy!
Tristan owed him a lot. Xander helped him and he thought helping him back was finding a home for him but instead, he involved the little boy in his life's dilemmas.
Tristan raked his hair with fingers and he threw his back to the wall, sliding down slowly until his bottom touched the ground and then he covered his face with his huge hands. He was frustrated and hurt deeply.
Tristan hadn't felt this way for anyone and now that he was, he felt stabbed and guilty. He caused death to everyone even though he deliberately didn't want to. Even now, his Landlady is in danger because of him. This was too much for him to handle but he could handle it. He shouldn't let his father take Liliana too. He had to protect that girl.
