Chapter 17 of chapter 4 Dark mind

Marcus eyes wide at him, he tried to calmed himself down. The first thing to do, was to get Arthur out of here before he get suspicious of Emily. 

"Why don't we go somewhere better to discuss"  he dragged on Arthur hand, like a child who was going to be scolded by his father.  and them both walks down the corridor in slience. 

Arthur turn to look at the man who have grown up with him all these years. He had trusted him and believe Marcus can never go against him. Marcus was the only person person he had finally trust but the way he was feeling anxious now, he believes he's hiding something and doesn't want him to know.

Without pushing it further,  he let it go, when he's ready. He would make him know...

"Of course, I have put my trust in you since the day I first met you" a mysterious grins appear on his lips as his eyes stared further in no direction.

Narrator Pov...... 

"Lady Angela!"  Isabella shouted surprisingly. The room was filled with suspicious looks on the lady with a ugly scar on face. She felt relief that Isabella recognize her, with that she wanted to make a step but was stopped by the strong grips of lady Charlotte pulling her back to where she stands. 

"Where did you think you're going?" She asked seriously. As her eyes twinkle red, Lady Angela who catch the blinks change of the lady eyes immediately understand who she really is! She must be one of the hidden night creature! For what she has known, the night creature are really secretly. It was hard to tell who is who, and more of them are high people in the society hidding under their position. 

But apart for all, the leader in theirs mist is no one but the Duke. After the deaths of the late Duke, the young man was put in the position of his father, as the heir of the dark world which know only by it elites. 

Lady Angela, who had experience with this night creatures before. And how heartless them can be. They're not just dead people sucking the blood of human to live but also read the thoughts and emotions of people. 

Nothing can be hide in their presence. It takes life to escape the mind read of the night creature. The way lady Charlotte grip hard on her wrist, and her eyes color change, she's one of the night creature. It would be better if she gets her wrist from her strong hand. 

"It's is not appropriate for someone like you to get close to the duchess" lady Charlotte said coldly, while her grips were still hold on to lady Angela wrist tightly! 

"Milady, you're hurting me" Lady Angela plead but the woman standing in front of her tighten the grip. She is feeling something wrong about the maid, holding  her wrist, she felt something dangerous about this maid. 

What is a common maid like she planning to do. As she could feel the tension of hatred and pain in her heart. 

This maid is up to no good. She can't allowed her to come close to Lady Isabella. 

Lady Angela who looks frighten, sweating profusely not for the lady to catch what she was thinking. The night creature are fucking good on this reading  of mind. Angela tired to blinks off all her thoughts.  But that didn't release lady Charlotte grip on her. 

"Please milady, you're hurting me now" lady Angela cried,  tried to sound  petty hurt that would be the only way she can escape the grips of the woman staring suspiciously at her. 

Isabella couldn't take more of lady Charlotte behavior , And barked "Lady Charlotte, I think that's enough!"Lady  Angela isn't just a cook  but also one of her benefits. 

"She's not just a maid but also my friend! Beside, you're hurting her! " Isabella snorted harshly. Even though she would soon  become their duchess. That didn't mean that she would allow her friend to be treated that way.  Everyone in the room looked at her with astonishment, she had never speak like that before but now she had been granted the right as the Duke woman. It would be better if she starts using that power. Instead of being a push over all her life. In fact that the reason the Duke calls her his woman. Being the woman of the Duke means power....

With no further obligation, lady Charlotte simply let go of Angela wrist. But her instincts was still  pointing something wrong about this lady. She might seem innocent but her heart isn't that same with her face. 

She ran to Isabella, and embrace her. Angela acted she missed her. "Lady Isabella, I miss you so much. Thank God you're alive!" She exclaimed, whlie lady Charlotte eyes glared on her suspiciously. 

"Lady Angela, how have you been? I thought you're a kitchen cook. What are you doing serving?" Isabella asked, she was quiet surprised to seen lady Angela serving food. She normally base in the kitchen nor serving the lord's regular. 

"I just want to see you, it have been a while. And you have been in the coma for some days. When I heard you awake. I was over joy, dying to see you. I miss you" she embraced her again. Lady Charlotte was feeling in irritating with the maid behavior. She knew she was just acting. Her smile, her words are all fake! She's faking it to get closer to the Duke woman.  With that she refused to leave the room and stood at the door entrance to watch the woman with close eyes.

"You don't have to worry lady Angela. We miss you too" Lily said, she had been quiet all these while because of her secret relationship with Marcus have be expose out to Isabella unexpected way. She was planning to tell her but not yet. Still thinking if she would end up later to be Marcus wife not just his lover. 

Lady Angela nodded, she had to play innocent and simple around Isabella. This was part of the plan. To get Isabella trust. If she successful link the Isabella to her side, she would proceed with the further arrangements. But the scary gaze of that woman scared her. She wasn't expecting to meet another night creatures in this mansion. The only she was told was a night creatures was the Duke! If this woman was a night creatures, that's means there are more than one in the mansion. The Duke isn't just the only night creatures... She but on her lips to compose herself from the terrifying gaze of lady Charlotte. 

"Whlie don't you have a seat with us" Isabella insisted, she was happy to seen lady Angela. Now the only person she was dying to seen is Emma. She had missed her a lot...

"Lady Isabella, I don't think that a good idea" lady Angela rejected. With that eyes on her, it would be uncomfortable for her to be herself around Isabella. 

"Yes milady, that isn't a good idea. I support the maid on this" lady Charlotte suggested seriously. 

Isabella who can see, lady Angela was frighten because of Lady Charlotte, didn't bother to listen to her words. Instead she grabbed on lady Angela hand and pulled her to sit. 

"I don't think that necessary for my friend to have a meal with me isn't bad or is it lady Lily?" 

Lily who was impressed with the girl new attitude, nodded in support. Beside, a friend of Isabella is also her friend.

"Now, we can have our meal" Lady Lily added. Whlie lady Angela smiled wardly and looked at the lady who stood by the door side with burning face. She turned back to face the two young ladies on the table. She felt a bit relief. As far Isabella is on her side, she didn't have to been afraid. 

Lady Charlotte never approved of this but she had no choice. Since the future duchess have spoken, she had no power but to obey her while her eyes would beon the lady with a ugly scar. 

"Let's eat!" Lily called. 

Whlie the two extra maids served the table.

Lady Angela smile mysteriously staring at the black girl dress in rich clothes. Isabella who catch her eyes, smiled back unknown to her what's in the heart of the woman.
