When we got to the supermarket Benedio pushed the cart whilst Ma walked next to him and I trailed behind them. I just grabbed whatever I felt him and I would need to make our own food for the next few days.
"Dito, do you want ice cream?" I asked him as we came to a frozen food section.
"Yes," he grinned therefore I grabbed peppermint chocolate, vanilla and his new favorite strawberry with meringue bits.
"You know I make my own homemade ice cream," Ma beamed as she looked up to Benedito.
"Really?" he asked amazed. His chefs made him their own sometimes but he often said they lacked soul. I had no idea what that meant. "You'll have to teach me. I'm always looking for new flavors and techniques."
"I taught Billie once," Ma looked at me with a smile before it turned to a frown, "but I'm sure he has forgotten already."
I scratched the back of my head nervously, "it dem bulls Ma."
