Chapter 16: Cursed New? World

Riser POV

After all the "training", and testing out all the abilities that I had that leveled up I was feeling more confident on our trip, even if we land in the middle of a battle like, the middle of fighting Kaguya Otsutsuki in Naruto, I am confident that I can handle it. As long as it is not a world where conceptual abilities exist I can handle anything.

Like the spear of Cu Chulainn, where the cause and effect is reversed, where instead of you thrust the spear and the heart is pierced. It instead becomes the heart is pierced so the spear was thrust. Infinity wouldn't matter in that case afterall, the heart is already pierced no matter what I do, and it has an effect where it is hard to heal. Not impossible but hard.

But Gae Buidhe also exists which just prevents healing in general. Yeah, I hope I don't land in the Fate Series yet, or any world where conceptual powers are common. Not to mention, if I ever land in Fate, a certain king would not just try to kill me, he would start tweaking and could actually try to Enuma Elish me on sight. 

If a faker like Emiya Shirou irritated him because of his fake weapons, what would he do against me who has his face… Enuma Elish would kill me instantly. Limitless is useless against a power that twists space itself and has the power of creation of the universe itself. A big bang in the concentrated power of a beam, though if I have Unlimited Void, it could be different. If I use it at the start that is.

Anyways Rias actually left the Phenex Mansion and went back to her peerage, she told me she was worried about them and to just contact her whenever I am ready to actually go on the trip. Though she kind of still has that suspicious look in her face when looking at me. She really doesn't believe me about the Isekai but she has hopes that it was real.

It speaks volume that she even trusts me enough to actually do that. When she went back, I told her to keep practicing until she didn't need her magic circle anymore, that drawing on her power seems instinctual. Power types like her don't need it after all. Only nerds like Ajuka Beelzebub, who has the Kankara formula and fights intellectually, need those.

I also told her to settle all her business with her peerage and to say goodbye to them, she asked me if she could bring them with her but I convinced her that we would be scouting and it would be safer for her family if they stayed here for now and we would get them next time.

And now after a few days, I finally called out to her and said that everything was ready.

And without any affairs, she arrived in the Gremory magic circle. She had a lot of bags with her. I mean, yeah, I did say this was like a vacation but, I didn't think she would take it so literally.

"So, how are we going to Isekai, Riser?" She told me with star eyes, giddy to become like those light novel characters she read about.

"Just hold my hand Rias and close your eyes." I said extending my hand to hers. She blushed like a schoolgirl… She really is too easy.

A portal appeared in the wall adjacent to us. Haa, thankfully it worked. Let me explain "Exit Stage Left" can't be used willy-nilly. There is a progress bar that must be filled and then you can travel to another world. Though it is random, which world you land in. How do you fill up the progress bar you ask? You have to do achievements, like capturing waifus, progressing in the story, and the like. Think of it like Genshin or Wuthering Waves, you have to earn points to progress in the story.

In this case, to travel to a different world instead of an area.

Saying goodbye for now to this world I lead Rias towards the blurry portal, kind of like the mist portal from Souls games actually.

Then the door to my room flung open and my peerage came in droves, "Onii-sama! Wait!" Ravel shouted at me. This is why I made this meeting into a secret, as much as I want to make them come with me. I can't babysit all of them at the same time, they are too weak for traveling yet. I could take Ravel but she is too precious to put in danger.

As for Rias… This trip is to seduce her fully after all, in a new world she can only rely on me after all.

And too bad they came a little too late. We were already halfway through the portal, when they barged in and after we fully entered the portal, it closed immediately.

And what I saw triggered a PTSD in me. Because this place is where it all started. Where it all went downhill. The place where the memes started.

This is the place where lobotomy started.

It was night where we landed, high rise buildings were everywhere and we were in the famous crossing of Japan. This is Shibuya. We were at the Shibuya crossing.

Oh god, oww, fuck. I am already stressed out. Please, please tell me we aren't at the Shibuya incident, I don't want to relive that meme filled, lobotomy filled battlefield that Gege did. Because just hearing the memes will rot my brain for real.

Will I lose though? Nah, I'd win… Oh no my rotted brain is starting…

Surprisingly, not much has happened actually, after that first night panic, nothing really happened. Don't tell me we landed in a slice of life anime. Because if that is the case, we aren't going to be able to come back.

I told you all that 'Exit Stage Left' functions with a progress bar but it also considers the ranking or tier of each world. Highschool DxD is a Tier 6 in the beginning of the series. But if you travel in a lower world like Food Wars which is a Tier 1, a second 'penalty' bar will appear above the regular progress bar. And it must be filled before the regular progress bar will start to move. The larger the gap between the two ratings, the more work you'll need to do in the new world.

And if this world is a slice of life, it would practically be impossible to actually go back.

Haa, what should we even do here?

"Riser, what are you doing standing there, come on, we have to go check out more things here!!" Rias beckoned me excitedly, with a bright smile to her face

"Alright, alright." I catch up to her with an exhausted smile on my face. We really got close these past few days. I got to actually know this woman for who she really is, and not the biased view that the memories of Riser had for her.

She was a bright woman. Almost too bright, her smile was pure, so unlike a devil. She was a selfish, spoiled princess but she was kinder and more compassionate to the people she considers friends and families. She fully incorporated anime lessons in her life, and she fully believes that she is a protagonist.

The only flaw I could see was her lazy attitude but she is growing out of it. These past few days I could see how hard she was working, she only needed the right incentive to actually train as hard as she can. And so I used her love for anime as much as I could.

I started her off easy and taught her how to use her own version of spirit gun, and she proceeded to use it the whole day after. I told her to compress it to make it more powerful but I don't really know if she listened to me. At least she didn't need to use any magic circle anymore, her control of her power of destruction became even better as I started to teach her on a one on one basis.

That also took a part in why we became closer. 'Don't Stand so Close to Me' makes it so anyone you teach or you are taught by makes them more closer and affectionate to you. Especially effective in a one on one setting. So we really became close afterwards.

And then she now demands(begs) to have a massage after training, she offhandedly told me that after training Akeno and her massages each other as a reward for training. We are actually just staying here in Shibuya most of the time and we just go on dates. There must be a reason we were transported to Shibuya after all so we just stayed here most of the time. There were advertisements about some idol that was familiar to me but I couldn't really put my finger on who she is.

She looked familiar so I knew there was some connection to some story that I knew around here.

"Ne, Riser, let's go to that store." Rias pointed to the bookstore, no doubt wanting to get more manga. According to her, reading manga from another world makes her creative juices get running smoother. Yeah, that's not the only juice coming out of her every session we have.

But going to the bookstore, it looks familiar too. Actually this whole street in general just looks familiar to me. There's this nostalgia that I feel, like I should know this street and there's this feeling of how dare I forget this sight.

I just don't know what is making me feel this way.

"Riser-kun, look at this. It looks a little interesting doesn't it?" She told me, pointing at a certain page in a book.

It looked like a manga about Sentai, or in other words, power rangers. Huh, there's sentai here too.

Wait…

Did she just call me?

"Riser-kun?" I asked her dumbfoundedly.

"I mean, you weren't paying attention to me so I wanted to see if you would notice me calling you that." She said looking away from me but her ears told a different story as it was as crimson as her hair.

Hehe, I got her. This really was too easy. Though as much as I want to say that I am an evil mastermind that planned all this out and that I am just manipulating her… haa, I have to admit that I have fallen for her too.

Spending time with a woman like her, and she is a woman, I have personally experienced, groped and massaged her enough to know that. She really is perfect. I don't know how else to describe it.

"I am with you, you know. Of course I am paying attention to you. You think that I wouldn't pay attention to my fiance?" I whispered to her ear, making her shudder as my hot breath tickled her sensitive ears.

Walking out of the store, I get that niggling feeling of familiarity again. And then time stopped.

What the fuck?

"Riser-kun, what's that?" Rias pointed at something in the middle of the Shibuya Crossing. It was a pillar of flames. A blue pillar of flames with orange flames making a crude grinning face in the middle of it.

Okay, I really am stupid to not recognize this world now. Because I know where we are now.

Finally we are at the start of Arc 2, the seduction of Rias which has already started. We'll see more of their relationship in the future. And well, we will see the protagonist of this world, next chapter. Hopefully it would be a better introduction than what happened with Issei. Character development will also go around… I hope.
