Talk to Him

Paijo stood with his hands tucked into his pockets. His eagle eyes continued to stare at me intently.

Oh shit! He did it again! I hate that look! His gaze was so terrifying, and intimidating.

"What are you talking about? Hurry up, before the guys gather!" cried Paijo in an even tone.

"The guys say, you're a friendly person, and you care about women! But, why are you always cursing at me?!" I asked bluntly.

Paijo's brows furrowed, he took his hands out of his pockets, and immediately folded them proudly in front of his chest.

"So, what's the point? You want me to be friendly, and pay attention to you?!" cynical Paijo.

My hands clenched into fists seeing Paijo's gaze that seemed to be looking down on me.

Who wants to be noticed by him?!

"I don't need to be fine with you either, but at least, can you not be harsh, mean, fierce, and anti-meaning like that?!" I exclaimed annoyed.

"Huh?" Paijo shrieked in confusion.

"Seriously, Jo! I'm having a hard time sleeping because of you! I always think, what did I do wrong with you, why are you acting like that with me! Now let's be honest! What did I do wrong with you? Did I offend you? Or what? By the way, Jo, talk! Don't let people ignore you, tease people! You have that mouth to speak!" I must have lost my mind.

But whatever, I don't care anymore! I'm tired and sick of his treatment!

We were both silent for a long time until suddenly Paijo burst out laughing.

I gaped in disbelief, he did. What part of my sentence was so funny that he could laugh so shrilly?

Which part?

"Why are you even laughing?!" I shouted annoyed.

Paijo ignored me and continued his strange laugh. Seriously, how can Yogo, Naya, and the rest of the Roullete guys survive being friends with this one freak guy? He sucks!

I leaned against the wall and silently waited for the man to finish laughing. I wish I could be Squidward, and tell him that his laugh box will break if he keeps laughing. But unfortunately, I'm very sure if he is not as stupid as Spongebob who will believe my words.

"Well, laughing?" I sneered as soon as Paijo stopped laughing.

Paijo smiled crookedly, he took one step closer to me, then leveled our faces. Of course, he had to look down a little considering his height which I could guess was more than 180 centimeters.

Paijo stared at me intently.

"You're weird, funny, annoying, you know! If it wasn't Bambang's younger sister, I'd already bag you, then I'll take you home!"

Wait! What does this man mean? Carried? Various kinds of questions immediately circled in my mind.

"you're small, strange, and noisy!" Paijo commented while taking a step away from me. The man stood up straight again and put his hands in his trouser pockets.

So cool!

"Come on, disband! Later if someone sees us here, we might be thought to be doing perverts!"

I flinched at Paijo's words. But, what he said did make sense too. We were at the back of the school, anyone who saw us would have negative thoughts.

"Wait!" I screamed while holding Paijo's arm as he was about to leave.

"What?" asked the man in a tone, and a level expression on his face.

"You haven't answered my question earlier! Answer first, then go!"

"Which question?"

I scowled, I wanted to smack his head.

"Why are you being so mean to me?"

"Oh," Paijo said quietly.

Oh? Just oh? Good grief!

"Oh? So what's the answer?!" I'm pissed off by it.

Paijo came closer to me, then stared intently into my eyes.

"The answer ... think for yourself!"

After saying that, Paijo gently nudged my forehead with the tip of his index finger, then walked leisurely away from me.

It's of no use. It's useless I invite him to chat one-on-one here. Ah, I even left my lunch.

Now what?

***

I gasped in surprise when several packets of bread, and banana milk suddenly appeared in front of me. I looked up to see who had put the food on my table, and it turned out to be Gepeng.

The man smiled sweetly, then sat on the bench in front of my desk. The man's smile seemed contagious because the corners of my lips lifted automatically when I saw him.

"Where were you, why didn't you go to the canteen?" asked Gepeng slowly.

"Test my sanity and patience," I said originally.

I also took the banana milk given by Gepeng, and drank it.

"How? I failed to understand," said Gepeng confused.

I smiled widely, then nodded slowly.

"Thanks for the milk and bread!" I exclaimed as I took one of the buns, and opened the plastic.

Gepeng smiled faintly. His hand reached out and gently caressed the top of my head.

Wait! Why did he do that? What if I get carried away by his attitude? That sucks!

"Mel, if I ask you something, do you think you will accept my request, won't you?" asked Gepeng suddenly.

I stopped eating and looked up at the man in front of me.

"What do you want? If I can afford it, I'll do it!" I said quickly.

Of course, all this time Gepeng has been very good to me. One request is not a problem, right?

"You don't get too close to Paijo, okay?"

"What?" I screamed in surprise.

I don't know, I feel Gepeng's request is very strange. Why would he make such a request? Is it because Paijo is a playboy, so Gepeng is afraid that I will like him and my heart is broken? If it's because of that, he doesn't need to worry because I'm not interested in him after all.

"Okay, but why? He's a Roullete too, right? He's your friend, why would you ask for something like that?" I asked quietly.

Gepeng nodded slowly.

"It's not that he's not good or anything, but I'm afraid I'll be jealous if I see you close to him!"

Cough!

I immediately choked on the bread I ate when I heard Gepeng's words.

The man hastily gave the banana milk nearby, to me.

"Eat slowly, people don't ask for it too! You look like kids," Gepeng commented while shaking his head slowly.

Before I could answer, the bell signaling the end of the break had rung.

"Hurry up and finish it! Hurry up the teacher is coming!"

After saying that, Gepeng hurriedly left my class.

Just now, did I hear wrong or what? Jealousy? Ah, must have heard wrong.

I chuckled softly, laughing at my strange thoughts of immediately traveling, wondering if Gepeng did say that he was jealous of Paijo.

Okay, where's my brain?

"Yuhuuu, after you get a declaration of love, keep smiling, you won't be able to concentrate on the lesson, here!" said Nisa, who has been sitting next to me for some time.

"What? How? What statement?" I asked confused.

"Yeah, when Gepeng said he was jealous, he automatically said that he liked you! What the heck, you! That's weird!"

"Huh? Gepeng said jealous?" I screamed in surprise.

"Your ears are normal, right? I was the one sitting in the back listening when he said, how come you in front of him didn't hear! Wow, this is dangerous!"
