Chapter - 5
Yueliang Shen stood in the middle of the hall behind the podium, watching as the immortals slowly filled the seats arranged in a circular manner around him. Since he was the one to summon this meeting, he would be the first to address the hall and present the matter before them.
His status as the Moon God commanded immense respect, and everyone had answered his summons immediately.
The hall was soon filled with a diverse assembly of immortals. There was Ming Zhao, the Sun Emperor, his presence radiant and commanding; Shui Jian, the Water King, his aura calm and fluid; Feng Jun, the Phoenix Lord, exuding fiery energy; and many others, each bringing their unique power and presence to the gathering. They whispered among themselves, puzzled by the urgency of the meeting.
"Listen up you all," Yueliang Shen cleared his throat loudly, the sound reverberating through the hall and silencing the murmurs instantly. All eyes turned to him, their curiosity and apprehension palpable.
"Today, we are all gathered here to talk about something that has been ignored for too long," Yueliang Shen began, his voice echoing with a mix of authority and simmering anger. "It has brought immense disgrace to our world. Today, we need to find a way to punish that rascal."
"Who?" One of the over enthused Immortals asked. It was very hard for someone like him to be in the presence of any one of these big shots, let alone so many of them. It was a chance for those like him come into their good books.
"Who dares to enrage the Moon God? Is he tired of living in the Immortal World?" Seeing someone else take the lead, another immortal stood up, not wanting to be left behind.
"Yes... Yes... Which bastard is tired of living?"
"Tell us."
"We will throw that bastard in your feet."
The immortals around the table were suddenly over-hyped, throwing curses, ready for a fight. They did not care who the enemy was, they just wanted to do something for the Moon God.
"Chen Haoyu." Yueliang Shen suddenly spoke amidst all the chest thumping and flamboyance of many of those shouting their throats out.
And just as he expected. As soon as Chen Haoyu's name was thrown in front of them. The room suddenly fell silent.
A ripple of surprise and unease swept through the room. every one of them exchanged anxious glances, their expressions a mixture of fear and reluctant acknowledgment. Everyone knew of Chen Haoyu's misdeeds, but no one had dared to openly challenge him. His power and influence had made him untouchable, his tyranny unchecked.
Yueliang Shen's eyes swept over the assembled immortals, noting their trepidation. "I know what you're all thinking," he continued, his voice steady and resolute. "Chen Haoyu has wronged many of you, seduced our wives and daughters, and trampled on the sanctity of our bonds. Yet, we have remained silent, too fearful to act."
Ming Zhao leaned forward, his golden eyes narrowing with interest. "Are you suggesting we confront him directly, Yueliang Shen? You know his power rivals 'HIM'."
Shui Jian nodded, his serene face troubled. "He has been a plague among us, but his combat skills and forbidden techniques make him a formidable foe."
Yueliang Shen's jaw tightened, his anger fueling his determination. "I am suggesting that we unite against him. Alone, we may not stand a chance, but together, we can overpower him. His reign of terror must end."
A murmur of agreement began to build, hesitant at first but growing stronger.
"So has the Moon Goddess also…" Suddenly, one of the immortals dared to ask, his voice trailing off as he glanced nervously at Yueliang Shen.
In an instant, Yueliang Shen's eyes blazed with fury, turning a deep, menacing red. His muscles tightened, and he took a threatening step towards the speaker. "Stay in your limits, you bloody fool, and keep my wife's name out of your mouth, or I will rip off your tongue," Yuz growled, his Profound Qi flaring up, almost choking the unfortunate immortal. The intensity of Yuz's anger filled the room, making the air heavy and stifling.
The immortal, who had raised the question, looked like he wanted to defend himself, but the warning look from Yueliang Shen and a firm tap on his shoulder from his neighbor made him think twice.
He reluctantly sat back down, his face flushed with embarrassment and fear. Nobody dared to question Yueliang Shen about this again, but the truth was clear to everyone: Chen Haoyu's actions had indeed reached the Moon Palace, and Yueliang Shen's fury was not just professional but deeply personal.
Murmurs arose among the inhabitants of the hall, a mix of fear and curiosity spreading through the room. The immortals were acutely aware of the danger in crossing Chen Haoyu; it was akin to courting death. Yueliang Shen's outburst had only highlighted the gravity of the situation, making the task ahead seem even more daunting.
Yueliang Shen took a deep breath, trying to reign in his anger. He needed to keep the focus on their common enemy, not on his personal grievances.
"I know you all are scared of what might happen, but I assure you, Chen Haoyu knows nothing about this meeting. His power is formidable, yes, but he is not invincible. Even I had some trouble shooing him away from my palace," Yuz admitted, his voice steadier now, but still tinged with the underlying anger and determination.
He scanned the room, his gaze meeting each immortal's eyes, silently urging them to find their courage. "We have allowed Chen Haoyu to run rampant for too long. His tyranny has made us forget our own strength, our own power. Alone, we may falter, but united, we are a force to be reckoned with. We must combine our strengths, our knowledge, and our resolve. Only then can we hope to defeat him."
The room grew quieter, the immortals absorbing Yueliang Shen's words. The initial fear began to give way to a burgeoning sense of resolve. They had all suffered at Chen Haoyu's hands, and the time for retribution was long overdue.
Feng Jun, the Phoenix Lord, stood up, his fiery aura blazing even brighter. "Yueliang Shen is right. We cannot allow fear to paralyze us any longer. Chen Haoyu has exploited our divisions, our hesitations. But no more. We will stand together, and we will bring him down."
Everyone nodded, the gravity of the situation weighing heavily on their minds. Chen Haoyu's powers were a mystery to all. He stood undefeated; whoever had faced him never stayed alive to tell the tale. His legend was built on the corpses of those who had dared to oppose him.
"Chen Haoyu has already done this to many of you," Yueliang Shen spoke loudly and clearly, his voice resonating through the hall.
"Many of us here have already been infected by his immoral acts, but this must now come to an end. I had hoped that Chen Haoyu would rectify his ways, and respecting his strength and power, I had stayed silent on the matter. But this has now reached a tipping point. We need to stop Chen Haoyu from doing any more damage."
For a few seconds, nobody spoke. The silence was thick with tension, every immortal on high alert, scared that Chen Haoyu might emerge from any corner of the hall. The fear was palpable, a proof to the terror Chen Haoyu had sown among them.
"Chen Haoyu has brought nothing but disgrace to us," While everyone was silent, an old skinny man among the bunch spoke up, stroking his beard, "Instead of using his power for the betterment of our world, he has misused it, defiling several wives and daughters. His life merely brings disgrace to our world."
"Now we need to take matters into our own hands."
"Now is the time, and our duty to avenge our women." The old Man spoke.
"But do they want to be avenged?"
