Two days later the castle of Ironheart had no change, the training of both the soldiers and the Princess magic still continued, however, Berthold still feeling a little worried.
He keeps walking in a circle inside his office while pondering about something and sometimes glanced up to the outside of the window for a moment before walking in a circle again. The old servant beside the door looking at his lord keep doing this for two days straight cannot help but also getting nervous.
They know that the Windrider bird could fly in fast speed, but cannot keep using fast speed for too long, or all the feathers would fall off. But, waiting for something could become so restless for them. Are they safe? Are they already in the way here? This question keeps appearing in their head and made them unable to sleep, and for Berthold who was known as the person who always sleeping when in free time now had a black eyebag under his eyes.
The old servant was worried about the madam but also worried about his lord which was pushing himself because he locked himself inside the office and denied entry or always made an excuse even for the Princess or Natasha inquiry. The servant could only reassure (lie) to them that Berthold only busy thinking about the attacking plan or something he could think of.
Before long, Berthold pushed both of his hand to the table while his head hung low. "Why… We are promised to marry in next month… Why did this happening…" he clenched both his hands and his eyes turned red.
The old servant couldn't bear to see his lord suffering and approaching him before his leg stopped. His face showed a shock.
"M-my lord… Iskarr is back!" He shouted.
Berthold reply was silent, but his body more honest. He turned around and dashed to open the window and unhesitantly grabbed the shocked Windrider Bird. However, Bertold frowned. Because Iskarr feathers not changed to blue, but still red-ruby. This made his hand trembled with fear.
'Please don't!' He prayed in his mind then noticed that Iskarr has 2 letter in his feet. He glanced at the left feet which is where they would write the letter and reply, so he worriedly looked at the right feet. His suspicious made him unconsciously reached to the right feet, however, the old servant near him shouted.
"My lord, that's the madam reply, right? Let's read it!" He looked excited and made Berthold's hand flinched for a second before then he opened the string on Iskarr left feet then opened the letter.
[Dear, thanks for the warning. Fortunately, Knight Northon scout detected the enemy armies movements in time and we prepared to move when the report coming so we are now en route to your place. We ride on horses, please wait for my arrival. I miss you so much.
Note: I will bring Iskarr for a moment and would send him when we are a day far from you.]
Berthold released a breath of relief and the old servant also smiled while wiping the happy tear on his eyes. However, Bertold then frowned. He stared at the letter in his hand and to the Iskarr red-ruby feathers, then a realization hit him.
"Wait, in the letter said that she would send Iskarr when she was a day far from this place… But it's only two days after I send the letter, naturally, they need a week or at least four days… But if it's so, that they reach here… Why not one of my scout reporting to me?" He then glanced at the old servant with his smile frozen.
"…It's true my lord… Our people know well about madam and would surely bring her along as fast as possible while Iskarr flying above them… Usually when Iskarr here, Madam would already knocking this door…"
Both of them then exchanged glance then turned to the last letter on Iskarr right feet, they now noticed something weird. Until now they never see Iskarr so silent and not squawking while getting hold by someone for a long time, as Iskarr loved freedom. That's why they never let Iskarr inside the cage and let him fly, that's why the other never see them.
Then both of them are shocked seeing many bruises could be seen on Iskarr body. Berthold frowned then tore the string on Iskarr right hand, take the letter then shouted at the old servant. "Bring Iskarr to Mary now!"
The old servant could not dally any longer and hugs Iskarr while he dashed to the door. When he just opened the door, he can hear a loud boom behind him and saw his lord in anger which splitting the table in two, shocked him.
"How dare they!!" His face paled and he gritted in anger, he then turned toward his servant. "This is emergency, tell the other commander to gather at the meeting hall after you give Iskarr the treatment!"
The old servant then bowed down. "Yes, sir!" before rushed down to meet Mary.
Berthold who are now alone grasped the letter in his hand in fury, but his pale face made him looks so gloomy. His trembling leg then cannot support his body as he slid down with his head hung low.
"Why… Why did this happening…"
His eyes show a devoid of life as he blankly looked at the letter which is dirtied by blood. He sure it wasn't his blood, but someone else blood. And the content of the letter made him tremble. This wasn't a good sign.
