Stephanie was the first person to leave after giving Amari one last glare. Amari didn't seem to mind her at all. She didn't even spare her a glance.
"Are you sure nothing happened to you?" Diane asked, stepping forward and peering into Amari's green eyes with her bluish green eyes filled with concern.
Amari drew a sharp breath, and then managed a smile as she shook her head at Diane in negation.
"So we meet tonight… I can grab the shovels we need, you know my dad had a maintenance store, we still have a lot of his tools in our attic," Nick said and Amari nodded. He left and Stephen followed right after him.
"Later Amari," Diane said, flashing Amari a smile before she left.
Left with just Nathan, Amari became painfully aware of his quizzical gaze on her. She turned to look at him, and then quickly looked away as she started to walk.
"Amari," he reached out to hold her hand and she flinched, turning to look at him.
