Laya is missing

Ch-79

Pain

The pain was the only thing she could feel all over her body. Her world was as dark as an abyss.

She tried to move but some constraints were stopping her. What were they? She tried to move her hands, but she found they were tied. She tried to move her cramped legs but they were tied too. Laya could feel she was tied to a pole, not a chair. The cold floor was making her shiver badly. When she tried to move the ropes which were tied to her hands and legs tightened making her moan in pain. The blindfold on her eyes made her unable to see anything around her.

All she remembered was sending a text to Rahul that she was returning home in a taxi alone. Then Rahul called her, but before she could lift the call, two men entered the taxi with a dangerous aura making her feel scared. Before she could ask them why did they board the taxi she drifted into a deep dark world.

She wanted to shout to ask if there was anybody around her. She wanted to shout and ask who were they? What's their purpose? And what do they need? But her throat was burning as if a fire was put on her throat.

Her saree, she wasn't sure if it was in one piece or not. She doesn't know if her child was affected by the spray or whatever they sprayed on her face.

Laya fell into a deep slumber again.

—-------------------

Rahul immersed himself in his tight scheduled meetings. When he was in a meeting he heard a beep sound. He set his phone to beep or to ring only when Laya messaged him or called him.

Seeing her text, he frowned. "Let's continue in five minutes," he said and got up from his seat surprising others. He was not a person to abandon the meeting because of a message. But they understood that it must be their lady boss and smiled.

Rahul went out and dailed her number. The moment she picked up her call, he heard a muffled cry, and then the phone went dead. He tried to call her number again but this time it was switched off.

Rahul felt a slight pain in his chest. This wasn't good. Something was definitely fishy. He tried Laya's phone again but the line said it was switched off. His every attempt to reach her only made him feel something bad has happened to her.

He shouldn't have left her alone. If he was with her, this thing wouldn't have happened.

With a big frown, he dailed Arjun's number but he didn't pick up the call. Every second felt like an eternity to him. He was getting impatient, anxious, worried, and angry.

Was his hunch becomes true?

No! Nothing should happen to her!

She is his life!

"Sir, It's time to continue the meeting," his PA informed him.

"Cancel the meeting. And also clear the schedule for today and tomorrow. I am leaving now," he said as he took hurried steps to the elevator. His PA was stumped silly at his actions. Nevertheless, he did what he was told.

Rahul went to his car and started driving towards Pasupuleti's family. On the way, he continued to dial Arjun's phone but it was not going through. With every second, he was getting frustrated. Then he dialed Abhinav's number. He didn't lift for the first time but he lifted the call the second time.

"Bava(Brother-in-law), what happened?" Abhinav asked.

"Check where is Laya," he said.

"She should be resting in her room," Abhinav said.

"She texted me she is leaving your house in a taxi all alone but when I called her her phone is saying it's switched off! Check her damned room first!" he roared.

Abhinav flinched at his voice slightly but he understood his concern for Laya.

"Right away," he said and ran to her room.

Abhinav found her room was empty. And their things were not there too. "She is not in the room," he said.

"Check the house," he said impatiently.

Abhinav did as he asked. Soon, Rahul reached the Pasupuleti's house.

"Did you find her?" Rahul Asked Abhinav.

"Nope," he said lowering his head.

"Where the hell is she?" He yelled.

"I will check again," Rahul said. He wanted to make sure she wasn't here. He hoped this to be a prank.

He ran to all rooms and checked every inch but she didn't find her anywhere.

"Where is Arjun?" he asked.

"I will call him." was all Abhinav could say.

Rama Krishna scrunched his brows at Rahul's odd behaviour.

"What happened?" he enquired.

"Laya is missing,"abhinav answered.

"What?!" he was shocked.

"SITA!!!" he yelled out loud.

Sitamma came running to him dropping whatever she was doing.

Rahul and Abhinav looked at them as if asking what he was doing.

"Where is Laya?" he asked her irritatedly.

"She left to her room to rest after breakfast," she said with a frown.

"But now she isn't there," Rama Krishna said with worry.

"When I called her it says her phone is switched off. I am not feeling good about this. Did something happened to the taxi she hired?" Rahul put his thoughts and worries out.

"Wait… did she get upset with what happened this morning?" Rama Krishna voiced out.

"Maybe," Sitamma agreed too.

"What happened in the morning? What did you guys do to her?" Rahul asked with evident anger.

"Mom, what the hell has happened actually?" Abhinav asked impatiently.

"Kamala Bua…. she again came here when she was eating. She asked her to leave this house and our lives and again shit talked saying she is a bad omen. And because of her Nandini's marriage is called off. She was sad. But your dad came in between and stood up for Laya and chased Kamala and her daughter out of the house," Sita said.

"You guys! I convinced her to come here for the sake of you and Abhinav, Attaya(mother-in-law). I didn't expect she would get trashed again," he said as he held his head feeling a headache on his way.

"First, call your home and check if she reached there or not," Sita said. Rahul nodded. He called the watchman Ramayya but he said Laya didn't come. His heart dropped into his stomach at his words.
