The Reality of Life

The two sat in silence, each in a daze. Different thoughts run through their minds. It was the beeping of Alex's watch that brought them back.

They shared a look and stood up simultaneously. If one didn't know better, they would assume that the two were a couple.

Alex stood up first and waited for Arya. They walked back together in silence. Before going through the door, Alex stopped Arya again.

"She is so beautiful. Can I see her just once? I would like to apologize to her as well. She may not understand me but it's something I need to get off my chest."

Arya looked at him and shrugged. "Maybe. Let's see how the session goes first. I will consider it." That was enough to make him beam.

"Thank you. You are an angel." She saw the excitement in his gaze. The eyes that had been dim all along lit up at the prospect of meeting her daughter. Maybe she wasn't the only victim after all.
