The shrill sound of his ringing phone was once again heard. Mark closed his eyes ignoring it. He wished he had turned it off.
Sarah had calmed down in his embrace but she had yet to speak. He was terrified of what she would say to him. Maybe he should have kept silent about things.
Perhaps he could act oblivious to her state and pretend as though he didn't know. That way, he wouldn't be feeling the way he felt now. It's quite awful.
