Darius's POV
Watching her mimic the actions of the other girl—especially toward my brother—was unbearable. I'm still haunted by the decision to send her to Gerald, and I haven't stopped blaming myself since I gave Thessa the order.
Now, I'm at the center, witnessing Allison tear up from 0010's slap. Maybe she should have held her tongue, maybe she deserved it, but all I can think about is how 0010 disobeyed me. I explicitly ordered that no one was to harm Allison.
I grind my teeth, trying to maintain my composure, but seeing her cry ignites something inside me. I hate it so much that I almost want to lash out at the other girl, but I know better. Striking her would cost me respect among the girls, and once that happens, my authority will be up for grabs when I'm not around.
"You respect him! He's a freaking god among us!" 0010 shouts at Allison, forcing her to collapse to the floor, hands clutching her head as she sobs in fear.
