Hellish Oblivion

Carl woke up in hell. What make it worse is that he forgot to turn off the stove when at home before he died. The rest are consequences of his actions. (This is my first novel or short story. Chapter 3

Carl had been walking very far from the spot he woke up. Based on the footprints he counted on his way from the start, he knew that he had been walking for over an hour. He was thirsting to death but didn't callapse. He was gritting his teeth tight enough to grind a diamond. No matter what come before him, he would not stop.

Stormy winds hit him with forces strong enough to send houses flying. He kept walking. Sometimes, particles of sands hit his skin like bullets. He kept walking. Giant vultures size of airplanes flew over him from hundred of miles above waiting for his demise. He kept walking. He had only one thing in mind, the ticking time bomb of a shining aluminium cooking pot. That was where he died. And he will come back from his unceremonius death. He will...

"BAM!"

Something hits his head and body. He had been blinded by his goal for destination that he didn't see the massive towering figure which something that would be seen by anybody from miles away. It's a wall. It has texture of black surface with red irregular polygonal outlines which seem to be cracks. Those red outlines are glowing with radiances inside.

"A wall?", Carl muttered.

He then looks up at the top of the wall to see how high it was. He couldn't see the top at all. The peak of the wall disappeared into fogs above which the wall could have been seemed to be bigger. Carl sits for a while to rethink if this has been all over. Could this be the end of his journey? An unexpected thought comes into his mind.

"This wall could be the end of my journey... if I were to keep walking in straight line of course. But what if, this wasn't the final barrier to hell but instead there could be a gate attached to this wall, I could get out of here from there."

He stands up once again motivated and starts to walk along the walls.
