To Cheat or Not To Cheat

I am now sitting at a table in the familia's living room across from both Lord Miach and Naaza. Lord Miach has just finished explaining the situation to Naaza who is still a little frazzled from Lord Miach's outburst earlier.

"Wow" "So you've got a demon sitting in that tattoo on your chest huh. Makes me wonder how the heck you ended up nearly dead in a back alley. Though if you died or something would that release it or something." Naaza has a rather impressed look on her face as she learns about my situation which quickly turns to worry as she realizes the problem

"No, judging by what happened to Jack earlier, the demon would lose all his energy as Jack unconsciously drains its energy before dying leading to it to die as well."

"Well that's a load off my shoulders. We'd probably have to lock him up somewhere if killing him would release it."

I hadn't thought of that, but I guess I'm lucky that my situation isn't worse. But this situation is reminding me of something. Right! Naruto! Jinchuriki! I am effectively a jinchuriki for Shendu. Oh boy, if that's true this might be more trouble than I thought. Lord Miach's voice shakes me out of my thoughts.

"Well now that you know the situation Jack is going to try to convince us to let him eat magic crystals. He gave some arguments that had merit so I wanted your advice as a retired adventurer and captain of this familia."

"Oh it must have been pretty good argument to let him potentially release a demon. So lets hear it and it better be good. I don't want my first decision as captain to get my little kohai killed."

I take a deep breath. I've got one shot at this but I'm pretty confident in my argument.

"You see each of the twelve talismans has a different power associated with it. The ox gives strength and the rabbit speed which I could obtain from my status but its some of the others that I am mainly interested in. Primarily the horse and dog talismans. These talismans give healing and immortality respectively." Here Lord Miach interrupts.

"IMMORTALITY! THAT SHOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE!" I wince at his voice and try to calm him down.

"Okay well maybe not real immortality. From the stories I've heard it should return the youth of the user in some form of regeneration. So I guess it's closer to eternal youth than immortality."

"Still that is something people would drive the gods into a frenzy. Naaza, Jack, make sure no one ever learns of this!"

""Yes, Sir!"" Both of us answer affirmatively knowing just how much trouble this could bring us.

"Also, Jack, didn't you say you might be able to let others use these talismans."

"WHAT!" Both I and Lord Miach wince as Naaza's voice hits a level I didn't think possible

"YOU'RE TELLING ME I CAN GET ETERNAL BEAUTY!"

"Calm down Naaza. Even if its true it will be far in the future when Jack is much stronger. Besides you will always be beautiful to me." Wait did Lord Miach and Naaza have that kind of relationship?

"Oh, oh," Naaza turns beet red and tries to hide her face, but her tail is wagging a bit too much to hide her feelings.

"Well anyway. Jack, you said those were the powers you particularly wanted is there any reason for that." Lord Miach tries to turn our attention back to the matter at hand as it looks like Naaza might be out for the count.

*cough* "Well yes, you see the other powers include levitation, invisibility, astral projection, animation, shape shifting, heat vision, fire magic, and balance. Those are all very good, but I could always do without them or get a magic device to do it for me. Healing on the other hand is something that could save my life when the worst happens so is most important to me personally."

*cough, cough* "Some of these powers I think I understand but go ahead and explain them to me primarily the animation, astral projection, and balance." Naaza seems to get herself together while I'm listing the talismans.

"Well most of them are pretty straight forward and do exactly what it sounds like, though the heat vision thing lets you shoot beams from your eyes instead of see things like a snake so there's that. The animation lets me bring things to temporary life, so if you had a puppet or a statue of someone or something I could make it move like it was alive. It wouldn't have much intelligence though. The astral projection lets me control and get into people's dreams; while the balance is kinda weird as it lets me split into perfectly evil and good copies of myself. I think that it lets me use multiple talismans at once. Letting me shapeshift rock into a monster and then animate it." Naaza takes a moment to contemplate.

"So if you animate something does it follow orders or do its own thing."

"I'm not really sure. It could depend on the strength of the talisman, what I bring to life, or something else. Some experimenting would be required to figure it out."

Naaza starts thinking and muttering under her breath, while Lord Miach sits there with a pensive look on his face. It takes some time which lets me grow more and more nervous as they think till finally Naaza looks up at Lord Miach.
