Resort Owner's Room

Now he had confirmed who the mother was. Now he just needed evidence on the father's part. Jay Kaiya decided that he will need to break into his room tonight, even when the girl had given him info about the resort owner.

The information she gave out was not enough to convict the man. After all, he only knew for sure that the man did those deeds because of the black phone, but for now, all he can prove in real life was who the girl's mother was.

He needed to find more evidence, more proof, or tonight's mission will be a failure, resulting in the death of everyone in this resort. The mission was a one star scenario, twice as dangerous as his Granny's house. However, his Granny's house can technically not even be considered a mission. The black phone's wraith had helped him, and the majority of the ghosts inside that house were harmless. Albeit creepy, like the smiling Buddha, they were not evil.

This on the other hand was double the difficulty, double the toughness, plus he did not have a handicap this time around, and was even rushed in with no preparation. If he guessed, Katashi Koi's ghost will very likely appear this night, or how else can everyone die inside the resort? Her ghost will be the reaper of everyone's soul in the morning. He yet again registered that he was pressed for time.

He decided not to wait till the night, but go break into the room now. In fact, if he broke in during the night, it would almost be guaranteed that the man will be inside sleeping or resting. If he went now, he had a chance that he was still doing business somewhere else in the hotel, leaving the room empty.

So he left the room now in order to not waste time, heading towards the king suites. There were three king suites in this resort, and only one of them was available for booking. This mean the that one of the two reserved rooms was the owner's. He only had to find a way to figure out which was his, or guess and choose.

Arriving at the suites lobby, it was quiet and empty. No one went towards this side of the hotel. The three rooms were set up on the end of the resort, one facing each side of the hallway. As this was a resort, he can infer that the one to the left was not the owner's. The door to the left faced the scenic spot, it was very unlikely for a customer's room not to face the scenic view, especially when it is a king suite.

As it was a 50-50 shot for what was correct, he decided to go with the right door, as that was his gut feeling. The door to the right faced the parking lot and park, making it not the ideal spot for a luxurious sweet. To make the most money, the resort owner would probably not make his room be better than the King Suite available for order.

The third room was likely set to be empty in case a special person comes to visit like a celebrity or political leader. It was common for hotels to do this practice, so its likely they are also doing it here.

Making sure to scan the corner of this hall for cameras to not be caught red handed, he gave a sigh of relief. The place did not seem to have surveillance, likely to preserve the privacy of the king suite's residents.

Walking towards the door, he knocked on it lightly.

Don- Don- Don-

He didn't make it loud as he was afraid of the other two rooms noticing if there were people inside eavesdropping. After knocking for a straight minute to make sure no one was inside, he peeked towards the open empty hall, double checking to make sure no one came near during the time he spent on knocking.

As the coast was all clear, he prepared to break in. Looking at the door knob, it used both a key lock and a card lock. However, for the convenience sake of the customer, only one was needed, making it a preference choice. This saved Jay the hassle as he had no idea how to get passed an electric lock.

Luckily the university he went to taught him properlly how to break locks like these. All you needed was a hammer... and he had just the thing.

Bang!-

It was louder than he wished, but it wasn't loud enough for it to go through the walls on the sides of him. As there was no one nearby, no one will notice until someone closely checks onto the door knob itself, as he was able to put the knob back into the door, making it near unnoticiable.

Throwing the black phone up a little to catch, he truly felt this thing was too super naturally unlogical. The phone didn't even feel that hard or heavy, but it was perfectly good enough to smash like a hammer. It didn't even suffer the slightest dent or scratch. This thing itself was worse than the well reknowned Nokia phone.

Putting the brick back in his pocket, he closed the door from the inside. Taking careful but hurried steps, he looked for the work room. The king suite was big enough that it even contained a small library with a desk and a computer. If there was any evidence that the guy had left here, it will only be found at his mini office.

The chances were slim for him to find the proof he needed, but with his experience from the last three missions he did, everything the black phone gave him so far was all possible to complete. The only reason why he almost died the first time was because he was careless, ignoring every single hint that was given to him, brushing it to the side.

Although he could explain it as him not knowing anything about this supernatural world yet, because of his ignorance he had almost died. He won't butter up his own god idiotic mistakes. If one felt like they were being followed in a dark alley in the hood, and ignored it only to be mugged later on, isn't that an idiotic mistake? And, that was the same thing he had done.

He finally found the room. The small library was accross the big fancy living room, on the oppisate side. Entering the man's pressumed workspace, Jay Kaiya began to search through everything. He didn't bother to use tissues or anything to block his finger prints, as if he proves the evidence, the cops won't care how he got it for how horrible the man was, while if he failed, than the owner won't even live till tomorrow.

First searching through the books, he flipped through every single one. Throwing them in messy stacks each time he was done. After searching all the books, nothing was found. Next he moved towards the paintings, seperating the frames and the pics. There was still nothing after he released each one.

Next he went towards his desk, scavenging every drawer for a clue, a lead, or anything at all useful. Yet, there was still nothing. Now minutes passed by, and the owner will notice that someone broke in his room once he got back, ticking him off of the investigation. As it was only the office that was thrown in a mess, anyone can think that the intruder was looking for info. If they were a thief, the person would steal the valuables such as the paintings.

'Perhaps this is the wrong room?'

There was no evidence, and not even a laptop or writing, signs of the owner using this room. Although the computer was here, when he checked, there was nothing on it. Everything was clean. If this is the owner's computer, than its awfully empty for a business tycoon.

Should he break into the other room and try his luck? This place provided him with nothing, and it the time outside was already turning into the night, with the last rays of light escaping from beyond the horizon.

Right at the moment Jay left the room, a soft tapping registered inside his ears, faintly sounding from the room he had left.

Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu-

Tapping? There was nothing there that could give noise like that in the room he had just checked.

Going back inside the small spacious room, he was not hearing things, as the noise tapped slightly again.

Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu-

Locating the source of the sound, it came from the bookshelf which was now empty, or more accurately from behind it.

'Is there perhaps a hidden room behind the bookshelf?'

Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu-

Nothing answered back other than the repetitive small taps, pecking in the emptiness.

Like Eastern Fantasy? I started the new novel mentioned from the earlier A/N post. It is called:

'Soul Cultivation: Heaven's Drug Dealer'

Hope you check it out! Also at least in my opinion it has a cool book cover, at least better than this novel as this one is temporary.
