Ray of sunshine

Noah Thor watched how lily majestically walked in and sat besides her husband. Nix walked in seconds after she had arrived,

"I guess there's nothing more to discuss about?" Noah Thor asked Lily who nodded in reply.

"So meeting over.....whose hungry?" Noah Thor asked, elevating the atmosphere.

"I get the dishes served" Mrs Noah Thor replied

"I'll help..." Lily offered.

"No no my dear...you stay with your husband" she said with a wink

Lily sat down, her face flushed red.

Her mom, Karin's wife and Nix's mom escorted Mrs Thor to get the dinner ready.

Lily noticed that Nix's father had been silent all the while. She rarely saw him back then while they were in school, on few occasions Nix had always been with his mother.

Their eyes fell on each other, he instantly withdrew his gaze as if he was avoiding something.

"Lily...i do love your courage you know?"

"Courage?"

"Yes i mean if it was any other woman out there she might just get sulky and cling to her husband....or seek for protection from her security guards but you stood up for your self"

"I'm meant to stand up for myself....its what makes me a woman"

"I'm sure they all have learnt something from you.....and your husband too"

She nodded.

"But i have to ask why you didn't react when that lady had the audacity to hold you back" karin implored.

Dilan glanced at Him and to his wife

"I wanted to know her reaction" he said not breaking his gaze from lily

"You think....i was jealous?" she asked

"No" he added

"I know you were jealous" he said with a smile.

Lily fumbled, she tried to refute him but her lips hanged open when Noah Thor reacted.

"Its normal for her to be jealous of you son....but you should make sure to make her your queen above all"

Dilan watched lily whose mouth was still open, speechless of what to say

"If you don't close it....i might help" lily shut her mouth, on hearing Dilan's words in her ear.

Their were echo's of laughter

"Lets eat" Mrs Thor smiled at the couple.

The dining setting was large enough for all of then, Noah Thor and his wife sat besides each other with Dilan and his wife by his right and Karin and his wife at the left. Mr Wen sat next to his beloved wife and so did Nix's parents, the only distorted couple being Nix and Sasha whom in between was no other than Sajan. They sat opposite Noah Thor and his wife, nix noticed the sharp gazes Sasha threw at Lily.

"Does she think she can do anything to her?" nix thought inwardly

Apart from lily being able to protect herself, she was now a married woman, married into the home of the great Thor's. Even though Sasha is connected to nix with his son, Noah Thor would accept no apologies if anything would happen to his daughter in law- Dilan's wife lily. Nix knew how much he adored her earning her the respect she got all around.

Nix looked at the couple who were silently eating while listening to Noah Thor, his gaze fell on Karin and his wife. His thoughts ran back to Betty and his face turned sullen, Karin who seemed to had glanced at Nix frowned. Nix swiftly diverted his attention from him, pretending to listen to Noah Thor.

"Why don't we celebrate the newest couples in town? Cheers" Noah Thor said with a wide smile. With their glasses filled with wine, they all stood up.

Noah Thor cleared his throat while he intertwined his arm with his wife.

"To the latest, loveliest couple in the world.....and to my beautiful daughter in law Lily Thor who ever since had joined us had been a ray of sunshine"

"Cheers" they all chorused

Lily's eyes were filled with tears, her mom hugged her tightly

"Keep blossoming.....lily"

They were several congratulations coming from all

"Congrats" Sasha said with a sly smile on her face when she approached lily.

"Thanks" lily replied dryly.

"Looks like your phlegmatic huh? I don't know how....."

"He's my husband any problem with that?" lily added in a calm voice cutting Sasha off

"Not really dear...but enjoy it while you have, it" she said in a threatening tone.

"Run while you still can" lily replied with a deep smile revealing her dimples.

"That smile huh?" Dilan chipped in

"You like it?"

"No" he replied with a stern face

"....."

"It's not for me so why would I like it?" he answered plainly

Sasha fell speechless

"Wasn't this the son of Noah Thor rumored to be cold...Did he just say that?"

Nix who had overheard their conversation laughed inwardly. He texted Doctor Darrel informing him of the necessary information he requested

"....time"

"How long...isn't he getting better?"

"I don't think so" Doctor Darrel replied.

Nix rolled his eyes, he didn't understand what Doctor Darrel meant.

"I think you should see it for yourself Darrel" nix texted back

"Did they have intercourse during their honeymoon?" Darrel texted

Nix's expression changed

"She said they didn't"

"Just a little time...if not you know what to, do,,", Darrel said ending the conversation.

The words Noah Thor had expressed previously began to ring in his head

"Ray of sunshine... a ray of sunshine.....ray of sunshine"

He turned towards Dilan who was staring blankly at lily

"You came late"
