--September 1st 1991--
"Do the both of you have everything you need?" Theodoric asked his two grandchildren who were about to leave for King's Cross Station for the beginning of the term at Hogwarts
"Yes, grandfather we have everything." Alaric and Sofia both responded simultaneously
"Good, not that you're both ready let's take the Floo network." With that being said, the
Reinhardt trio accompanied by Daniel stepped into the fireplace and dropped the floo powder. "King's Cross Station," Daniel said
Before they had left, Alaric had thought back to everything that had transpired after they left the Delacour manor.
--July 31st 1991, Reinhardt Estate--
It had been a few weeks since they had returned from their visit to France, Alaric was currently in his suitcase just relaxing with the magic wolf pup who he named Sigurd, after the Germanic hero who killed a dragon.
Alaric and Sigurd were currently relaxing in a field alongside the Hippogriffs. Alaric's whole plan for the day was to just sleep and relax alongside his creatures, but before he could fully fall into the embrace of sleep, he heard Daniel call for him from outside of the suitcase.
"Young Alaric, your grandfather called for you, make sure to dress appropriately, you will be visiting diagon alley to collect your items for school.
Alaric let out a sigh as he stood up and walked toward the study so he could ascend the ladder back into the mansion and out of the suitcase.
As he was climbing, Alaric could only chuckle as he recalled the events that played out when he had been given his acceptance letter by none other than Dumbledore himself.
--Flashback--
It was a nice sunny day and Alaric was currently out on the front lawn practicing with his wind magic, he was currently trying to make himself fly and keep a steady enough control on his magic output so as to not totally exhaust it.
The reason why he had to train something like this, was due to the immense amount of magic that went into flying with wind magic, there's a reason not even Dumbledore himself could fly without a broom, he didn't have enough control over his magic to accurately use just the right amount to sustain himself in the air for an extended amount of time.
As Alaric was a few feet in the air, he felt his magic depletion slowly stabilizing to the point he was only utilizing a quarter of his reserves.
He was able to stay in the air for a good half hour before he had used up the quarter of his magic power he had allocated for the wind magic.
A tired Alaric was sitting on the lawn and drinking some water while taking a break, when suddenly a shadow enveloped him, signifying someone was behind him, at first he thought it was his grandfather, but he quickly knew it wasn't due to the ancient magic the man had emanating off of his person.
Alaric quickly used a movement spell that was his own creation called [Magic Dash] to make some space between himself and the unknown wizard.
(think of the swift dash from Hogwarts legacy.)
"Hoho, quite the impressive reflexes you have, my boy, and that magic, I don't think I've ever seen anything like it, care to tell this old man what it is?" asked the unknown wizard
"Ah! Where are my manners, allow me to introduce myself, I am the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, at your service." Dumbledore said with a slight bow
Hearing the man identify himself, Alaric noticeably relaxed a slight bit, however, he was still on guard, call it paranoia but he had no idea if this Dumbledore was a good grandfatherly old man or the closet dark lord fanfic authors liked to make him into.
'Well, I guess it doesn't matter, even if he tried to use legilimency against me he wouldn't be able to crack my defenses, however, a physical clash I'm not too sure about, while I have gotten more powerful, I'm a far cry from what I used to be. As it stands I don't believe he would even be able to stop me from escaping, but better to be careful rather than sorry.
With a slight bow out of respect, Alaric also introduced himself. "a pleasure sir, my name is Alaric Siegfried Reinhardt, heir to the proud and ancient House of Reinhardt, although, I'm sure you already knew that."
"Haha, yes, I know exactly who you are my boy, your magic ability is utterly remarkable for someone your age," Dumbledore said with a genuinely kind and interested smile on his face
As the two finished greetings, a quick crack could be heard signaling the arrival of the lord of the estate, Theodoric, accompanied by Daniel.
"Albus, I see you have already met my grandson."
"Ah Theodoric, it has been quite some time has it not?" Dumbledore said with a smile
"Yes, yes it has," Theodoric said with a sigh at how Dumbledore came straight to Alaric on arrival and not him
Once the two old men started talking, Alaric was immersed in thought.
'I have never thought about it before, but now that I know the old goat is also an ancient magic wielder, I'm starting to think he might be a descendant of Rackham, after all, he does have Percival in his far too long name.'
'Well, it would seem I have something to ask the headmaster at a later date, for now, let's see if all he is here to do is relay my acceptance or if he has other motives.
Coming out of his train of thought, Alaric had caught an interesting piece of the conversation toward the end of the two men's chat.
"So, Albus, are you here to try and convince me to join your "order" and come back to the light faction for the millionth time, or are you here for other business?" Theodoric asked with an accusatory glare
"Oh, nothing like that, you have made it abundantly clear that the House of Reinhardt has officially stepped away from the political game of magical Britain, no, I am actually here to deliver young Alaric here his acceptance letter," Dumbledore said responding to Theodoric's question and pulling out a white envelope from his sleeve.
Alaric took the envelope from Dumbledore and opened it to read it.

After he read the letter and Dumbledore and Theodoric talked for a few more moments, Dumbledore left to go back to Hogwarts to get everything ready, he obviously didn't need to come with or send anyone to take Alaric to Diagon Alley due to their pureblood status.
--Back to July 31st, 1991, London--
Alaric, Sofia, and Theodoric were all currently at the Leaky Cauldron where the entrance to Diagon Alley is.
"You're going to love it!" Sofia said animately to Alaric as she was explaining what Diagon Alley was and all that it had
"Alaric, do try not to electrocute anyone while we are here, it can get a tad hectic with students shopping for their school items," Theodoric said to Alaric as he tapped his wand on the brick wall and it opened up revealing a bustling street of weirdly clothed wizards walking all over a winding street with different shops in odd-shaped buildings.
"Whatever you say, grandfather," Alaric responded with an eye roll, not willing to promise something he knew would most likely happen either way.
As the group walked around the Alley, Alaric was taking in all of the sites, although they were objectively cool, he still couldn't help but be disappointed, compared to other countries' magical areas, Diagon Alley was a tad underwhelming.
"So, where to first?" Alaric asked
"We will make a quick visit to Gringotts to collect some money from your trust vault and then we will get you robes, books, any other items you need, and then your wand," Theodoric said
"Huh, why in the bloody hell would I need a wand?" Alaric asked genuinely confused
"At first I wasn't going to force you to get one, but then I changed my mind after seeing your duel with Apollines daughter."
"Alaric, I know you are quite honestly, very powerful compared to anyone close to your age, however, you also are a remarkable wand duelist, I could tell just from that one duel and the handful of times I've seen you wield one just to experiment," Theodoric said with a hint of pride, however, after a brief moment his face turned serious. "Although I've never told you this, I feel it is time, Alaric, I'm sure you have wondered just how the death eater had invaded so far into our home and killed so many of us, I'm also talking about the branch families that were eradicated."
Hearing what he just said, Alaric couldn't lie, he was intrigued, it confused him immensely when he read the sheer amount of Reinhardt casualties during the past few wars that have happened.
"You see, us Reinhardts have gotten quite... prideful over the centuries after the ring magic foci were first perfected by Alaric III," Theodoric said with a sour look. "We stopped caring about wands completely, and that cost us, our enemies quickly found ways to counteract our foci, all it took was a disruption ward being set up that was aimed at our rings, to this day I have no idea how such a thing came into being."
"Hence why so many of us had died at the hands of Voldemort and his followers, That is why I want you to also always carry a wand with you at all times, just in case, do you understand me?" Theodoric asked a shook Alaric who only slowly nodded in response
Alaric couldn't help but pale at what he heard, the truth was, he had been using a magic ring focus since before his life as Alaric I, he just never shared that with any of his family until his past life.
The reason why this matters is that other than him, only one person has been able to successfully negate his ring, and that vile, inhuman man was none other than... Herpo the Foul.
During one of his past lives before Alaric I, he had met Herpo during his travels to ancient Greece, at the time he met him, Herpo was a young man who loved magic and loved to research it, Alaric under his then name, Nikias, a name he assumed when he came to Greece to blend in.
Under the guise of Nikias an elderly wizard, Alaric had taught Herpo about different types of magic and how spells were created, he even taught Herpo a few forms of magic that would be considered dark now but back then were perfectly normal, the most prominent of those spells was a set of rituals to enhance the body.
As Nikias, who was nearing the age of 150 felt that he was growing too weak, he decided to live out his last few years back in Germania, his home, when he left Herpo was around the age of 40, at the time he didn't show many evil signs, but boy was Alaric in for a surprise when in his next life a century later he met Herpo again.
During that life which was his third to last before Alaric I, he met Herpo again, this time however it was as enemies, Alaric had heard of some of the vile things Herpo had done in between his lives and he felt a sense of responsibility for playing a major part in that monsters ascent to power.
Although he failed to slay Herpo the first time, he came back again in another century and managed to fell Herpo, however, instead of killing him outright by destroying his Horcruxes, he condemned the man to wander the earth as a tortured spirit for all of eternity.
Herpo was the only man who ever was able to create a spell to negate his magic ring foci, that was how he killed him the first time.
Alaric wasn't shaken up by this due to being scared, no, it was more so he was worried for his family than himself, however, now knowing that they use wands in tandem with their rings, he calmed down slightly.
However, Alaric was still slightly bewildered about how Voldemort and his followers had gained knowledge on how to do what only Herpo could do.
'Shit, there's no way that snake bastard could've revived Herpo, right?' Alaric thought alarmed at the possible revival of Herpo
'No, it can't be, I'm sure he must've just chanced upon one of Herpo's old journals, I hope.'
