Chapter 7: A Short Grind
Alan sat blankly at a bench after paying for his wand and leaving Ollivander's.
He was still processing the system's words.
[ First Main Quest: Kill Voldemort
You're journey as the savior has begun, and just as your journey begins, 'it's' journey continues.
As you change, the world changes with you.
'Someone' who wasn't supposed to be in the right state of mind is slowly gaining clarity.
You know what to do.
1. Destroy Voldemort's Horcruxes(0/?)
2. Defeat Voldemort and deliver the killing blow.
3. Abolish, Kill, or Arrest Death eaters(0/?)
4.(Optional) Prevent the death of those who were originally destined to die(0/?)
Completion rate: 0.00% ]
Alan was still contemplating the words of 'clarity'.
From what he knows.
Voldemort probably got more retarded the more Horcruxes he made, since the act of splitting someone's soul is splitting a part of themselves.
While the Voldemort in the original work was a heavily armed moron, the past Voldemort, an example would be Tom Riddle's Diary. Was, intelligent, charismatic, and cunning. Unlike his future self who was more arrogant than cunning.
So if Voldemort gained clarity…
Did it make him return to his previous state of mind..?
'Shit.'
If that was the case he needed to gain strength much much faster than what he was going to do.
His plan was originally just growing at a steady pace while trying his best to stick to the plot, usually, this wouldn't work but it would at least go towards the same trajectory.
Now, however. He needed to gain power. He needed to work harder than what he was already doing. Much, much harder.
Honestly, who knows what Quirrell will do when he is at the castle, poison him?
'I'll probably turn into Moody at this rate'
Alan sighed tiredly.
After some time Hagrid arrived with his supplies and an owl he called 'Hedwig' to honor the og. And then they went to eat at the leaky cauldron, after which, Alan convinced Hagrid to let him stay in the leaky cauldron for th rest of the time. Which he reluctantly agreed to.
And eventually, time passed by in a blink of an eye.
Diagon Alley, Leaky Cauldron.
Waving his arm at the several plates and glassware, which floated towards the counter, Alan exhaled in exhaustion.
"I'll probably never get used to seeing someone as young as you use wandless magic like that Alan." The barkeep, Tom said in awe.
Alan cracked a grin.
"What can I say i'm Alan Potter."
They both laughed at that.
During his stay at the leaky cauldron. He and Tom have gotten along very well, at least Tom understood that 'Alan Potter' was just like any other eleven-year-old but a bit more eccentric.
During these few days, he's been learning spells at a steady pace while at the same time. Focused on gathering a lot of SP, by helping a ton of different people, from menial tasks to pretty big ones such as helping with the cleaning at the leaky cauldron, to helping sort books at Flourish and Blotts.
He's gathered more Savior Points than he could at Privet Drive, a bonus would be that he also gained quite a good reputation among the shop owners, as 'a polite and helpful child.'
Alan plopped down in the bed of room number 12, where he had been sleeping for these past few days, and stared blankly at the ceiling.
"System panel." He said quietly.

[Ding, congratulations for obtaining Accio (Level 1)]
[Ding, congratulations for obtaining Chocolate Frog Card(Rare)]
...
[Ding, congratulations for obtaining a Talent(Extraordinary): Eye of Insight.]
Alan smiled at the gains he got and hurriedly summoned the talent description.
[ Name: Eye of Insight
Grade: Extraordinary
Description: Grants the ability to view other people's talents and abilities to formulate an insightful evaluation of their strengths and weaknesses. ]
Alan looked at this talent in complete shock.
Isn't this talent perfect for him?
Although this talent didn't have anything useful in terms of making him powerful.
But it would literally allow him to make others stronger, not through the system itself, but by using the information provided by it to nurture their talents and abilities in the right direction.
An example of what this ability might entail; would be someone with low talent in charms but a prodigy in the dark arts.
From his early years, he thought his talent bars were fixed, which correlated to his future achievements in said subject.
He was wrong.
Everyone had talents designated to them from birth.
But these talents weren't set in stone as he thought when one day he managed to increase his [Charms: 3] into [Charms: 4] through pure relentless hard work to get a levitation charm to work wandlessly.
And that was without him cheating.
So if he could do it then couldn't everyone else?
Having decided what he should do
Alan got up from the bed and packed everything into his trunk.
If he wanted to test the limits of this ability what better way than The Hogwarts Express which was filled to the brim with children of different talents and backgrounds?
Chapter end.
