Chapter -43 Ludo Bagman

Chapter -43.

The prisoners wasted no time in taking advantage of the chaos, gathering excitedly behind Lester as they eagerly eyed the elevator ahead. They had already amassed a considerable amount of Galleons by robbing just a handful of people; just imagine how wealthy they could become if they looted the entire Ministry of Magic!

Seeing the prisoners' enthusiasm, Lester felt encouraged. He raised his wand high, pointed it towards the Ministry of Magic's security passage, and boldly called out, "Charge in and take out those purebloods!"

Having witnessed violence already, the prisoners were easily stirred. The moment Lester's words left his lips, they brandished their wands and charged forward with wild abandon.

As the sole governing body of the magical world, the Ministry of Magic relied on more than just a handful of magical elevators for transportation. There were also numerous security passages flanking the elevators, leading to various underground departments.

Using Apparition would create magical disturbances that could attract the Ministry officials' attention. They could easily find themselves under attack by disarming spells the moment they arrived.

So, this band of prisoners opted for the most straightforward approach: they decided to storm the Ministry on foot!

In no time, they reached the second underground level of the Ministry of Magic, which housed the Department of Magical Sports.

At the far end of the security passage was a sturdy iron door secured by a magical chain lock, hinting that a password was needed to pass through.

Looking at this seemingly impenetrable barrier, the prisoners didn't feel despair; instead, they exchanged confident smirks.

A few Azkaban inmates in the front pointed their wands at the iron door and unleashed a series of powerful blasting spells.

"Confringo!"

With their incantations echoed in the air, fiery orange fireballs shot from their wands, racing toward the iron door.

Boom!

With a tremendous explosion, the heavy iron door was blown away, leaving nothing but a wreck in its wake.

Inside the Department of Magical Sports, the pureblood officials were casually chatting about mundane matters, enjoying their leisurely lives, when suddenly, the massive door came crashing toward them.

The door struck two Ministry officials, sending them sprawling against the wall with a thud, instantly knocking them unconscious.

The remaining pureblood officials could only stare in shock at the unfolding chaos, some bewildered by the sudden turn of events.

Typically, their day-to-day tasks involved sipping tea and perusing newspapers, as the Department of Magical Sports was primarily an administrative office with little to do except during significant events.

Now, faced with the aggressively advancing prisoners outside, they hesitated, unsure of how to defend themselves.

While they floundered, however, the prisoners were fully prepared.

"Avada Kedavra!"

As soon as the iron door fell, the prisoners rushed in, raising their wands and casting killing curses without a second thought toward the terrified officials inside.

Those who lagged behind wasted no time in following suit, each one imitating their comrades by unleashing killing curses without discerning targets.

In an instant, the Department of Magical Sports filled with cries and chaos, as many unfortunate pureblood officials fell victim to the onslaught of spells.

Some of the missed curses blasted into the office furniture, overturning benches and sending papers flying everywhere.

"Avada Kedavra!!!"

A few of the prisoners, now frenzied, continued to hurl curses into the air recklessly, regardless of whether anyone was in sight.

Before long, the entire Department of Magical Sports resembled a war zone, with a colorful array of spells flying through the air, especially the ominous green killing curses that painted the space in chaos.

Meanwhile, Lester had entered a state of invisibility, standing quietly behind the prisoners, taking in the scene before him.

Where there is oppression, there is always resistance.

The purebloods had held power over the Muggle-borns for years, abusing their authority, ultimately sowing the seeds of their own downfall.

Now, after all those years, the pressure had built up and was finally erupting under Lester's guidance.

He felt no pity for the pureblood wizards now caught in the prisoners' rampage; they had brought this upon themselves!

"I'm so close to reaching 1 million fear points," Lester thought, tuning in to the continuous screams and pleas around him, considering the valuable items he might be able to acquire with such a reward.

Just as he pondered, he noticed a plump figure desperately attempting to squeeze himself under a small table, clearly hoping to escape the carnage.

Ludo Bagman, in his efforts, finally managed to wedge his ample form into the narrow space beneath the table. Trembling, he wiped sweat from his brow, trembling at the chaos unfolding nearby.

As the head of the Department of Magical Sports, Ludo should have rallied his team for resistance, but as he observed the relentless streaks of green light from the killing curses, he felt a deep-seated cowardice.

"I'm the head of the Department of Magical Sports. It's not that I'm afraid to die; it's just that I want to ensure my survival to report on this once the dust settles."

With that thought, Ludo's spirits lifted a bit; he was not a coward, but keeping himself alive was a necessity for future reporting to the Ministry of Magic.

Suddenly, just as Ludo was building himself up, his eyes widened. He noticed a prisoner dressed in grey prison attire collapse right in front of him.

It seemed that, despite the absence of Ludo's leadership, not all officials from the Ministry were helpless.

With their pureblood lineage, many officials possessed significant battle abilities. After initially being caught off guard, the surviving purebloods quickly regrouped and began fighting back, utilizing their ancestral magic against the prisoners.

Several hapless prisoners found themselves losing their lives to these ancestral spells.

Seeing the tide turning, Lester, who had been lingering behind the prisoners, decided it was time to intervene.

In the office, the prisoners stood arrogantly, casting spells freely at the Ministry officials across the room, with green killing curses flying from their wands like confetti.

Meanwhile, a few organized officials huddled behind sturdy shields, taking turns emerging to unleash their terrifying ancestral dark magic against the prisoners.

Even though there were a lot of prisoners, they struggled to withstand the unexpectedly fierce counterattack from the purebloods.

For a moment, both sides seemed locked in a standstill in the office.

"One day, I'll create my own army," Lester mused, observing how the prisoners stood with their wands raised, neglecting to find cover. His frustration mounted.

Did they think they were invincible? Standing still and expecting to win against an opponent that could think and shoot back was foolish!

Reluctantly, Lester made his move.

"Protego diabolica!" He fixed his gaze on the group of pureblood officials cowering behind their cover, who were still throwing their powerful spells. Slowly, he raised his hand and then slapped it downward.

In an instant, Lester's level 2 spell activated, conjuring immense blue flames that materialized above the pureblood officials, crashing down with incredible force.
