Time passed and the predestined moment had arrived, it was during the twelfth day of the month of August when the dueling club had all the preparations ready for the expedition.
"Nahuen approached Ananá near one of the hidden exits of the Castelobruxo's space.
"Perfect" Ananá stood up from his seat to look at the members selected for this expedition, thirteen members among them William, Nahuen and Ananá himself.
"The moment we set foot in this passageway there will be no turning back, the moment we return to the classroom we have to do so with treasures that no one, not even the goblins of Gringotts would have seen before in their wrinkled lives.
In Castelobruxo there were several statues scattered everywhere that told the history of the school, but there was one in specific that was different from all the others, in that statue there was a warrior with a shield, when you touched a small plate on the bottom of the shield you could activate a secret mechanism that opened a secret exit to the jungle.
"All of you carry the bags given by Nahuen, inside you will find everything you need to return alive. If there are no objections to this trip then... follow me" Anana turned around and started to descend the stairs to the secret exit.
William followed closely behind Anana, in truth he had wanted to invite Manuela to the expedition but if she found out then it would likely be cancelled by the director herself, besides it would be impossible to tell her, after all William hadn't seen her for a few days.
"You don't need to worry about her William, since I first met her I knew she was quite strange" pointed out Anana calmly "I suggest you commit your full attention to our expedition, the Amazon jungle is much more dangerous than you might think, there are many strange beasts within it."
"Do you have a map?" asked William
"Of course I have a map, besides we have a native of the jungle who will support us in our crusade, he knows the shortest way to get to the destination."
The dueling club walked in the dark, William for his part used the spell cat's eyes to be able to see in the dark, among the members of the dueling club there were those who specialized in sensory type magic to search for beasts in the surroundings, these specific mages could not follow the march of the group and were simply carried by the other members.
"I doubt this expedition will last one night. How can they possibly not find us?" William asked
Anana just pointed at Nahuen "We already have everything planned, Nahuen's older brother and his friends will be in charge of covering our tracks, illusory magic remember?"
William nodded, everything was planned, every possible detail, it was impossible not to admire this student who did not belong to the canon of history. From what William had studied about the culture of the island of Rapa Nui, Anana's father, the ariki of the island is a high level wizard with powers capable of taking Dumbledore himself back to his golden age, but like any great power it has great limitations. The ariki was not allowed to leave the island and this was not a verbal rule but a curse. Anana had pointed out earlier that in the future he would be the ariki of the island and so he seeks to explore and enjoy his school life as much as he can.
"Well, I think we are far enough away to be discovered by the headmistress. She has control of the jungle but it's only superficial, it will be hard even for her to find us. Get the equipment ready, we will camp here and during the morning we will continue."
They all followed Anana's orders and began to create their shelters without the use of magic to decrease the chances of being discovered.
William set up a small tent with his own hands, before starting to rest he used his mind's eye to check his surroundings. Using the mind's eye was already an everyday thing, after all he lived with this strange power all the time after his reincarnation and during his first year at Hogwarts it became what can be called indispensable.
"Excrement?" he asked himself when he noticed that his shoe was covered with that brown paste "it's fresh... oh no."
There was no doubt in William's mind, he had to warn Anana of the discovery before it was too late. Any of the beasts in the jungle were a risk to student mages like them.
"What kind of beast do you think it is?" asked Anana looking at the white-haired man.
All the important members of the dueling club were gathered at the spot where William had found the excrement, plus there were traces of hair and the like.
"Before selecting Castelobruxo as my first destination in this little exchange trip I studied all the possible magical fauna, I didn't want to miss any detail and thanks to that research I can be sure that this excrement belongs to a Broad-horned Gorrilla, these guys are territorial, right now we must be at one of the ends of their territory, I recommend getting away as soon as possible to avoid any unnecessary confrontation"
Anana looked at Nahuen who was at his back "Warn everyone, we're leaving in three minutes, just tell them that apparently they're tracking us. I don't want any of these idiots fighting the beast just to get some recognition."
All members of the expedition leave the site to make camp quietly, they avoided danger just barely but still kept their lives.
