CHAPTER 22
I ran along the lake for most of Saturday, trying to get my thoughts straight and get some perspective. However, throughout the hour-long journey to my parent's place, my anger against Miss Brown and the obnoxious flowers Joel brought to her came flooding back. I reclined in my seat in the hopes that the soothing hum of the automobile motor would help me. It wasn't functioning.
The facts are as follows: I had a tendency to be possessive of her. Not in a romantic manner, but rather out of a domineering, primal urge to seize her for myself. It was revolting, like wanting to grab her by force and prevent others from experiencing her. Just how bizarre was that? She would undoubtedly castrate me and serve my own balls to me on a platter if she ever heard me express such ideas.
