After discussing the plan with Liriel, Nikos heads to the adventurer's guild, with her walking beside him.
Liriel is wearing matte black leather armor, a dark cloak with a hood, and a thin chain-mail covering her vital spots. Three daggers are strapped to her hips, hidden under her cloak. This full set of dark armor complements her stealth talent perfectly.
Nikos, on the other hand, is dressed in light silver armor with leather clothing underneath, a medium-quality sword at his hip, and a magic inventory bag attached to his belt.
"Do you have any class?" Nikos asked as they walked.
Liriel shook her head, "I've never taken a test for my magic aptitude, sir."
"Is Lukas never tested you?"
"No sir, magic balls for testing aptitude are expensive, costing as much as a small mansion," she explained.
Nikos nodded in understanding.
They continued their conversation until they reached the adventurer's guild and stepped inside. The building was bustling with adventurers, various parties clad in armor and wielding fantastical weapons gathering around oaken tables.
The guild building itself had two floors. The first floor was where everyone gather, with tables and seats, reception desks, and quest and bulletin boards. The second floor was restricted to most people.
In one corner, the quest and bulletin boards stood side by side.
The quest board was filled with various quest requests pinned to it. Adventurers would go there, pluck off a quest, and head out to complete it, some discussing the details with their parties.
The bulletin board, on the other hand, was filled with general news, announcements, and recruitment notices.
Nikos, followed by Liriel, approached one of the reception desks to register themselves.
"How much it cost to register as adventurers?" he asked.
The female staff member responded with a smile, "Is it for two, sir?"
Nikos nodded.
"The registration fee is 2 gold for each person, so for two, it's 4 gold," she glanced at Nikos, then at the magic collar Liriel wore.
Nikos pulled out four gold coins and placed them on the desk, "Here, four gold for me and her."

Gold: 353 (-4)

The staff member took the coins and brought out two bronze 'Adventurer's Cards'. "Please provide your name and the name of your slave, sir."
"I'm Nikos, and she's Liriel."
The staff member nodded and registered their names on the cards. "Please follow me," she said, opening a door and inviting Nikos and Liriel to follow her into a seperate room where a magic ball was positioned in the center.
The female staff member stood next to the magic ball and called out, "Please step forward one by one."
Nikos gestured for Liriel to go first. She nodded and stepped forward.
Liriel placed her hand on the ball. In a second, the room was filled with light, and then a word formed in the air, showing her class as 'Assassin'. The class information was then transferred to her adventurer's card.
"Your turn, sir Nikos," the staff member smiled at him.
Nikos walked to the ball, is merchant could be consider as a class by this device. He then placed his hand on the ball. It glowed with light and then dimmed. After a couple of minutes, no class appeared in the air.
This magic ball didn't recognize merchant as a possible class, the same as it didn't consider Liriel talent as an elite spy and assistant as a class.
He turned back to the female staff member, who immediately explained, "I'm sorry, sir Nikos, but it seems you don't have any innate class talent. But don't worry, you can still learn a basic class by purchasing a class tome."
"I see, could you please show me how to buy one?" Nikos asked.
She smiled, "Yes, I'll show you how to do that," and guided them out of the room to the back of the guild.
Behind the adventurer's guild were two large training grounds, one for close-combat training and the other for ranged training.
"This building also has training grounds. You can rent the space to train your skills here," she explained.
In the close-combat training ground, a big, burly man was swinging a massive sword, cutting down training targets with steady and powerful movements. Noticing the female staff guiding Nikos, he sheathed his sword on his back.
"Who is that, Nori? Is he a new guy?" the big man asked the female staff, curios.
The female staff member, named Nori, responded, "Yes, Reychard. This is sir Nikos. He wants to buy a class tome."
Reychard nodded and smiled, "Maybe we can chat sometime, sir Nikos," to which Nikos replied with a polite nod.
"Carry on with your works, Nori. Sorry for taking your time," Reychard said to Nori as he returned to his training.
"Don't push yourself too hard, Reychard," Nori said to him, and Reychard nodded, while try to avoiding eye contact.
Interesting. Then Nori continued to guide Nikos and Liriel.
"That man is Reychard. He is the leader of a B-rank party called 'Lunar Vanguard'. It's one of the best parties in Oakheart town," Nori explained.
Nori was a petite woman with curly brown hair, wearing round glasses, she was in her staff uniform. And each step she took in front of Nikos was graceful and gentle.
"Nori that's a beautiful name, I guess you hear this coming a lot," Nikos complimented her nonchalantly.
She nodded and smiled at Nikos' compliment, "Yes, but it's not often I hear it from someone as attractive as sir Nikos."
"I'm flattered miss Nori thought of me as attractive," Nikos responded.
Nori giggled cutely at Nikos' comment, as they continue their conversation, while Liriel quietly observed him from behind.
They walked until they reached a secret room, where Nori used a magic key to open the door, and they stepped inside.
The secret room was spacious yet intimate, lined with shelves filled with magic books and tomes. In addition to the shelves, there were books stacked like mountains, and some tomes gently levitated in mid-air.
In the center of the room, a comfortable long sofa and a table were perfectly placed.
"Please, take a seat while I gather all the basic class tomes," Nori smiled and gestured towards the cozy sofa.
Nikos nodded and sat on the sofa, the moment he sit the plush cushions enveloped him, the material was incredibly soft and comfortable.
While he sat, Liriel remained standing beside him.
Glancing at her, Nikos patted the spot next to him, "Liriel, sit here."
"No sir, I'm more comfortable standing beside you," she replied shortly.
"Drop it," Nikos gently took her arm and pulled her down to sit beside him. "Who knows how long Nori will take to gather all the tomes. It's better to sit here."
Sitting next to him, Liriel lowered her head, her cheeks blushing pink.
The sounds of Nori searching through the tomes filled the room, mixed with the magical hum coming from the tomes themselves.
"Isn't this dangerous, Nori? With all these magical tomes, what if someone tries to rob this place?" Nikos asked.
"They would surely regret it, since Ms. Leana has placed powerful magic shards all around this room."
"And who is this Ms. Leana you're talking about?"
"Are you not from around here, sir Nikos? Ms. Leana is the most powerful witch in this town. She's also quite well-known in the neighboring towns," Nori replied while bringing a stack of tomes from the back.
"No, I'm not," he answer with smile.
"Here are the tomes for the basic classes," she said, placing eight tomes on the table.
"Each basic class costs 5 gold, but before you buy the tomes, I need to tell you, sir Nikos, that the class might not necessarily fit with your talent. It could just disappear when you use it, without giving you any class. That's the risk," Nori explained.
"Thanks for the explanation, Nori. I understand."
Nikos then touched one of the tomes with a 'Knight' class. Immediately, without any warning the system prompt out a new interface.
------------------------------------
Do you want to learn 'Knight' Class?
| YES | — | NO |

Nikos tilted his head at the system prompt, then touched another tome.
------------------------------------
Do you want to learn 'Healer' Class?
| YES | — | NO |
------------------------------------
For only 5 gold each, you could get all eight basic classes, which was much cheaper than buying them from the 'Class Shop' in the system. Nikos remained silent in thought.

2. Healer — 20SC
3. Support — 20SC

In the system, each basic class cost 20 System Credits (SC). The last time I checked the 'SC Converter,' 10 gold equaled 1 SC. But here, I could buy the basic classes for just 5 gold each—what a good deal.
Nikos turned back to Nori, "Nori, is this all the basic class that available?"
"No, but this is the majority of the basic classes that we have in this room."
"What about intermediate and high-level classes? Does the adventurer guild sell those too?"
"For those specific tomes, you would need to discuss it with Ms. Leana when she returns from her work, as the adventurer guild only has permission to sell the basic class tomes from her."
"I see," he nodded. "Then I'll pay for all these tomes," he said, handing over a total of 40 gold coins to Nori, which she happily accepted.

Without waiting any further, Nikos accepted all the basic class tomes and absorbed them.

Even in this world too, money can easily buy power. This realization brought a small grin to Nikos's lips. It seems that no matter where you go, money will always rule the world.
Nikos smiled and equipped the 'Support' class.

"How is it, sir Nikos? Do you feel any different?" Nori asked, both she and Liriel been watching him with curiosity.
"I feel like something has changed in my body."
Nori looked at the 'Adventurer Cards' and saw that Nikos's card now showed his class as 'Support'. "It's confirmed; you have the Support class, sir Nikos. Here," she said, handing the cards to them.
The adventurer cards displayed their names, classes, and their rank as F-rank adventurers.
"Do you have any other questions, sir Nikos?" Nori asked, to which Nikos shook his head.
"Then, let's go back to the main hall."
They left the room and returned to the main hall.
In the main hall, the number of adventurers had decreased by more than half; it was not as crowded as before. They must have already gone out to complete their quests.
After thanking Nori, Nikos walked to the quest board and examined each task. He took one quest and read the job description. As he did, a system interface appeared.
