You'll be the guardian

Wake up, wake up" Kiara yelled at the other two.

The gods did a good job making Kiara part of the team, because if it were only the other two they'll sleep for a millennium till Farrack reasons fire from heaven.

"What is it?" Kyra asked in annoyance and Wynstar growled. They definitely gate being disturbed from their sleep.

And it's not like they haven't slept. Gosh! They slept a whole day and some extra hours. But they are not to blame, the stress is just too much on them.

"We are to start our journey today"

"Oh I'm so tired"

"Get up we have to move, I think the gods chose me to assist you because you always wake up late" Kiara said with her hands on her hips feeling proud of herself. Seeing them now you'd think Kiara is the older one.

Kyra stands up and changes into a trouser and a shirt dressed up like a boy. The duo have decided to dress up like boys to be comfortable because the journey isn't a short one. When their mama was alive they usually dress like that to hunt.

Who wears a gowns or flare skirts to hunt?

Apparently no one.

"oh gods I'm so tired" Kyra yawned rubbing her hands on her eyes.

"Wynstar baby get up we need to move"

Wynstar stood up and they got out of the cottage with a few supplies locking the door. They made their way to the Holy Temple gaining stares as usual because of their dressing and Wynstar. They use a leech to control Wynstar around but people still pave the way not wanting to get in the tiger's way.

People are wondering what kind of insane people will carry a tiger about. And this just managed to confirm the rumors of them being witches because normal people don't carry tigers around but the duo have more on their plate to worry about than rumors.

They enter the temple and made their way to the office of the priests, they've been there before so they know the routes.

Before they could knock on the twin large doors it opened revealing the three priests of the kingdom.

"Well, well, well look who is here again" the priest who looked like the head exclaimed adding emphasis to 'again'.

"So now you are ready to embark on the journey"

"Yes" Kyra replied with a tired look on her face.

"Ok let's get to business, come here let me bless your journey" the priest said with a bored expression while touching his extremely long white beard.

They all walk toward him "kneel" he commanded them when they were in front of him.

"Hmmm?" Kyra asked with confusion work on her features.

"I said kneel down" the priest said raising his voice a bit and they obey while Wynstar just sits.

The priests are not afraid of the tiger for some unknown reasons.

The three priests stretch their hands towards them and begin to speak in an unknown language praying for them and blessing their journey.

"Rise, you may now go" the priest said and they all get up ready to leave.

"Before you go pay a visit to the Emperor" the priest said just before they are about to leave.

And they nod leaving the temple. They made their way towards the palace.

"I'm a bit nervous sis" Kiara said to Kyra.

"Why?"

"I've never been to the Imperial palace"

"We are in the same shoes sisi, but you just have to calm down, nothing will go wrong afterall we got orders from the priests"

"Ok" Kiara replied and sighed.

They get to the gate and meet six hefty guards guarding it. "What do you want here" one of the guards asks them with an irritated tone.

And Kyra said with her head held high in confidence "We are here to see the Emperor"

And the six guards start laughing an Kyra looks at them in confusion while Kiara is just quiet.

"Did I say something funny?" Kyra asked with an irritated tone.

"Who do you think you are that you can just come and see the Emperor anyhow? And which normal person moves around with a tiger and you even being it with you here, are planning on assassinating the Emperor" another guard said and the rest nod in unison.

"I am Kyra Darvin, this is my sister Kiara, we are normal people and this tiger here is my pet, Wynstar, we do not plan on assassinating the Emperor and to think that we plan to kill the Emperor with a tiger will be very stupid how can I and my sister with a tiger stand against the thousands of guards guarding the palace but anyways we have been sent by the priests to speak to the Emperor so I would like you to relay to the emperor this message, 'two girls and a tiger sent by the priest are waiting to have an urgent meeting with you' and please be fast we don't have time" Kyra said with so much boldness that the guards wlere shocked, she even dared to insult them.

"I'll ask you again who do you think you are" the guard asked again with annoyance in his voice.

"I never knew they employ dumb people as guards here" Kyra said face palming herself "I just told you who I am and what I am here for and you are asking me again, what else do you want to hear, huh?, Please I don't have so much time to spare even a second" Kyra said and Kiara looked at her sister with her mouth open agape in shock.

She knows her sister can be rude and sassy but she wasn't expecting this.

"I'll teach you someone respect you bit**" he said throwing a punch at Kyra but she dodged it with ease.

"Don't get on my nerves lad, I just want to see the Emperor and I'm asking politely or do you want I and my sister with my tiger to fight our way through?" Kyra asked with gritted teeth as she tilts her head to the side.

"You think you can fight us?" He asked with a loud hysterical laugh.

"I don't think mister I know" Kyra said with a smirk on her face.

"Don't judge a book by its cover" Kiara said with giggle speaking for the first time since they got here.

Even in a situation like this the girl still seemed to giggle.

"What did you say miss?"

"I said what you heard" Kiara said with a smile plastered on her face "why can't we see the Emperor?"

"Because people don't just wake up one morning and decide to see the Em-" he says.

"What's going on here?" A majestic voice asks and all attention was drawn to the source and the guards bow their heads in unison and said "all hail the Prince".

He was dressed in royal robes looking so handsome with his blonde hair cascading down his shoulders and he had blue eyes. He was around 6ft 5inch tall.

"Nothing my prince it is just these commoners saying the priests sent them to see the Emperor"

"Is that true" he said directing his question to the girls

"Yes my Prince, we need to see the Emperor urgently and these guards here have refused us to see him" Kiara said with her pointed noise in the air.

"You aren't lying that the priests sent you?" The Prince asked with his eyebrows raised.

"Yes" Kyra and Kiara said in unison.

"So what are you doing with a tiger"

"Don't worry it won't hurt you as far as you don't anger it. She's is perfectly tamed and she's our pet" Kiara says.

"Ok follow me, but if you are lying there will be consequences" the Prince said and turned around expecting them to follow suit.

'that was easy' Kyra thought.

Kyra and Kiara entered but not before making funny faces at the guards.

"I saw both of you from the tower and got intrigued, what are your names by the way?"

"My name is Kyra Darvin"

"And my name is Kiara Darvin and this is our pet, Wynstar"

"You both are sisters?"

"Yes my prince" Kiara said with a smile.

"Wow, I would never guess"

"I know right" Kiara giggles.

"gods does this girl have to flirt with every guy, even the Prince" Kyra thought and mentally facepalmed.

"So you, Kyra you don't talk much, huh?"

"I talk, but I talk with people I'm familiar with and talk only when necessary with people I am not familiar with"

"Oh I see, but everyone practically knows me, but whatever, so I'm guessing you are the older one?" He asked as they approach the second gate and pass the guards with ease but not without the guards giving the girls and the tiger strange stares wondering why they are with the Prince.

"Yes my Prince" Kyra replied with a bored expression.

"Does she have to be rude" Kiara wondered.

"Ok"

And they walk in silence till they get to the third gate and then they reach the palace and the guards open the extra large twin doors for them to step in.

The palace is very beautiful. It has pillars made of gold the walls perfectly painted with designs and drawings that have different meanings and history and the beautiful ceramic designed tiles. You could tell that the palace was ancient.

They walked for a long period before they came to stop at an overly designed doubled door with two guards guarding it.

"Tell my dad I'm here to see him" the Prince told the guard and he nodded, went in, came back right after and told them to go in.

"What do you want, Eros?" The Emperor asked without looking up from the papers on his mahogany desk.

"Dad, these girls are here to see you" the Prince replied his father while plumping himself on a soft cushion by the corner white the other two stood.

Their mother always that 'it is bad to sit without being told' and now they were putting it to use.

"Well, who might you two be and why did you bring a tiger in here" the Emperor asked looking up from his papers and adjusting his reading glasses.

"My name is Kyra Darvyn, this is my sister Kiara Darvyn and this tiger here is our pet"

"Ok so why are you here?" The Emperor asked them

"Sir you must be aware of the missing gems, the diamond and the ruby which has been taken by the greedy king, Zarek, the gods have decided that I will be the one with the help of my sister and my tiger as my assistants will be the ones to retrieve them back from the King and after that I'll be there new guardian but before that we are to go on a journey to the 'Dark Forest' and how we got the information was through the priests after they announced that the two gems were missing to the people in the Holy Temple one of the priests came and told us to follow him and they informed us that the gods have ordained us to the mission to retrieve the stolen gems and then we decided to flee from this Kingdom on sea and to cut the long story short we fell into the sea from the ship we boarded and a large whale swallowed us and vomited us on shore in the morning as that was when we met with god of fire Farrack and he told us he was the master mind behind us being swallowed by a whale and that was when we believed that the gods were real and he told us that we are to embark on a journey to the 'Dark Forest' and then we will be the ones to save the day and I'll become the guardian of the six gems and we went to the priests and they played for us and they said we should come here to see you and I don't know why" Kyra said in one go.

"She said 'to cut the long story short' but she didn't shorten it" Kiara giggled inwardly.

"I'm aware you were coming but I just wanted to be sure, that's a long and funny story you have there" the King laughed.

'No wonder it was easy for us to get in' Kiss reasoned in her head.

A laugh was heard at the corner of the room and they turned to see the source and it was the Prince, all three of them have forgotten that he was ever there.

"Sorry, the story is just so funny" the Prince said using his hands to cover his mouth as he was already red from holding his laughter for so long.

"Ok so is there anything you want for the journey" he asked them ignoring his son.

"Sir nothing really, you could just give us some money so we could buy some required things for the journey" Kyra replied.

"Ok I'll give you some amount of money, just sit on the waiting chairs outside this room" the Emperor ordered them and they left to do as told.

As soon as the girls were outside the door the Emperor started to speak "Eros, you'll join these girls on the journey, I do not want them to be the guardian of the gems, you'll be the guardian, ok"

"Yes dad, but are you sure about this"

"One hundred percent sure my son, we have talked about this before just befriend that smart mouth, make her fall in love with you, you know what we talked about" the King said and Eros nodded

"You mean the red head one?" Eros asked with a light chuckle.

"Yes, she's the leader, don't let her control everything"

"Yes dad"

"I'll give you the money" the Emperor tells the Prince and hands him some money "now go outside and tell them you'll join them on the journey"

Prince Eros walked out to meet the three. "I'll be escorting both of you on the journey to the 'Dark Forest' " the Prince informed them " I know you'll want to buy some foodstuffs and I know it won't be easy to carry lots of stuff around, there is an antique shop in the general market just asks for 'Zariel's antique shop' and they'll direct you there you'll ask him for a space bag it's a magical small bag that can contain lots of things in it. I can't follow you to the market so when you are done buying all the things you want to buy you both will come back here so we can go together we have horses that you can go with in the royal stable".

"Ok we've heard you, but we already have our horses, thank you" Kyra said not sparing him a glance and he smirked.

If the King wanted his son to follow them, then so be it, she had no say.

"She must be really tough" the Prince wondered

"Ok" he said and pat Kyra on the back and gives her a small smile.

"Was that the Prince being flirty with my sister, I know she didn't notice it, but I'll rather not tell her" Kiara thought with a smile on her face.

They went to the market and bought the magical bag and the food stuffs and other stuffs they needed. They went back to their cottage to get the horses that Farrack gifted them with.

Wynstar is already used to seeing people, so she doesn't hurt them but people will still run none the less so they decided to take a lonely road to the palace.

They returned to the palace after they were through with all that they wanted to do, and this time they didn't have a hard time going inside.
