In a massive white room located amid an endless void, two figures argued relentlessly with one another. One of the figures was much larger than the other and she sat behind a desk wearing professional attire, resembling an earthly secretary.
The other figure was a naked young man with a chiseled body, golden eyes with a small tattoo around them, and golden hair. He tapped his foot restlessly on the ground as he stared into the eyes of the woman, contemplating something.
"I said, you can only choose 3 abilities, why are you making this so hard?! You've been thinking long enough. Hurry and choose or the master will put this opportunity on hold...indefinitely."
"This..."
The young man raised an eyebrow and took another glance at the book in his hands which detailed many abilities that were scattered across many dimensions.
His task was to choose 3 people from which he would gain their abilities. Unfortunately, he would be stuck with them for the rest of his life in a new world in which he would be reincarnated for the 'Masters' enjoyment. So understandably, the decision wasn't something he could make lightly.
Especially since he couldn't make heads or tails of many of the abilities listed in the book.
"Divide By Zero...hmm. I might end up destroying myself with this power before I even manage to master it. Tch, whatever. I'll just go with the abilities of the 3 people that caught my eye. Sigh, now to deal with this annoying woman."
"I can hear you!"
The woman tapped her heels faster as she adjusted the glasses on the bridge of her nose. The young man, pretending as if he didn't hear her, said, "These 3, Jahad, Ohkwang, and Jin/Dan/Hui Mori. Their abilities will do nicely."
The Secretary looked down at the large book in front of her and glanced back at the young man a few times before writing something down. She adjusted her glasses once again as she said, "What name will you go by in that world? It's based in an altered version of ancient China, so your name will be reminiscent of the times."
Giving a bit of thought to the situation, the young man gave a name which was a play on words to his English name when he was alive.
"Ta Sen."
The secretary wrote down his name and pointed to a random part of the room, opening a portal.
"Go. And..."
With a snap of her fingers, some long luxurious red robes appeared over Ta Sen's naked body, covering his entire body.
"You're welcome."
Ta Sen smiled sheepishly and briskly walked into the portal so he could get away from the woman. Her temper wasn't something he wanted to contend with.
As soon as he walked in and the portal closed, the woman harrumphed while saying loudly, "NEXT!"
[Country Of Da Qi, Ping Yang Town, Home of the Su Family.]
BOOM!
A large explosion sounded out as something akin to a meteor landed in the courtyard of the Su Family.
"Who?!"
"We're under attack!"
Many of the men drew their weapons and surrounded the place where the explosion took place.
Four men that exuded particularly powerful auras stepped forth and stared at the smoking crater with intense gazes. One of the older men said quietly as he turned to a man to his side, "Captain Liu, be on guard."
The old man stomped on the ground and caused the smoke to clear, revealing a figure in luxurious red robes inside of the crater. The young man laid unconscious as the men slowly surrounded him, making sure he didn't make any sudden movements.
In his right hand was a gourd that gave off a mystical feeling and even his robes flowed gently without any wind.
The old man had an astonished expression on his face as he glanced at the few men around him and nodded. Captain Liu, the leader of the guards, walked forward and tried to pick up the young man.
"Urgh! Damn, how is he so heavy?! Guards, help me carry this young man back to the guest room!"
Some of the guards glanced at each other in awe because they knew exactly how strong their captain was. For him to be unable to carry one young man was unprecedented!
Ten guards, including Captain Liu, struggled back to the guest house under the watchful gazes of Uncle Zheng and two other leaders of the Su Clan. Uncle Zheng turned to the other old man next to him and said with a grave look on his face, "Old Guan, could he be..."
The old man wearing black robes who Uncle Zheng referred to as Old Guan also had a grave expression on his face as turned to Uncle Zheng.
"You've read my thoughts well, Old Zheng. If he is indeed an immortal, we could enlist his help to deal with our situation. After all, he seems to be in dire straits. Sigh...let's hope he remembers that we saved him or...we might have just invited a calamity upon ourselves."
Old Guan shook his head and walked back into the clan deep in contemplation as Old Zheng followed briskly in tow. The only people left behind were a few guards and a young man named Yuchi Huo, one of the more popular guards in the Su family, famous for his hotheadedness.
'Could that young man be an immortal?...'
Yuchi Huo swallowed his saliva as he thought about what he was going to do when he saw the young man at first.
'It's a good thing Uncle Zheng stopped me from acting rashly, or else...'
Yuchi Huo wiped the cold sweat on his forehead as he thought about all the ways he could've been killed. Shaking himself out of the daze, he turned around and shouted, "Alright, let's get everything cleaned up. If you find anything inside of the hole, turn it into Uncle Zheng. Our guest is someone we can't afford to offend!"
