It was an expected answer, truly. Eve was going to the reincarnation cycle, and as the name suggests, she was going to reincarnate. All earthly ties would be broken and there was no possible chance for her to return.
It's just, the thought of never seeing each other again seemed insufferable.
Avina looked back, eyes flickering with uncertainty. It was the natural instinct of finally feeling familial love, but Avina didn't want to say goodbye - not now.
Mom forced herself to smile, but what floated atop was an ugly grin. She held herself back from exposing her unwillingness because she knew, ultimately, it was best for Eve to go.
"Go, dear," Mom said, pushing her towards Luciv like earlier. Her voice shook with desperation, hoping her mask wouldn't fall off. "Don't be late."
She repeated her words in the same tone as before, but now, in her eyes, pieces of her heart were shattering. A touching reunion was going to end for all eternity.
