Several tense minutes later, Alex slumped back on the couch, the exhaustion from his journey finally catching up to him. He'd lost the gamble.
"Hahaha! You lost that one, huh? But seriously, what happens if you fail one of these enchantments? Does the item just…poof?"
Alex sighed, a sheepish grin creeping onto his face. "Yeah, it disappears. Gone. Poof."
"Hmm, that's a bit risky, Maybe you should stick to a blacksmith next time. They might destroy the item in the process, but at least you'd have some leftover materials."
Alex considered this for a moment, a hesitant frown replacing his grin.
Blacksmithing was a foreign concept to him, but the idea of losing precious items in a gamble wasn't appealing either.
Despite the loss, a flicker of pride remained in Alex's eyes. "At least I still have these two," he announced, holding up the necklaces for them to admire.
