Red Mountain Academy

As a small smile filled with expectations of the future formed on Gloxinia's face, the robed man started speaking once more.

"Excuse me, young man, my name is Pou Tan, I am from Spirit Pagoda and was wondering if you wanted to join our Elementary Soul Master School." Looking at Gloxinia with expectation, Pou Tan desperately wanted him to join the Spirit Pagoda, because every time he recruits a talented child he would obtain about 2000 Federation Dollars.

Looking at the man who introduced himself as Pou Tan, Gloxinia couldn't help but feel a little disgust because of the look in his eyes when he said that. It's almost as if he was looking at something precious he couldn't live without. Quickly responding as to drive him away, Gloxinia simply stated, "I'll have to think about it, sorry."

'No way am I joining Spirit Pagoda, although I only reached sea god's dating festival in the novel I know for a fact that Spirit Pagoda had bombed Shrek Academy and acted as a villain.' Thinking like this Gloxinia suddenly felt a sense of urgency, as he truly did not know much after the Dragon Valley arc because in truth he skipped a few chapters so he could get to the festival part and see the pairings.

"Hm.. Then please think it over well. In the mean time, this is a special card for those with full innate soul power. It will allow you to get a 10 year old spirit soul." Pou Tan disappointedly responded and handed Gloxinia a small black card with an image of an eye in the middle.

Grabbing the card, he could feel the smooth texture of the metal and the coolness of it seeping into his skin, cooling down his worked up nerves from the awakening of his martial soul.

Saying his goodbyes, Gloxinia went back outside of the Awakening Chamber and went to the admissions office of the academy to join the soul master class and get his own dorm.

Arriving at the admissions office, they were told that he would be able to get his breakfast, lunch, and dinner from the canteen in the academy. He was also told that if he needed anything he could just go back to the admissions office and get whatever he needed as long as it was within reason.

Now finished with the official stuff, Gloxinia said goodbye to the person who has taken care of him this entire time and went to his dorms to relax.

The next day, just as the sky revealed the first glimmers of light, Gloxinia was woken up by his excitement. After all, today was the day he would begin attending the academy. He had officially entered the Red Mountain Academy's Soul Master class. This would be the first day of his nine years of learning. Who wouldn't be excited at a time like this?

According to the regulations set by the Sun Moon Federation, elementary and intermediate academies had free tuition and were compulsory. Elementary academy was three years while the intermediate academy was six years long. There were several ways to enter an advanced academy: outstanding achievements, paying an exceedingly expensive tuition, or entering an academy of science and specializing in a field of study.

But, for Gloxinia he knows a better path. This is to follow Tang Wulin until he gets to Shrek Academy.

Walking towards his classroom in school, Gloxinia thought about the spirit soul he should get after school. After all, there are many options to choose from since it's not like how it used to be 10,000 years ago when you had to hunt actual soul beasts for a soul ring. Now, all you need to do is open a little container and aborb a spirit soul.

As he arrived at the outside of his classroom, he noticed a teacher that welcomed him to the class and told him to sit anywhere he wished. If one looks left and right from the door, you would notice that only the soul master class has a teacher outside the door waiting for them, showing the significance of soul master's in this era.

The ordinary class would receive a normal cultural education while the Soul Master class would also learn how use their innate soul power to become Soul Masters. They would also be taught knowledge essential to Soul Masters and prepare to enter an intermediate academy.

This year's Soul Master class only had 16 students, the number of children who had awakened soul power were simply too low. It was even more apparent in a small city like Glorybound City. This year's arrivals could actually be considered a lot.

As he entered the class, a chubby boy who wasn't too tall appeared beside him and asked, "Hey, what's your martial soul?"

Deciding not to show too much to these kids who still have hopes and dreams he simply replied, "It's a green blanket, a super comfortable one too!" As he said this, Gloxinia flipped over his hand and a green blanket with spots reminiscent to a leopard's appeared.

"Pff." The little fatty said disdainfully, "Ah, a Blanket! That's a trash martial soul." After insulting Gloxinia, he ignored him and coldly walked away.

Cracking his thumb on instinct, Gloxinia took a few deep breaths to calm down and quickly walked to an open seat whilst repeatedly reminding himself that they were just children who hadn't seen the world yet.

At this time, the teacher happened to walk in and started talking,

"Hello everyone. I'm your homeroom teacher, Lin Ximeng. I'll be teaching you the basic knowledge required for Soul Masters over the next three years. How about you all introduce yourselves now? Tell us your name, martial soul and innate soul power rank."

There were only 16 students, so the introductions went by quickly. When Li Ximeng heard that Tang Wulin's martial soul was Bluesilver Grass, he couldn't help but be startled while the other students roared with laughter.

When they heard that Gloxinia had twin martial souls of a Blanket and Rainbow Wings, the children couldn't help but show a trace of admiration whilst also being extremely envious. As for the teacher, Li Ximeng, he showed a surprised expression as if he couldn't believe what he had just heard.

Lin Ximeng quickly regained his composure and smiled. "Today is your first day of class, so I'll be explaining the different classifications for martial souls first. In the afternoon, I'll teach you how to meditate. Meditation is the only way to temper and improve your soul power. If you want to become a true Soul Master, then you all must strive your hardest."

"As you all know, everyone in our world has a martial soul. One's martial soul awakens at the age of six, and it can be anything. If one also awakens soul power, then they can cultivate to become a Soul Master. Now a question for all of you, what classifications are there for martial souls?"

"First of all, the two main classes are tool souls and beast souls. Among them, all of the martial souls that appear on the body are beast souls. If they appear separately from the body, then they're tool souls. By cultivating your soul power, you're able to upgrade your martial soul. After your soul power reaches rank 10, then you're able to become a Soul Master."

"There are also two main classes of Soul Masters. The Battle Soul Masters and Utility Soul Masters. Those who cultivate with the goal of fighting are Battle Soul Masters. Regardless of what someone's martial soul is, they are still a Soul Master. There are also many minor classifications…"

Even though Gloxinia already knew this from the novels and manhua, he still paid a lot of attention, as he could easily forget some of the smaller details.
