Gu Yicing was stunned.
Had Fu Hannian planted a tracker on her? How had he managed to follow her here so quickly?
Wait... Did that mean he'd heard her telling that man to take off his pants?
Her face flushed with embarrassment. This situation couldn't get any worse.
"President Fu… What brings you here?" Wu Yong stammered, hastily pulling up his pants and straightening his clothes. He scurried over like a lackey, desperately trying to win favor. "I didn't know you'd be coming by. Should I arrange for a bigger private room? Maybe invite a few beautiful women to accompany you?"
Fu Hannian didn't even spare him a glance, walking straight past him as though he were invisible. His eyes locked onto Gu Yicing with an intensity that made her shrink back, unsure of what to say or how to explain herself.
Before she could speak, his strong hand clamped around her wrist, the grip so tight she thought he might crush it. His eyes blazed with a terrifying coldness—ferocious, dangerous, and unyielding.
"Do you even know what you're doing?" His sharp voice cut through the air like a blade, making Gu Yicing tremble involuntarily.
His presence was too overwhelming, his authority too suffocating. Despite her usual courage, she felt a rare pang of fear.
"I was just fulfilling a medical assignment, treating his… impotence," she said truthfully, trying to stay calm. "Let go of me. You're hurting me."
She struggled, attempting to pry his fingers off her wrist, but it was no use. His grip was like a steel vise, and he ignored her protests entirely.
Meanwhile, Wu Yong stood frozen in place, watching the scene unfold with growing unease. He had been curious about the relationship between Fu Hannian and this woman, but after hearing Gu Yicing casually mention his condition in front of Fu, his face flushed with humiliation.
This was not something he wanted his boss to know—especially not in such a public and embarrassing way. He lowered his head, wishing he could disappear.
Fu Hannian, however, paid no attention to Wu Yong's embarrassment. His voice was icy and commanding as he spoke. "Resign from the medical alliance. Immediately."
Gu Yicing's eyes widened in shock, and she forcefully wrenched her wrist from his grip. "Why should I?"
"Because you're Mrs. Fu. And that's an order," Fu Hannian said, his words measured and full of authority. His deep eyes were filled with unmistakable anger.
Mrs. Fu?
Wu Yong nearly fainted on the spot. This woman was Fu Hannian's wife? How was it possible that he hadn't known? He'd nearly crossed a line with her—he was lucky to still be alive at this point.
In a moment of desperation, Wu Yong figured that Fu Hannian, being preoccupied with his wife, might not have time to deal with him. Taking advantage of the distraction, he attempted to sneak away, his pudgy frame edging toward the door.
But before he could escape, Li Feng—who had been standing guard outside—grabbed the back of his collar and dragged him back into the room. "Where do you think you're going? The President still has business with you."
"Assistant Li, I was just going to get a larger room for President Fu. I'll be right back…" Wu Yong stammered, his voice trembling with fear.
"The room we're in is more than sufficient to handle the matter at hand," Li Feng said coldly. "Stand up straight and don't move."
Wu Yong had no choice but to obey, standing rigidly, sweating profusely as he waited for whatever punishment was coming.
Meanwhile, Gu Yicing continued to resist Fu Hannian's demands. She had never liked being controlled, and the fact that Fu was trying to issue orders like this only made her more determined to stand her ground.
"I'm a doctor, Fu Hannian. It's my job to treat patients, regardless of what their condition is. My duty is to help people, not to bow to your insecurities. You have no reason to be jealous—I haven't done anything to betray you."
"You had him take off his pants, and you're telling me you haven't crossed any lines?" Fu Hannian's voice dripped with sarcasm and fury. His cold eyes fixed on her with the kind of intensity that sent chills down her spine. "Gu Yicing, you must think I'm a fool if you expect me to tolerate you playing doctor with random men like this."
His eyebrows knitted together, forming a deep frown of displeasure.
"Times have changed, Fu Hannian," Gu Yicing said, her voice rising in defiance. "You can't still hold on to such outdated ideas. Acupuncture is a legitimate medical practice. You're being irrational."
"Outdated?" he sneered. "Tell me, is it outdated to expect my wife to be cautious around men who clearly have ulterior motives? You must have noticed by now that he wasn't just looking for treatment."
Fu Hannian's anger flared as he yanked her closer, pinning her against the wall behind them. His dark eyes burned with barely restrained fury, his finger pointing accusingly in Wu Yong's direction.
"Look at him. Do you really think he just wanted your medical expertise?"
Gu Yicing winced as her back hit the cold wall, but she didn't back down. "I saw it. I know what he wanted, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm a professional. I was never going to let things go that far."
"You were already halfway there. What was next?" Fu Hannian's voice was like a whip, cracking down on her resolve.
