"Mmm..." Gu Yining instinctively resisted, trying to push him away.
But no matter how hard she tried, her strength was insignificant to him, as if she were no more than a tiny ant. Instead of succeeding in her struggle, she was lifted onto his lap, forced into an intimate position as he continued his forceful kiss.
The air in her lungs seemed to vanish, and her pale face flushed red. Compared to the previous two times, this kiss was just as domineering, yet she detected a hint of softness, a trace of sweetness beneath it.
Was it just her imagination?
After what felt like an eternity, Fu Hanyan finally released her.
Gu Yining kept her head down, too embarrassed to look at him. The atmosphere inside the car felt a little awkward, but strangely enough, she felt a bit lighter, almost giddy.
This man had been so harsh just now, yet he kissed her. And for what? He ignored her for an entire week over a baseless photo!
Could it be... had Fu Hanyan really fallen for her?
Instead of immediately getting off his lap, Gu Yining placed her small hands on his cold, chiseled face and gently turned it towards her, forcing him to meet her gaze.
His sharp, eagle-like eyes glinted with a cold, stern light as he looked back at her.
His perfect features were slightly squished under her touch.
"What are you doing?" Fu Hanyan asked harshly.
No woman had ever dared treat his face like this before.
Yet, despite his cold words, he didn't pull her hands away.
That was a sign—he was indulging her.
"Fu Hanyan, have you already fallen for me? Hmm?" Gu Yining asked, smiling playfully.
His expression immediately darkened as he pried her hands off his face. "How could that be?"
It was as if she had hit a nerve. His denial was hasty and forceful.
"Then why did you kiss me just now? And before that, and the time before that—you've kissed me so many times!" Gu Yining pressed, genuinely curious.
"I simply wanted to shut up that noisy mouth of yours, alright?" Fu Hanyan retorted, offering a flimsy excuse, one even he didn't believe. His refined face turned towards the window, avoiding her gaze entirely.
"There are plenty of ways to shut someone up," Gu Yining said with a teasing grin. "You could use tape or a cloth, for example. Why use your lips? Do you always use this method to quiet women?"
She was relentless, determined to expose his true feelings.
"Fine, next time I'll use tape or a cloth," Fu Hanyan said coldly, his voice filled with finality.
Gu Yining was speechless.
What a stubborn man! If he won't admit it, so be it!
Frustrated, Gu Yining turned her head, staring out the window in silence.
Meanwhile, in the driver's seat, Li Feng continued driving like an emotionless machine, barely noticeable in his quiet efficiency. Right now, it was better for him to stay that way—completely invisible.
Suddenly, Fu Hanyan grabbed her wrist, his eyes narrowing as he examined a noticeable cut on her arm. "What happened to your hand?"
"Oh... I accidentally cut myself while slicing fruit," Gu Yining quickly lied.
She couldn't tell him the truth—that she had seduced a man and lured him to a remote location. If Fu Hanyan knew, he'd surely jump to all kinds of conclusions.
Better to avoid unnecessary drama.
"You cut yourself slicing fruit? And you managed to cut yourself *there*? You really are something," Fu Hanyan sneered.
"You..." Gu Yining was so angry she couldn't even find the words.
If you don't know how to speak kindly, then just keep quiet! Is he really trying to drive his own wife insane?
Shouldn't a normal man be holding her hand, showering her with concern? Not mocking her?
Finally, they arrived at the Fu family mansion.
The moment the car stopped, Gu Yining practically leaped out of the vehicle.
Fu Hanyan, however, followed behind her at a leisurely pace as they entered the main hall. "Come to the study with me," he said, his tone as commanding as ever.
