Hopes

It took all night, but Jun finally removed the last person's seal. Staring at his hand, he could feel his chakra reserves increasing quite a bit, and they wouldn't stop there.

All of the Hyuga that had their seals removed were ecstatic. The group's morale was high, and they were ready to rush into the main house's residence, to claim what was theirs.

Walking up to Yuji and Nozomi, Jun smiled warmly. "It's done. From now on, everything's in your hands... I have to go see my little brother; I'm sure he misses me." Picking up his backpack with all of his belongings and cash, Jun prepared to leave.

"You won't help us...?" Anxious, Nozomi gripped his cloak's sleeve, refusing to let go. "You can't leave us now! We're almost there!"

"Help? You guys don't need it." Making sure he didn't forget anything, Jun yanked his hands out and started walking away. "If I were to partake in this endeavor, I would be labeled as an instigator. Plus, this is your clan's matters... I shouldn't meddle any more than I already have."

"..."

Seeing Jun's disappearing back, Nozomi felt depressed. Next to her, Yuji made a warm smile and ran his hand through her hair.

"Let him go, Nozomi. He's already helped us enough... Our entire clan is indebted to him." Looking at Jun's disappearing figure, Yuji sighed. "I don't know where you found such an incredible man for his age. My daughter sure is good at finding partners..."

"What!? It's not like that!" Punching her father in the gut, Nozomi was red all the way down to her neck. "We're just friends! Who would want to be with an annoying, cynical, rude, and egotistical person!?"

"O-ok... No need to get defensive..." Seeing a side to his daughter that he never had before, Yuji felt a chill run down his spine. "Sorry for assuming..."

Even if she said so, Yuji could feel the care Jun had for his daughter. He could recognize a great man when he saw one... One that genuinely cared for his friends.

If Jun was the one leading the Uchiha, Yuji couldn't wait for both of their clans to flourish together.

'It would be perfect if they could somehow...'

Eyeing his daughter, a few ideas came into his head.

On his way back to Masaki's residence, Jun strolled through the Uchiha compound. Every time someone saw him, they would either nod or politely greet him.

It was a stark contrast when compared to how he and his brother were treated on the first day he arrived. Now, he finally garnered some respect.

'I guess that this counts as partially repaying the favor, huh?' Jun remembered what he set out to do from the very beginning. He had to repay the previous Jun in some way, after all.

It wasn't long before he made it back to the house. Sliding the door open, he took off his sandals and ventured in. As he made his way through the corridors, he could hear faint cries coming from one of the rooms near him.

Curious, he got closer and silently opened the door. Inside, Mikoto sat with her legs tucked under her as she sobbed. Alone in the room, she gave off a melancholic feeling, which Jun knew all too well.

It was the feeling of loss. This extreme sadness that permeated your body, when you realized that a person that was once with you, had left for good. It was like a void in your stomach, something ten times worse than butterflies, that kept you awake at night.

He was much too familiar with this terrible feeling, after watching his brothers die, one by one.

Pitying her, Jun slid the door open, announcing his presence. Startled, Mikoto looked at him before quickly turning back, drying her tears. She then spoke in a meek tone. "What brings you here..."
