"Sheng Yin…" she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Sheng Yin immediately wrapped her arms around her sister, pulling her into a tight embrace. "It's okay, Lea. I'm here."
Yu Shuchang stepped inside, glancing around before giving the sisters space. "I'll give you two a moment," he muttered, disappearing into the living room.
Sheng Yin gently guided Yu Holea to the couch, sitting beside her.
"Tell me everything," she said softly, brushing a strand of hair away from Yu Holea's face.
Yu Holea sniffled, her voice trembling.
"It all happened so fast. Qiao Jun called me this evening and said he needed to talk. I thought it was something minor, but then… he told me he couldn't go through with the engagement.
He didn't even give a reason. Just… coldly asked me to break it off."
Sheng Yin clenched her fists, struggling to keep her composure.
"Did he say anything else?"
