Chapter 37: Mixed Feelings

He was waiting to see how he would react once he sees Kaia also.

Kaia rushed her food. Meanwhile, Chelsea had already stood up to get the lawyer a glass of juice.

"Here," she said as she stretched out her hands towards him.

The lawyer only stared blankly at her which caused her to bite her lips. She had no idea if he would accept the juice in her hands but looking at him right now, there was no doubt he would reject it.

"Forget it, it's my fault," Chelsea said with a smile but if you looked close into her eyes, you could see the disappointment she tried to cover up with a smile.

"I'm thirsty," he called out to her as she was about to leave. Chelsea turned to look at him because she felt her ears had heard wrongly.

But it wasn't true. It was the lawyer who said so. She was so excited that she beamed really hard. She dropped the glass of juice on the table.

"Do you need snacks? I made them myself," Chelsea enthusiastically asked.
