Chapter 43: That Man

"Will the restaurant still be open tonight?" After paying the bill, William asked in a hoarse voice, but didn't leave yet.

Jennifer was taken aback for a moment, then realized that he meant to come back tonight. This was the first returning customer.

She smiled gently and said, "We're open at night too. You're welcome to come."

William gazed at her smile with fondness and murmured softly, "Yeah, I'll come tonight."

After saying that, he left.

Isabella pulled on Jennifer's clothes in disbelief and asked, "Mommy, am I hearing correctly? Did that customer say he will come back to eat our spaghetti again?"

"I don't know, maybe it was just polite talk," Jennifer answered, smiling without giving it much thought, then turned to attend to other things.

But to her surprise, in the evening, William really did come back as he had said during the day.

Just like in the daytime, he ate a plate of spaghetti cleanly.
