Ch 52-Justice

"is he really okay?" Asked Ais

It's been a few seconds since the fiery explosion had happened.

And the fact that Altria came back to them and left Meliodas all alone made them even more worried.

"Don't worry the cap'n won't die so easily" said Ban as he looked at the burned wasteland before him.

"Yup he will be fine~" spoke a voice behind them.

Hearing the voice agreeing with him, Ban said "see, even he agrees with-"

Before he could finish his sentence he realized that there was someone begging and then that they hadn't noticed.

Turning around, they saw a smiling Meliodas whose clothes were half-burnt, half-crispy.

"Cap'n when do you get here?" Ban was surprised that Meliodas appeared behind them suddenly.

The most surprised person here was Topaz since she has been keeping her sharingan activated despite the big Adeptal energy consumption.

"I teleported here through this" Meliodas quickly reached towards Bans ass and yanked out a knife that was lodged on his behind.

Everyone was bewildered at the fact that he casually took of a knife out of him and that Ban didnt notice this whole time.

"I stabed it on you when you were taking Ais to a safer place, the adrenaline must have been the reason you didn't notice"

Everyone nodded at his explanation.

What's adrenaline?

"Anyways, what happened? Is it dead?" Asked topaz.

By the scale of the fight she wouldn't doubt if the dragons very existence was obliterated from existence.

"About that" said Meliodas with a wry smile.

He then proceeded to tell them about whant transpired throughout the fight. From beating the dragon to the dragon becoming a god do to Meliodas almost eliminating him. And then to the part we're he had to send back Altria due to him being worried about her getting hurt.

After all the power of a divine key is no joking matter.

"Now for the next matter at hand" Meliodas quickly tuned around facing Ais. A Ripley in space appeared infornt of Meliodas and ejected a cold body.

Yes, this was Albert Wallenstein dead body.

Meliodas managed to put his burned body inside his storage before he had his catastrophic fight against Agrona. He also healed the body from its burns before going back to the other, after all who wants to see the body of their half burnt father.

Ais who saw the body started to tremble along with tears coming out of her eyes. She quickly hugged the cold body not letting go of it at all.

Meliodas who saw the scene spoke once again "What do you want to do now?, il send you back to your kingdom of you whant" asked Meliodas unaware that Ban had already started to recruit her.

"C-can you make me stronger" asked Ais with a stutter as she wiped the tears off her eyes.

"Huh?" Said Meliodas in confusion.

"Ban said that I could join your crew if you let me, he told me that you picked them both up from street rats to were they are now. I can tell their strong or at least stronger than me from the way they moved and ran." Explained Ais.

Originally she was going to joing them since she had nothing going for her but now that she knows that Agrona ain't dead, she will become stronger enough to be the one to fonishe him off.

Meliodas who saw her determination, got a basic gist of what her intentions were.

He kneeled to her level and spoke "Tell me why do you seek power, for revenge?, Justice?, or perhaps just personal safety. Topaz and Ban here are becoming strong just so that they would keep up with my crazy adventures, but whats your reason?" Meliodas was going to say yes initialy but after thinking it over, he decided to give her a small test since Meliodas doesn't want a self destructive member on his team.

Hearing his question Ais went into deep thought.

What did she want?. Obviously she wanted to kill Agrona but for what, killing her parents?.

No that wasn't it.

It was becuase she wanted to bring justice to everyone, her father, her mother, the total guards, the soldiers.

Every single life that was lost to the flames of that evil being shall be put to rest once she enact justice for them.

And especially her parents souls wherever they are.

"Justice, I whant justice for everyone! And to do that I must grow stronger. So please, let me join your crew and make me stronger"

A smile dawned on Meliodas face upon hearing her answer "good answer, revenge is a path only for someone who doesn't have anything left to lose or if they can take on the consequences of their actions. But even tough you wish for justice, just know that it lies in a very fine line. Everyone has their own perceptions of what's good and evil, right and wrong, so just make sure that your vision of justice never strays from the right path or at least from what you believe to be right and wrong"

Meliodas stood up from his spot and took out a card from his system storage. He then handed it over to her and said "Welcome 'Justice' to the Tarrot car party."

The card Meliodas had given Ais was the Tarrot card 'Justice'.

This is bad like really really bad

I thought she was knocked out cold and by the time Robert left she would be wide awake.

But oh how wrong I was, she somehow woke up earlier than expected and managed to sneak out.

Hopefully she's still around the kingdom looking for Roberts already gone group.

Damit I screwed up on the one and only favor he asked me to do!

"Enter" I spoke.

The door to my office was opened by the guards allowing another guard to come in.

"Your majesty we found her" he said in a serious tone.

Yes!

Hahahah thank Undine that she's alright!.

"But lady Ais isn't alone, she managed to sneak of with Royal guard Robert... I also come bearing bad news" his tone suddenly turned even more serious.

"All the royal guards were wiped out"

... I see.

Fuck!, I've known Robert since I was a child. He's like family to me, at least his daughter is fine.

Don't worry Robert il take good care of her for you.

"She is also going to leave with the group that found her, Lady Ais said that she will train under them. But before that she wanted to come by and say goodbye"

"Follow me, I shall take you to Her Majesty" spoke the guard as he started to lead us through the castle.

The moment we came to the kingdom we became surrounded by soldiers asking why Ais was with me.

Seems like the little escape Ais performed shook the guards a bit.

Ais had already explained to me about her identity and a bit of her past so I understand that the daughter of the head royal guard disappearing is a pretty big deal.

After a little explanation, we were escorted to the royal castle so that the queen of this kingdom could speak with us.

And my anime senses are tingling so I bet she will be a character from another plane of fiction that should exist here.

After a bit of walking we were finally lead to a huge and beautiful white door. 

"here that are, open so they may see Her Majesty" spoke the guard that led us here.

The two other soldiers that were guarding the door nodded and opened the door.

"You may enter" spoke the guard as he signaled us to go in.

I nodded and entered along with the gang.

'Lots of people, annoying' I thought to myself.

as we walked in I could see many people dressed all fancy watching us from the sides. I can only guess that they are nobles who are in the hope of manipulating the person who can kill Agrona or for them, the evil dragon.

I can already see the greed in their eyes.

But it's fine, I can just kill them if they try something. After all, the only way to truly resolve a problem is to bury it 6 feet under.

But I'd rather avoid that since this is Ais' home.

Snapping out of my thoughts, I kept walking down the audience room until I was met eye-to-eye with the queen.

'lolopechka?, so my anime seses were right. Hmm I wonder if that precense was Undine?'

From the moment I entered the castle I could sense something watching us buy I didn't bother calling it out since I didn't sense any bad intention.

The precense felt like a calm and gentle lake so I could only guess it being Undine.

"Yo nice to meetcha!" I said with a smile.

"..." (everyone)

"Um cap, should you really be talking to the queen like that" whispered ban into my ear.

"Hm, well I'm not going to kneel for her since she isn't my queen and I'm not really into formalities. If they have beef with my then they can have beef with my sword up their asses" I responded with confidence.

Ban could only smile wrily while Topaz and Ais slapped their forehead in frustration at how laid back I was.

"*Cough* Yes it is a pleasure to meet you Mr..."

"Meliodas Pendragon. Came here for the emergency quest that your kingdom posted. I've already dealt with the dragon tough there are some... Complications at hand" I said with a frown.

Matching my frown she asked "And what might these 'complications' be?"

*One Long Explanation later*

"Sigh, so this Agrona isn't dead and ascended to godhood. But you managed to kill it, but because it ascending as a god of death it's soul managed to escape and it will take a while for it to completely recover and gain a new physical body. And once it does, it might come back also to finish the job?" summarized Lolopechka.

Meliodas nodded in confirmation making her sigh deeply.

"Your majesty are you sure these outsiders aren't lying. For all we know the man before us could be that evil dragon in disguise!" spoke up a noble from the sidelines.

As he said those words many other noble started murmuring to each other

'Ugh I knew some shit like this was going to happen.'

"I would have already killed you all if I was the dragon. So let's stop these stupid theatrics, I've got places to be and one of them isn't arguing with you people"spoke Meliodas in annoyance.

The noble that had initally accused him started to fume in anger.

He was about to speak once again but another ethereal and soft voice spoke up.

"He is telling the truth"

Water soon started to flow inside from crevices on the castle until it all combined to show a woman made of water.

Undine.

"It is a pleasure to meet a spirit such as yourself. My name is Undine, a high ranking water spirit" she said with a respectfully bow.

Everyone looked at undine with shock.

For her, a high ranking spirit to be respectfull to a mere mercenary was unheard of.

To them she was their goddess and protector so seeing her bow in respect like this was a shock.

"So it was you who was watching us huh?, well it's nice to meet you to Undine. It isn't every day you meet another spirit" Responded Meliodas with respect.

Meliodas had absolutely no respect for the noble men here. But he had at least common decency to talk to Undine and Lolopechka nicely.

"Undine,is he perhaps like Ais here. Half spirit half human?"Asked lolopechka.

Undine shook her head in sideways signaling that it wasn't the case. "No, he has the body of a human but his soul, his soul is definitely one of a complete spirit. And his human body is also able to keep up with his soul strength instead of eroding it. In fact his power ranking is much higher than mine... A spirit god" She answered making lolopechka surprised once again.

In the world of spirits they can be ranked as this.

Lesser class spirit, Mid class spirit, High class pirit, King class spirit, Spirit God.

With Undine being a High ranking spirit. even tough her strength isn't much. He water spirit abilities in healing and defense are quite strong. Hence the reason why she always stays within the kingdom.

To protect it and it's people.

'Wait spirit god, Since when?"

[I can answer that host. The moment you obtained your first Eikon your soul ascended to the power of a high ranking spirit. But each time you accept an eikon your soul and strength increase exponentially hence making you reach the realm of a Spirit God or at least what the people of this world would consider a god.]

Meliodas finally understood why she called him a Spirit God, and the fact that he beat another god only reinforces that claim.

One Eikon by itself was already a power to be reckoned with, but of someone wields all at the same time they might aswell be called a god.

In the game FF16 Clive did manage to obtain powers from all the Eikons but it was only a fraction of their power hence the reason why he only used the abilities in a Semi-Prime form.

But Meliodas obtained only a few Eikons full power still making him more powerfull than fully maxed out Clive Rossfielx.

The Eikons were also being created out from the power of Ultima Wich was the 'God' of the game final fantasy 16.

'Wait if that's the case, why haven't I seen any other spirits?, shouldn't they I don't know be talking and coming to me volunteerly. I know I'm no Disney princess but I should have seen one or two of them in my trip?'

[That is because they are scared of you, host always excludes a dangerous aura that makes them run away. Perhaps if you controlled your vigilant and violent emotions they would come close to you]

'So it's because I'm scary? And what's that about violent emotions. I mean I do like fighting and I do train with Topaz and Ban everyday... Maybe I should take a break.'

"Big bro you're a god?" Asked Topaz with an incredulous expression. She been with him for a while now and she already knew about him being a spirit in flesh. But she never knew that her brother was a god.

Cool Power= Darkness.

Darkness= Zantetsuken, Gungnir, Reapers.

... How did she not see it all this time.

Snapping his thoughts Meliodas answered "Well kinda but I'd rather not be called one. Just treat me like you always would" answered Meliodas earning a nod from the group.

Lolopechka felt another problem coming up. Just knowing that the carefree "Mercenary" infront of her was actually a spirit god who was in a higher positions than any of them. She could already feel the problems that the nobles would cause. Perhaps in hopes in getting him on their side with wealth and power but she doubts any of that would work for a man like him.

In fact she feels pity for the person who tries to mess with him later on without knowing what he truly is.

"Well let's put that aside for now, let's go to the topic I'm most worried about besides a lose phycotic death god and a spirit god" she then directed her eyes towards Ais "Are you truly sure you whant to go with him I won't stop you knowing your reason for doing so but... I promised your father that I would take care of you Incase things went south"

"...yes I do" Answered Ais with a resolute tone.

She was already set on the path of bringing justice for everyone. And with Meliodas as her teacher, she was sure she would be able to do so.

Lolopechka nodded and stood up from her throne.

"Now that all of that is settled, tomorrow we shall have a banquet in celebration of our heros, the Tarrot card party"

After chatting with Lolopechka a bit, she sent us to private rooms within the castle. It was night already and we had a long way to go tomorrow. We could have already left the place but I didnt out of consideration since she is technically Ais only living family.

They might not be related by blood but I can tell that Lolopechka cares a lot about her.

I also whant to go and biluy some gifts for the family. I was thinking of buying kana a cute headband and toys.

For Rexy I was thinking of buying him trinkets and jewelry, in the lore Rex liked collecting things like that so that's what I'll get him.

For Jingliu I was thinking of buying some dresses and snacks we wouldn't be able to obtain in the yellow land(Liyue).

... Well it more like a gift for myself since I whant to see her in clothes besides the ones she dresses up in usually.

Currently I was sleeping already in bed within Altria but this little notification kept me up.

As soon as I saw those notifications, a series of foreign information started to enter my mind. It was an excruciating feeling, it's like someone's is trying to shove a guitar inside through your nose but it doesn't fit. So the person who's is shoving the guitar continuously starts to move the guitar in and out in attempts to push it down inside by force.

After a few seconds the massive headache subsided and new knowledge appeared within my mind.

Dam this is really good. Although the modern knowledge that I posses doesn't have anything related to magic. I by myself can already find new appliances of magic into medical arts.

In fact I feel as if I could save the life of a person whose whole bottom was missing.

And I probably could.

The balcksmthing skill is also useful as hell. I could already start making legendary weapons with it, levels close to S rank weapons that I posses from the system.

Tough the only thing that I'm missing are materials worthy of a S rank weapons.

Ooh what if I made S-Rank armor with my magic circle enchantments!

Wait wait don't get ahead of yourself Meliodas. I haven't even started to craft a simple knife so I shouldn't start dreaming of making a sword that could chop a mountain in half.

Besides those two skill I also got the skill [Status Rebirth]. Out of all the skills I have I think this is my most broken one. If I lack strength I could just relocate skill points to strength and if I'm missing something in another stat I can just relocate them.

It kinda reminds me of when you go to renala in Elden Ring so that you could change your stat points somewhere else and make a new build.

In simple words, the skill is simple yet very flexible. The only downside of it is that I can't change back or remove the points I relocate but that a small price to pay for victory in a battle.

Finally I got three new items, Star of Eden, Gae Bolg, and Time Piercing Sword.

I myself already own [Judgement of Shamash] so now that I also have [Star of Eden] I now own two of the thirteen divine keys.

[Star of Eden] might not be one the strongest of the divine keys like [Judgement of Shamash] but to be able to make artificial black holes is a perk of it's own.

Some people really do underestimate how dangerous black holes really are.

[Time Piercing Sword] is also OP as hell.

To be able to slash someone in the future and past is an ability I will make full use of.

The only thing with slashing the future is that you need to calculate when and were you want to slash into the future so fighting an opponent while making those calculations will be challenging.

And with Geo Bolg... I don't know what to do with it.

It's still a B-Rank noble phantasm but it's not as strong as other weapons I have.

I can't give it to Ban since he likes using [Playfully Cloud] more than a spear and Topaz neither because she only uses the Bow and ranged weapons.

Perhaps I could give it to Rex since he will probably use the spear in the future.

Meh il just put it in my inventory for now.

... Now I kinda want to make a black hole. I've never seen one in person so I'm really curious.

I skillfully removed myself from Altria's embrace and headed towards the window

"Are you going to leave?" Asked Altria behind me. She probably felt my precense leaving the room.

"Nope just going to do some stuf I'll be back soon" I responded.

Altria looked at me still half asleep but she nodded and started getting out of bed.

"Hey you can go back to sleep, you look tired" I said as I didn't mean to wake Altria up.

Altria shook her head and said "no, I am going with you. To begin with the reason I sleep here with you is to stay by your side" she said with a small smile.

Dam!, I didn't know she could smile so sweetly!.

I sighed in resignation and jumped down the window with Altria right behind me.
