A/N: I HAVE PREVAILED!
I got a good score on the test and my CHEM teach had no other choice but to give me the grade of the last test he was holding onto because he suspected I was cheating! (I did)
Anyways, he should be hoping off my dick for a while now.
-3rd POV-
"Are you ready, kids?" Asked Meliodas as he prepared all of his stuff.
The six kids by his side nodded. Most of them didn't speak much since they didn't know how to talk and were still learning, but they still understood him.
In the few months that they have been with him, they all have learned one important thing, he was their father. It was mostly due to the fact that they couldn't remember much before him, but they still thought of him as that.
All they remembered was being locked up in a cage by a bunch of bad people before their dad came and rescued them. To them, he was their anchor that kept them sane.
Sane from whatever they couldn't remember.
Meliodas began to walk outside, the six children walking right behind him.
As they finally made it out of the boundaries of the village, a dark mist manifested beside Meliodas.
A handsome man with silver hair appeared. They knew him quite well, they called him "Uncle Sleipnir"
"So were to, your Majesty?" Asked Sleipnir.
"Mondstat, City!" Melioda's replied.
With a nod, Sleipnir's body was covered in a dark fog once again before transforming into a horse. Getting on him, the children also climbed on for the ride.
-Meliodas POV-
After half an hour of riding, I could finally see the massive walls surrounding the island in the middle of Cider Lake.
It was impressive honestly, mostly because it went beyond my expectations. In-game, despite it being the main "city" of Mondstat, the place was incredibly small.
Of course, that was for obvious reasons. Genshin Impact was to be an open-world game, and giving it full-scale cities would make the game's download size too big.
And unlike the game, the city was massive. Even from outside the walls, I could see the scaling rows of buildings and decorations, all leading up the the very peak of Mondstat City which was the church and the statue of that annoying D1 twink.
UGH~
I can already tell that it will take a while to find the adventurer guild.
Before getting close to the entrance, I got off Sleipnir along with the kids and had him transform back into his human form. He's more useful that way.
As we were finally ready, we began to walk up the main gate. The line was surprisingly long as multitudes of carriages were lined up to enter. They were probably merchants.
From here I can see that you need to show some sort of paper to the guard, shit!
I didn't know that you needed citizenship to enter or something like that.
Sigh~ I guess I'll just ask the guard when I get there.
After a while, the kids, Sleipnir, and I finally made it to the gate.
"Papers please" the guard on the left spoke, his tone more serious than it should be.
"Sorry, but I don't have those" I replied with a wry smile.
"Then no enter-"
"Wait, I know the kid" Suddenly spoke the guard to the right, cutting off the left guard.
He reached up to his head and removed his helmet, revealing his face.
He had a decent face accompanied by a scruffy beard and brown hair. He looked like he was in his mid-thirties.
"Mr. Duncan?" I said in surprise.
Mr. Duncan was one of the first people to welcome me into Springvale and help me obtain some stuff for the kids. He's been a HUGE help to me these past two months. So much in fact that he's one of the few people that Reinhart can tolerate to a certain level.
I'm surprised though, I knew that he had a job but I didn't think he was a knight. Most of the people in Springvale are either hunters or Outriders. Yes, the Outriders haven't died out yet like in canon Genshin Impact.
"The one and only, kid. Finally decided to visit the city?" he asked as he flashed me a smile.
"Yes, but I've also come to find a job" I replied.
"Ah, the kids are quite expensive, eh?" he asked as he rubbed his beard like a sage.
I smiled wryly as I nodded my head.
He chuckled lightly at my nod as he was amused by my response.
"Alright then, if you just want to go into the city here and there you'll need to get a permission certificate which is what most merchants and people who are just visiting get, the place to apply for one of those is at the south entrance. if you want full citizenship then you need to go to the west entrance where the office for that is" Mr. Duncan explained.
Huh, well they're quite organized with their rules for the country of "Freedom". Maybe it's because Varka hasn't left for the expedition and the good knights haven't left along with him?
But the problem is, how long it will take to get citizenship?
"Don't worry, kid. I got you" Sudenly spoke Mr. Duncan.
As if he had read my mind, he pulled out some sort of cards from his pouch. They all read "Temporary Citizenships".
"Wait, you can do that?" I said in surprise. I don't think knights can just give out citizenship, even if they may be temporary.
"Hahaha, of course I can! After all, I am the captain of Mondstat's homeland defence" A smug grin became plastered across his face.
What the fuck?!
he is the captain?!
I looked over to the other guard who had been watching on the sidelines this whole time. Our eyes met and he understood what I was asking.
He shook his head in confirmation.
"Well alright, thanks Mr. Duncan" I said with gratitude as I took the eight temporary from his hand.
"No problem, Kid" He shook his head.
"How about after I finish my shift, I take ya and the kids to the best restaurant in Mondstat? Dinner is on me" he suddenly offered.
Hmmm, should I accept?
I can tell Mr. Duncan is just being kind, mostly because of the kids though. Being neighbors with him, I've found out he has two daughters, a boy, and a wife. He's just like the nice fatherly figure next door for everyone.
"Alright, I'm going to be around the Adventurers Guild. I'll meet up with you there" I nodded.
"Alright kid, see ya then" he nodded.
With that settled, we entered the city.

A/N: Sorry if this chapter was a bit boring but Meliodas going to that restaurant is an important piece of plot. You'll see later.
