(Alexander POV)
Inside a cave on one of the highest mountains in Dragonspine, I sat in front of a bonfire pondering about the questions lingering inside my mind.
'Where did my system come from? And 'Why do I have a system not compatible with my talent?' Such are the questions plaguing me for quite a while.
'I don't have any memories of what happened after I slept back then. So either I never encountered a ROB or my memories of the encounter got erased.' I thought as I scratched my head.
'Still, I don't think I'd make a dumb enough wish for a mismatched talent and system like this. Heck, I never even thought about having Mahoraga's talent. If I were the one choosing, I'd probably choose the magic Arc of Embodiment.' I thought as my mind wandered for possible reasons.
'The most probable reason was my talent was randomly given. Some novels I read before have ROBs summoning a wheel to give a random ability.' Squinting my eyes, a thought came to mind.
'I am on Teyvat. I don't believe that I got here via random spin. I most likely choose this place. My system looks like the game interface so the system might not come from the ROB. The system was probably bestowed by a god or a world will. Those are the cliché scenarios usually used in fictional works. Probably from something like the world will as the Genshin god staying on Celestia will probably kick me out not give me a gift. Or not? Since the Traveler was forced to stay here by the random god.' I said to myself as I let out a tired sigh.
I then stood up and slowly went out of the cave to take a view of the mountain region filled with snow covered by the moonlight.
After that awkward conversation with Chloe, we continued our adventure on this frozen land. It was a good thing she dropped her question as I do not know how to answer such profound mysteries.
Tomorrow will mark the first month of my new life after getting transported here on Teyvat.
I also already reached the maximum level cap about a week ago and all I can say it was underwhelming. Pitifully underwhelming.
Usually, in isekai stories, the strength cap would at least be a planetary god.
Level 90? Not even a national level. Heck, at most it's street level. A max level can only destroy a street with its strongest attack, laughable. Even Venti which they call the weakest Archon can blow mountains away what kind of power level is this?
Unsatisfied with my progress, I attempted an experiment using my adaptation a week ago after getting disappointed at this seemingly useless level system.
With my talent being able to adapt to anything, I slowly wished and thought of using my talent to slowly reconfigure my system. At first, nothing of note happened, probably because I didn't really know what to do. However, after a few trials and errors, I noticed some of my abilities slowly merged into a new one, making my status page a lot cleaner than before.

With a nod, I thought, 'Now this is what a system compatible with my talent should look like. Minus the attribute part.'
As I admired the vast expanse of snow-covered natural art further emphasized by the ethereal moonlight, I tried to focus as to make the attribute part of the system adapt.
'It would take a while, but I can feel it subtly change. I need to either be able to adjust the system to fit my adaptation or remove the whole attribute part of the system. Shit's limiting my growth. Although, I wonder how the Traveler copes with this. If the Traveler will get the same system from whoever gave it to me. I wonder how will they cope with such a weak ass system. I can't even imagine how I would win without my adaptation talent and only as a level 90 Anemo spear-wielder fighting the god complex robot hat guy to save cute cabbage baby.' I said to myself before looking back to find Chloe standing behind me.
"You ok? You have been lost in thought for quite a while now. We can talk about it if something is bothering you." She said in a tone filled with concern.
"Haha, I'm fine. Just having some serious thoughts. Let's go inside, I need to talk to you about something important." I answered with a wry smile.
After we sat, side by side in front of the bonfire, I said. "I need you to leave me behind. Go to Mondstadt and stay th-"
"EH?!" With wide teary eyes, Chloe interrupted my speaking as she was shocked to the core.
Her shaky hands grabbed my arms before saying, "You don't want to be with me anymore? You said we will travel together? Did I do something wrong? Please don't abandon me."
Tears flew down her eyes as she shook my arms.
"Eh? No? Don't overreact stupid girl. Don't go jumping to conclusions. Let me finish first." Shaking my head, I sighed at the clumsy girl. Seriously, let me finish speaking first before interrupting.
"OK. Don't interrupt and let me finish speaking. As I said, leave me for a while and go to any village near Mondstadt, not the main capital. Register as an Adventurer with a new name and get something better to wear, stop using that Cicin mage outfit. Do not use your real name, understand? Then stay there and do missions. We will meet again on Angel's Share in the capital Mondstadt after 300 days."
