This time, he didn't expect things to be different. If anything, he was even more infuriated now than before.
His mother's happy smile and giddy enjoyment seemed to offset that somewhat. It was clear that Isolde had been hoping that this would happen for a long time, but didn't want to interfere in her child's love life—a far cry from how Cassarae's parents did things.
But his mother's joy didn't have much of a dampening effect.
